Whats up with LEC?

I was looking at LEC and its cheap and has a great spectrum. Why don't I hear more about it?

I see you can grab a sunsystem jumpstart 315 LEC for under $200 with bulb

They're HID. CMH is less IR output than the 30% HPS puts out, but you're still spending a lot of electricity on excess IR. Anyone with really cheap power should see these as a decent investment, especially if they're growing in cold country.

Yes. LEC is a brand name, trade mark for CMH lamps they produce.

They are different acronyms for the same thing

LEC Light Emitting Ceramic
CMH Ceramic Metal Halide.

LEC is more like a definition of the type of light produced by a CMH lamp
