Sour Bubble 4x4 Tent SCROG in 30gal smartpot under 1KW

Hello all,

So I am intrigued by BOG's Sour Bubble, the only SB I have ever smoked was with BOG at the emerald cup last december when i bought the seeds. I loved the smoke and wanted more. I popped the beans and got two females, got clones of them both but never got chance to see how they do because they were moved to a new house during flower and the stress of the move led to a PM outbreak so they were pulled. I kept the genetics going, knowing that once the outside stuff was going and happy this summer I would want to start some sour bubble again inside.

Once June 1st came around I knew the time had come, So i smoke a few and did something else and on June 6th I set up the tent and get everything going.

4 30 gallon smartpots filled to about 75% with homemade soil mix mostly mimicking outdoors and then mulched them. There are 4 plants in there, the front right one is a different pheno than the other three.

Here are a couple pics from the 6th when they started.

Day 17 from transplant!

Day 17 from transplant!

The ladies are just plugging away just as one would want. So far I have only given them water and once a really simple EWC extract**.
I added the screen today and I hope to have the screen filled and flip to flower sometime in the next 3 weeks but really I am in no hurry, I just want happy plants and some good smoke. Here are some pics also, Cheers!

**(EWC in 400 micron bag, shaken and massaged around in water for 10-15 min to break loose micro-organisms from the castings then added a touch of kelp and humic acid for bacterial and fungal food, then soil drench and top dress with the castings from the tea bag; from what i understand from Elaine Ingham this should be an adequate replacement to AACT for soil drenches assuming one has enough compost or EWC since there is no brewing to multiple organisms.)

Day 19

Day 19

Plugging away slowly but surely. I forgot how fun it is to have a grow tent right in the middle of my living space. Last indoor, i checked on probably on average twice a day. With this right next to my kitchen I am checking on her constantly, which is allowing me to really stay on top of cutting off the lower new growth that would become larf later.

21 days under the fake sun.

21 days under the fake sun.

I am impressed with the growth rate this time around. Its the soil and the extra room I am sure. This time around the soil is way better and they are in 30 gallon pots instead of 3 gallon pots.

I decided I want to try to document this as much as I can to reference as I play around with this strain going forth. I was surprised to see how much growth has occurred in the last two days. My last time with SB, it seemed to be super slow.

Wow, 30 gallon scrog monsters in a 4X4!

Should be fairly rediculous no? LOL! im definitely subbed.

using the hay for moisture/pest control?

Indeed, I am hoping it will be a great little show!

Standsideways- There is hay for mulch to keep the soil moist as well as there are tons of dormant protozoa on straw and grasses, paramecium, i think. So my idea is that the bottom part of the moist straw contacting the soil should provide a boost in protozoa population. Also it breaks down into some nice pretty humic material after a few seasons.

I had't thought of hay being used as a pest prevention device other than to just improve the overall health of my little tent ecosystem. What kind of pest prevention are you thinking about?

gurutouch - I am hoping for a beautiful monster...

Everything is filling in so well!!

Thanks for the information about the straw, i have access to straw and a few different "hay" blends. I may just have to try it out!

Anonymous grow...

Thanks for your demo thread. Nice to see an Emerald Cup customer posting here.

Those seeds are almost gone now and I hope yours do well. So far folks have been happy with this batch of seeds. The last of that batch are going fast.

I have the new batch curing now and it looks like I had another good harvest with large and dark SB seeds in good numbers.

Interesting way to grow indoors. Pretty organic and they should like those big pots. My strains will root well if given the chance.

I will be back! Boginator;)

I am happy to see everyone here and enjoying the show.

BOG thanks for coming by, so far all the genetics I got from you at the cup are doing me well. If we are both at the cup again this year I will bring some and we can burn one.

The ladies are about day 30 from when they landed in the tent. getting closer to flip time.

Bushy as can be. They seem to be doing well, I appreciate the hard work BOG. Here are a few pics of some of your beans outside.
