FLA,USA TROPICAL GARDENING,TACO compost!!

Hello friends!

Just thought you'd like to see how i do my veggie farming........

Grow just weed,NOPE!!!

i grow anything an everything i can,an mostly from seed, collected an stored.

Here in FLA,we have a pretty shitty ground so i never grow in it except trees an flowers.
My style of composting is a very good way to keep all my nutrients from just running
down threw the earth here an loosing everything very fast from runoff, leaching threw
this BEACH SAND/glass dust we have for earth??????.....central FLA SUCKS really, but i
make the best of it!!....down in Miami area they have a limestone shelf a few feet under
the ground and they do have a much better chance of building good soils an retaining it!!
Northern FLA has a much better soils with a clay base to build an retain nutes also...

Central has nothing but (sugar sand) probly the worst earth anyplace, with root damaging
NEEMATOADS an fungus that can rot a full grown SATIVA to the ground in a few days.......
Thats just the soils.....the worst conditions we have is the MOLD in the air, fungus of the
WORST kinds....giving peach trees SHOTHOLE in the leafs, killing healthy trees from ROT.
its quite a battle here for veggies.....

What does NOT grow here well in the home garden,CORN,ONIONS,CELLERY,root types that
need a mineral soil, although CORN does fine in north FL in areas of sand, the heat is not as extreme as central or humidity witch contributes to all kinds of molds year round............

Let me get a bunch of great shots, and i will explain my TACO COMPOSTING TEK later!!!!!

So,most the time o grow in pots, using my old soils an new compost it gets the job done...

Hide the harvest,I'm coming!

Very nice pull! I think if people would just get a good harvest the first time they woiuld be gardeners for life, but I think people just give up after a failed grow.

I can't start till October(HEAT)but I'll be back in the fall.

I lost all my toms from a five day cold spell, about 34 plants of heirlooms(black krim) The temps dipped to the 20's for five days in a row.First time I've seen this in the desert.

I really like the garden!Keep up the hard work.

Homegrown is alright by me.:tiphat::thank you:

More random...

More random...

it shure keeps me buzzzzzzzzzy!

Sometimes i get bad news like loosing whole trees to FREEZE.
Had a 15 foot tall mango growing 6 yrs,an a freeze killed it to the sand.
10 inch diamiter trunk compleatly DEAD in 1 night.....freeze of 06' i think?
They grow all the mangos an avocados near the sea or way down in miami......
if it wasnt for the FREEZES in FLA,the place could be worth billions in crops?????
THEN COMES THE HEAT.....hot enuff to burn a plant dead in a day also.

But we do carry on the best we can!

See them 4 pound cabbages i grew, they do great here even in pots!!!!!
Brocoli an coliflower do great also.....brocolini too....love them suckers.........

Some more shots!
