5 Gallon Buckets

If I'm going to cure/store my outdoor crop in 5 gallon buckets, does it need to be food grade? Home Depot sells 10 packs at a great price, which is perfect, but they're not food grade. I'm also thinking about buying some kind of container off a restaurant supply website. Any ideas would be well appreciated. I think I'm in over my head a little here lol.

I think NON-food grade containers may 'off-gas' ... emit chemical vapours ... and there is a chance this could poison yr stash and you even if you couldn't taste/smell it . I WOULD buy from a restaurant supplier.

Everybody I know uses regular old rubber maid totes.

Just give them a wash and a dry before putting your bud in there.

I got the food grade at home depot for like $4-5 a pop. They use the same plastic as the orange buckets but without the dye.

Go to your local fish market and get some 25 lb. fillet tubs with lids.
