wtf is this? ive never seen this before, at the very tips the leaves have stopped growing on some shoots and is producing these wierd calyx type thingys....

strain: og kush from RP(fem)
1 week into 12/12
yes it is female, not a hermie...i checked it thoroughly

if you look in the pics its the tip thats circled, and asyousee its only some tips that are affected

any and all comments on what this is are welcomed....btw only plant in the garden like this and this is a clone from a mother plant that i have others from the same mom and no problem....

so im wondering, is this a genetic mutation that will only arise when certain stresses happen? or is this a defidiency ive never seen before?

odd, i would suspect genetic mutation, since everything else in the picture looks great....

if it were me, id cut it off....

my votes for the other direction...see how it plays out...at least for a few weeks...could end up being some kinda cool looking mutant, if you do just keep an eye out for naners just in case...

Never seen that, even in the TMV threads.

If the rest of the plant weren't so damned healthy I'd be alarmed, but this one has me on the ropes.

If you can, separate her and see what happens. If not I'd be looking really close at the bolt cutters.

I've never seen it either, but that's not exactly saying much. I tell you the first thing that popped into my head was "throw back". It's like it's primitive type of bud, ya know?

it look like a shoot that WANTS to herm......

you know what i mean? sometimes LATE into flowering a little shoot may come out of the top of a bud, that will have a few nanners on it....

ya i know, im not quite sure what to think really, so i clipped off all affected parts except for 2 at the top of the main shoot, ill grow it out another week or 2 to see what happens, see if more apear or if this just stops growing or what, im curious...ifr i see anything i dont like its getting the chop

S

SeaMaiden

what am i supposed to be seeing? all i see are baby leaves developing on growing tips.
The growth he's depicting is just wrong. For one thing, a good female plant should not be growing leaves from those points, those are bud sites and that ain't bud that's developing. The fact that there is what appears to be a petiole occurring where there should be calyx, you see. That's why I'm suggesting a throw-back.

Look at what's growing from where the leaf petiole attaches to the main stem. Typically that's supposed to start off as a calyx and then it's built on, as pistils pop up, becoming thicker and thicker and "stacking" calyxes and pistils. What he's showing isn't the same at all. It does almost resemble a hermie, too, except that it's a hermie of a different type, a type I personally have never witnessed before and I thought I'd managed to witness a few odd hermies.

if a calyx can turn into a leaf on a reveg, who's to say a leaf can't turn into a calyx? anyway i can't make out anything in those pics without a macro. all im seeing are developing baby leaves. leaves develop from anywhere have you never taken clones?

S

SeaMaiden

Christ on a crutch. Yeah, I've taken one or two clones. <roll eyes>

impossible, the problem is it has stopped making leaves at the new growth, and is only making preflowers with 100% no leaf

i think you dont see the problem properly here....

the problem is on the affected tips, its still making preflowers, but no leaves, no buds, just preflowers...

ill update in a few days, then maybe you will see more clearly
