A question of ventilation.

Hello again!

So, given where I am living I need my grow to be somewhat stealthy. I'm looking into buying a Phresh filter and an inline fan to start. But I really only have one place I can vent to which is the floor trusses that are showing from the ceiling.

Or would they be ceiling trusses? ?

Would it be suitable to vent into this or would I just be wasting my time and money? I can post pics if need be. Thank you in advance!

A picture is worth a thousand words sometimes, I think that would probably help things along here.
I can't picture what you are explaining in mind.

I think we call them joists. It's not suitable to vent into that space unless that space is also ventilated.

I vented into my floor joists for many years.... no problems at all. The grow room was in the basement and I vented right into the ceiling using a 6" diameter hole and one of those HVAC adapters with the tabs that bend into place and hold the 6" adapter against the ceiling.

I often worried about mold growing in the joist spaces during the more humid months but I never had any problems. Worked great.
