Imvho yes. For the money, lifespan, efficiency, output and results all make them the best in my book.. 2.6umol per watt is hard to beat.

Erm idk what they're charging on ebay because that link just shows me a description.

Yeah well the heat sink is important if you're hammering them, and its predrilled and the kit just makes life slightly easier which people gladly pay for considering the price vs say gavita or spyder etc LED rigs..

If you want to get creative then do do.. i cant find the right size heat sinks so easily usable where i am for a better price so it seems okay..

If you dont get one of their heatsinks just get one of those laser temp guns and a killowatt meter so you can watch what is going on temp and watts output wise..

Id also say anyone using dimmed LED rigs should get a lux or PAR meter so you can get the lights and thus penetration thru canopy at the right distance :2cents:

Also have a look at https://atreumlighting.com they have the same diodes as the hlg v2 but a little cheaper. I just got a 288 v2 board with heatsink, driver, and cord/wago kit for $142. shipped. Not too bad. Has not arrived as of yet but I'm jazzed. I would also have a look at rapid led, Timber, or look into a strip build if you are into diy. Strip build examples: https://ledgardener.com/diy-led-strip-build-designs-samsung-bridgelux/

All that being said I have a hlg 260 kit v1 and have been satisfied with it.

Edit* Growerslights . com has hlg stuff pre assembled for a slight premium if you don't want to mess with anything. However Its super easy to put together one of the "diy" kits will take you 5-10 minutes.

Thanks for the tips. I chickened out on a diy and bought:

I am going to build my next one(s) and hope you'll let us know how your build goes zappa66.

All the talk of bins got me confused. lol

"288pcs Samsung LM301B SK Bin high-quality diodes per Board"

What is SK bin? And, high quality compared to what? (Not saying my assembled board is better or different!) :)

I chickened out myself on my first purchase! Once you put that together and see how easy it is a strip build is not so intimidating. If I had to start over thats probably where I'd go. You'll be happy with that board for sure.

I have no Idea about bins myself, just gleaning what I can from more experienced people on the forums. Same as everyone else!

lots of info on the roll it up led forum as well as the led gardener forum.

here is a link from hlg showing how to properly wire your board:
