nice

nice

nice rocks, conlarazon.

I'm a bit of a rockhound, and put pics of rocks in my grow thread.

I really like that galena and those big crystals of pyrite in your specimans.

Did you find those around a mine, or just out looking around? I'm in the desert so mountains are bare enough to spot good places to look. Chile's full of desert too i guess.

Anyway, post some more.:tiphat:

Here's a piece of Fire Agate

hey conlarazon, i'll pull that pic of fire agate if you want. You posted those nice mineral specimens, I don't want to turn this into a rock collecting thread.

So if you don't mind, I have this rock? mineral? Could be hematite maybe.
leaves a gray streak. File does not scratch it. It does not scratch quartz.

It has an iridescent sheen and a metallic luster. It attracts a magnet. has a smooth almost waxy feel.
I cut it and polished it. it's a bit greenish with small crystals throughout.

Any ideas?

Hello from Chile in South America
sorry my english an traslator ...

St. Phatty and paper thorn ...

Hi friends, thank you for coming to see my collection of minerals.
I work inside the mine, and I have access to the samples from the vein. My job is electric, next to Boomer 282.
I like rocks because of its brightness, I do not know anything about geology, but I informed via google and asking the geologists ...

When a mineral is attracted by a magnetic field, it is a paramagnetic mineral ... it could be hematite if the stripe is reddish, but there are other minerals that are also paramagnetic.
