I can't be the only houseplant guy that's been searching for veriegated weed. I think that I finally got it. I hope this is how freaking pictures work here.

The term your gonna find more information with would be "sport" as it is what variegated plants are called. Sadly it doesn't breed true with Cannabis and the genes seem to skip recessively. I have noted it to be more pronounced in the males I grew, they retained the trait all throughout their life, females tended to outgrow it by the 7th node on average..

Hey Jonathan T!
You are not alone my friend.
There are several people working Variegated cannabis lines at the moment (myself included). You can follow; Safeeakh as well as Painted Forest Farms on Instagram. Safeeakh is working the discontinued Vanilluna from DJ Short and Painted Forest Farms have a Pablo Picasso from Kaly Seeds. It’s been noticed in the Blueberry lines, but as xxPeacePipexx pointed out, it is a recessive gene. I’m working with the First Light from DJ Short and Two of Five showed slight variegation.

I don't use ig. I would love to see some of yours. Mine turned out to be a male.

I’ve been having trouble uploading pictures to ICMag. He (Safeeakh) just posted a picture of a male “Paper White” pheno that two people I showed, swore was photoshopped!!:dance013:

I have a Tangie that is trifoliate with slight variegation- only the up to the 4th-5th node or so...been looking for this trait. I’m going to throw some pollen on it from a male with the same trait and see if I can make it a more common occurrence in the f2-f3, and on generations...

I've only encountered one variegated plant in over twenty years of growing. But it was pretty! Easily could have been a prized houseplant in a different legal climate. It was a blueberry from Peak Seeds BC.

It has been my experience that variegated cannabis plants are more finicky than their non variegated counterparts. I had a blue dream plant from humboldt Seed Org. get attacked by thrips, and the ones DNA mutated into the most stunning variegation, appearing on every 2nd fan leaf. Unfortunatley she was slower to grow than her sister counterparts and took twice as long to root. If i was doing anything wrong please critic me but from what i could observe, in the same environment she was weaker and less vigorous.

You’re absolutely correct! I have noticed that they are way more sensitive than their “normal” green counterparts. I find the variegation to be incredibly attractive and don’t mind the finicky nature of the chimera plants. The strain I have now is growing much quicker than other variegated varieties I have grown in the past, though I don’t have any “normal” green plants growing along side the 7 - Woodland Digital I have growing now.
