Afterthought Autos was so kind and generous to send me 2 different Auto regular seed strains for a TEST grow for future possible strains: Numbskull(++CBD), Tranquil Hemp. Since they are auto regulars I'm going to run 3 staggered over 30 days, hoping for a 2 Fem-1 MALE 3-some. I like ability to capture pollen for expanding strain and trying crosses.

Genetic lineage: Boax x Finola Hemp CBD
Indoor: 13-16 weeks (start to finish)
Outdoor: Similar
Height:Indoor: Med-Tall

10/30/20 Germinated and will be grown in:
Organic soil, reused and baked Stonington blend base
Added:
Worm castings
Stonington blend fertilizer
Fish bone meal
Lobster compost
5 gallon bucket
Start under CFL and over to LED HLG 550 to run 18/6 on/off schedule

DAY ONE: 10/31/20 popped up from soil.

Due to constraints I had to start in small Burpee cups 2 days short of 3 weeks post germ & they were transferred from the starter cups into their 5 gallon final destination using the soil mix initially noted. Now under an HLG 550 with PAR dialed down to 500.
Running temps in mid 70's during 18/6, dropping to low 60's when lights off.

Tranquil #1 has grown most faster and fuller than #2, and the others being tested. Probably makes sense for being Hemp(Boax x Finola).
Tranquil's leaves look sharp, jagged like vs rounded leaf tips of others.

Since these are regular seeds, I also started #3 this week, hoping I get a 66% fem rate so I can run 2 thru harvest.

Transfer from starter cups was easy due to great root structure. Very impressed with abundance of roots. Easy peasy 3 weeks in.

BTW, I'm 9 for 9 with seed germination rate for afterthought autos. Strong genetics

Excellent job, Scrog! We're making the Tranquil a robust auto hemp strain crossing with Candida....should be stellar. Have had numerous requests for a CBD hemp strain <0.3 thc. By jove, we've got it!

Not to take away from your Tranquil posts....it's an awesome auto hemp hybrid!!

And art.spliff- excellent amendments! We use black soil we dig from Northern NM, Fertiloam soil, BuffaLoam soil booster and azomite for winter runs indoors, with ewc.

4 weeks old today. 14” is showing female, while 7” showing male pods. Pulling the male out tonite and should have the space to let him grow to produce and collect pollen. Started a 3rd recently and will use to replace the male. Increasing to 600 PAR

Agree that the 14” female and 7” male Tranquil have been very aggressive with growth and showing sex. Expect female to more than double over next 30 days and ready to stake when needed. Looking forward to pollen collection too

Looks like my premature thinking was more wishful thinking, and both proved to be males. Pulled the second male, while I am letting the first continue to grow and expect to collect pollen starting next week. Started 2 more which germed recently and are starting out in their 4 gallon buckets.
Eager to grow out some hemp females I can hand paintbrush pollinate and utilize in various CBD and CBDA forms.
Reading some real interesting articles on hemp and CBDA.
