Well m8..I think she is a Stunner..Pure Black Magic..

looking at her with the green behind her she looks as black as coal.
True Black.

The only thing I can see is the bud looks a bit light but that could be an illusion due to her ginger beard..(nice long trics)

IMO it is getting the leaves to colour that is the Hard part
and you have done that Wonderfully..

I think she is Class..how long has it taken?

This is the second germ I did on her..

this is the whole pot. After seeing how fast growing the non-af phenos were I stepped them up to a 40 ltr pot..to let them have their head.

The non-af is in the middle..you can see by the size of her stem that she is going to be a big one.
(they are all hollow stems)
The other 4 are the AF's.
Slightly stretched because I was still a bit off season when they were started..but they have nice head-spread.

Thank you, but i'm not pleased. The mainproblem is that the black color doesn't stay, the leaves turns darkpurple and at harvest they're almost lightred (From black to lightred on 14-17 days). The second problem you nailed, the buds isn't black. They got a little grey tone but still very green in my perspective. :mad:

Oh, a long time.... i'm not sure but perhaps 3.5-4 years. I've stabilized the genes this far but will continue the "black tomato"-project soon.

AH M8..that could be a big clue.
When the JEM's first split off into colour I got white..purple..and Slug grey.
Very unattractive...I thought she had mold..
but the slug grey line was the one I pulled the black and the red bud out of.
I would say you are in the right line already..it might just be a question of another few clicks.

Just a thought..
with that colour foliage..
can you imagine what she would look like with an ice white bud for contrast..
or a RED.
WOW..

THAT thought makes me feet hurt...
I'd give my right arm for that One.

Oh m8..I would 100%.

Give me a couple of clues on her..

on the Smoke taste..is she high..medium or low tone..?

when you roll..do you get different bud selections or is she fairly set..?

smell during grow..is she low..medium..or stink monster..?

on Smoke Smell..not taste..do you ever find she has Acrid smell..?
(like burning copper wire)

On photo 1..are you growing her outdoor.
She is Good for any grow conditions..
but if you have her outdoor..she is in Exceptional condition.
Reflection on your growing skill..methinks.

The smoke got a pretty strong tone, you can both see and smell the sativa genes from VB. They usually grow so tall you got to give them a little support with sticks so they won't snap. About the buds i've noticed that they grow different, the maincola is prio 1 and always grow big but the sidebranches bud is quite small and not that thick. She's a true stinker, when you give her water it seems that she releases ever more smell. About the acrid smell of smoke, never noticed but in the same time never tried to sniff on the smoke :muahaha:

The genes has been breed outdoor from the early beginning but i've tested them inside too, I think they grow best outdoors... inside (under hps) they seem to be a little bit "unhappy". The yeild is lower and they're spoiled, demands alot when it comes to nutrients. In soil, outdoors they smile back each time i visit them :dance:

Keep up the good works guys. The AF ppl definately need a 100% purple-black AF monster.
Or atleast I do :D

Also IMHO, a 100% black/purple plant would attract way less attention outdoors.

cyber echo..cheers m8. I figure the easiest way to hide things is to put them in full view. If we make them look like flowers..AND keep the grow smell down..we can grow them anywhere.

The true black I isolated off the JEM line was low to mid tone smoke.
Incredibly strong smoke.
One of the smallest buds in the grow comparatively..
but made up for it in Strength of smoke
and absolutely stunk every time you even went near her.

The kush/black DC I have is almost the polar opposite.
Large showy buds..relatively low grow smell..very high toned smoke taste..
and a strong kushy has a tendency to give the acrid smoke smell.

I think you are not a midges whisker off your dream girl.
I know this may go against your principles..but the next time you roll..
try selecting the girl with the SMALLEST top bud instead of the largest.
It might just get you what you want.

Haha I know what you mean there. My last one was that way. A bit leafy and rough, but a good cure straightens that out.

This old dog might be changing his ways. Im very tempted to get into organics and try out the moonshine mix. From what everyone says its the way to go.

I brushed up against her..and it was like having my arm Slurped by a tongue coated in vaseline..
(that conjours up some images eh!)
I am sure she will come good in the cure..but it has me chuntering...
I am starting to wonder if AF's actually Mature for smoking faster than long season girls..anybody else noticed this..?

This Old Dog has just changed compo too.
The new one is soil-less and a much lighter aerated texture..
smells and feels exactly like the ones we used to make when I worked in the commercial greenhouses...more woody than anything else
No compacting and ATM..
the girls look as if they are really appreciating the difference.

A black plant LST'd to run along the soil ( rows along the sun's movement so that it gets plenty of sun) should be pretty hard to spot imo.
In anycase, anyone seeing a plant that black prolly wont know wtf it is anyway :p
