Clone Gel Vs Powder wich is best

bubble cloner generally took the same amount of time (7-10 days vs 10 days in rockwool) as rockwool so didn't seem worth it, especially after a couple of tries when it never seemed to work again after that, it may have been the need for extreme sterilization, haven't felt like a glutton enough since then to find out.

if i have had some clones in a bubbler for a few days would it hurt to dip them in cloning gel now? I just picked some up so thought I would apply it...
what ya reckon?

yeah, nothing else matters nearly as much imo as a good heating mat. if you dont have a seedling one and just have the kind your mom used to use when you were young, which gets a bit too hot, just fold a towel and put it between your heating pad and your cloning tray.

my philosophy has always been the longer it takes cuttings to root, the more stress they undergo. i never keep clones that take longer than 12-14 days, but thats just the way i do it.

opinions are like assholes. everyone has one and they all STINK!

its not the method of cloning that makes a difference
its the methodology/technique you employ when PREPPING the cut that makes all the difference in the world.

gel is a lifesaver tho....literally.....it SEALS the cut-end and prevents embolism......i havent any gel right now :gaga: but i know for sure it would have saved 40+ clones this past year. it helps but if things are done right you shouldnt need any hormones

Truth told i didnt read the 1st page but if it wasnt mentioned already dip n gro is alchohol based stuff and id imagine after so many years in dry storage it'd evap rendering less effective

the alch solvent they use supposedly self-sterilizes the solution makin it so that you can dip cutting after cutting without riskin cross contam.

this also keeps algaes, molds, bacterium and lichens at bay while rootin, reckon

okok i still owe yas anotha cent - hee hee - im fucked up guys plz scuse the longness

okok i still owe yas anotha cent - hee hee - im fucked up guys plz scuse the longness

somebody mentioned disposin of cuttin after 2 wks if no roots

id hate to gift you guys unrooted cuttings :biglaugh: :asskick: :moon:

ive had zero luck rooting clones in the mail in under 2wk
usually it takes longer than a month for them to come around

when takin yer own cuts and theres no shock its a different story

cold + unrooted wet cuts = strangled and mangled cut ends and inability to root

gotta be at least room temp and not higher than 90 or so....82-84 farenheit is ideal IME

as long as the medium theyre rootin in stays aerobic theyll root before dyin if conditions are kept up, even if it does take 1.5 month..

…………..will imop I think it depends on the media that your going to put your clone in ~ I have found that the Gel works best with dry media more then most media, and that the powder work best with medias that are more most they dry.

KISS principle

I do mines old school, no pad, no hormones

an oasis sheet, a flat, a dome, a mister, bottled water and hum-tea

I just scar em', put alil water/humtea in the flat, mist the dome stick it on there and dont open it for like 10 or so days and then wa'la we got rootz everywhere

never fails

I like the Schultz powder, but am sure it is very similar. Agreed...more expensive gels aren't needed, but are a little safer IMO bacause I'm always afraid I'm going to inhale that powder, it gets airborn easily. Maybe u didn't mention also it is important to have a thin film of the powder and not be 'caked' on. I used to think it was neccessary to pre-cut also but I don't do it anymore and it doesn't make a difference. Yes this is the tried and true, least B.S. method out there! Nice post.

i used shultz powder, got 20/20 in coco plugs. same strain with clonex, 14/20.

I always use Clonex purple and it gives me reliable results, not saying the other stuff doesn't work. I also recently tried sphagnum moss as the cloning medium and got 100% strike rate.

I'm partial to Dutch Master Replicator Gold. The stuff is insane! Roots clones so fast, and they dont wilt or turn yellow. I also add humic acids to my spray bottle when misting them. Diamond nectar is good as is fulmag or fulpower. Tried some schultz powder once and only one out of eight rooted and it only had a few scraggly roots. The clones dipped in the replicator gold have so many fat roots packed on it's unreal. Highly recommend the stuff, I know I'll never use anything else again.
