Neem/soap/water mixed well in a spray solution. Can also just buy the Neem spray off the shelf.

Slugs: copper foil around botton of stems/ dicotemous (sp?) earth (DE) around plants /lime around plants

(if using 5 gal buckets, try running a few silicone beads around your bucket (parallel to ground) right next to each other and get DE covering all the silicone. This might keep the slugs from crawling up the buckets.

Other bugs: hot pepper wax spray

Chicken wire fencing works great for deer. try to paint it or burn off the shiny coating before using so it doesn't give your spots away. If worried a lot about mice, you can use 'snake wire' in the first foot or so of fencing to keep the mice out.

All good advice above...

However, planting in a bucket is a dead give away. Your average citizen can walk right by a mj plant in the ground and not be able to discern it from surrounding vegetation BUT, a plant growing from a camo bucket might get a bit more attention...

Secondly, a 5 gal bucket outdoors is bare minimum. You'll probably be rootbound by flower then you'll be running water out to her every other day. A ten gallon hole in the ground will vastly increase the quality of the bud and the yield as well.

Bamboo is great cover plant. Neem is good for bugs but Sevin is better- don't spray it on the mj- surrounding veg only.
