This is the first one to open and there are 3 others pending. Looks like another state has joined, when will congress take control and do away with the interference of the DEA.

First Medical Marijuana Dispensary (Finally) Open in New Hampshire

CONCORD, NH — It took two years, nine months, and eight days, but New Hampshire’s medical marijuana patients finally have access to a safe, legal supply of cannabis.

On Saturday, the Granite State’s first medical marijuana dispensary, Sanctuary ATC in Plymouth, opened its doors to patients just one day after receiving their registration certificate to operate from state officials.

“When the Therapeutic Cannabis Program was established by the Legislature, it envisioned that people in New Hampshire suffering from serious medical conditions would be able to access therapeutic cannabis for relief,” said New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Commissioner Jeffrey A. Meyers in a statement issued Friday. “ I am very pleased to announce that with the opening of the Sanctuary dispensary in Plymouth, that day has arrived.”

New Hampshire’s long awaited medical marijuana program has been slow to implement since Maggie Hassan House Bill 523 bill into law on July 23, 2013. Finally, after years of delays and lawsuits, relief is in sight for patients.

“There were no celebrations in 2013 when this law was passed because we knew it would be a long time before any patients could benefit and we knew some patients could not afford to wait for safe, legal access to cannabis,” said the Marijuana Policy Project’s Matt Simon, a New Hampshire resident, in an email to supporters. “Today, now that a dispensary is open and now that over 600 patients have been issued ID cards protecting them from arrest, we believe it is finally time to declare victory! We will, of course, continue pushing for further improvements to the law.”

Three more dispensaries will in New Hampshire later this year. Temescal Wellness is expected to open two locations in Dover and Lebanon within the next few weeks. Merrimack’s Prime ATC is expected to open later this summer.

New Hampshire was the 19th state to enact a comprehensive medical marijuana program. Five additional states have passed comprehensive medical marijuana laws since then.

YAY!!!! Progress!!

LIVE FREE OR DIE....it is possibly the best-known of all state mottos, partly because it speaks to an assertive independence historically found in American political philosophy and partly because of its contrast to the milder sentiments found in other state mottos.

(got that from wiki)
