unfortunately my environment's too lit-up urban for flowering,
and so have to bring 'em in for 13 hours for a "night".
they were in 3 gal. smart pots.

here's what i've grown by ace/cbg: orient express, viet.blackxthai,
panama dc, nepal haze, greenHazeThai, purpleHazeThai and taskenti.
with many more varieties in the fridge waiting- oldtimers, punto rojo, bangi, etc.

i think the next seeds i crack will be the crosses:
GHxTf3 x (johnnyblazef2 x GHxTf3)
nevilsHaze x (johnnyblazef2 x GHxTf3)
orientExpress x viet.black thai

Brutal, Ive benn there; bringing plants in and out and trying not to fuck up a schedule that would be so simple if life would stop getting in the way, lol.

O.E. x V.BlkXthai should be epic. Which way did the father lean?

J.B. X G.H.xThai should produce some great fathers to make hashplant clones more happy and enjoyable. Ive always wanted to use F-13 to bring happiness to heavy strains that have been great medicinally but are just too agro.

haze sisters

had to cut all the girls at 10.5 wks of 11d/13n due to
the spider mites coming back. here are:
top left, nevilsHaze
bot left, greenHaze x thai F3 keeper cut
right, thai-nepal haze from the 10 wk
flowering plant (vs 8.5 wk plant) harvested nov. 1st...

their seeded stems are still in flower, needing another coupla
weeks to finish- so the seeds get the shining. since they won't be smoked i can
get reeeal ugly with the pest control to see 'em the rest of the way thru.
really looking forward to them-
both girls on the left got hit w/ "lemon seeder" pollen, pic'd here previously.

the thai-nepal hazes are really clearing up after a good cure.
their high was previously a little murky/foggy, but now cleaner/
clearer with nice sativa caffeine energy, but jitter-free. the nepalese
component now just seems to add some "smooth", without fogging up things.

currently beginning (from seed, and they're germ'ing nicely) a small
selection of pure green OT haze ladies to find one i can use to make
feminized crosses with.
my thai-nepal haze hack, which seems optimally harvested at 9 wks.,
will be the first to get the reversed pollen.

bangi haze and my GHxTf3 x (johnnyblazeF2 x GHxTf3) hack will probably
be the next to get that fem'd pollen, but i'll have to do a selection of those
strains first, to find good ladies for it.
i made some (GHxTf3)bx1 seeds, and am looking forward to see
if i can get some hybrid vigor when hit with that same rev'd pollen.

been vaping some GHxTf3, and am reminded how much cleaner/clearer
the high is compared to dispensary weed, or even my thai-nepal haze.

I'm glad to see you are advancing with your haze hybrid selections and that you are finding more tamed style of plants with the type of effects you are looking for.

Regarding your sativa hybrid project. Did you ever consider to add a good african sativa to the mix ? A cross between a good Zamaldelica female and your selected haze hybrids should produce something really interesting.

Low Falutin, I had fun reading your thread. Very nice pictures and reports. I may try a few tropical strains next year.I'm working my way into the long flowering tropicals slowly. I may do 3 or 4 with some 15 to 17 week Central American sativa's next summer. Then I will try the 20+ week ladies. Peace

thanks for stopping by, dubi. i've got bangi haze, ghana, and now durban in the house (and some remaining zamaldelica seeds).
i'm more tempted to cross them with an inbred line like pure green OThaze than one of my poly-hybrids, in order to get F1 hybrid vigor.
a fellow icmag'r here's been gracious to offer a skinny-leaved bangi haze pheno to work with, which'll get both pure OThaze and durban pollen.

here are my thai-nepal haze (bad santa cut) clone, left.
and pure green OT haze. 6-7 wks. from seed, right...

...living on nothing but soil, water, and sun, so far.
noticed a bit of variegation on a couple of the OThazes.

being able to wait until these long-flowerers have moved to alternating phyllotaxy and shown sex before
kicking off flowering (w/clones) using an 11/13 light schedule will help cut down that flower/frustration time.

the hybrid vigor comes from the heterosis. By crossing your Green Haze Thai hybrid again with Green Haze the outcome will be a more endogamic kind of cross, it will be vigorous like any straight haze cross, but most probably it will bring back again the very long haze flowering times, lanky structures and worst indoor adaptability that you have been selecting against in your hybrid.

You will probably find more hybrid vigor by crossing your GHT hybrid with other non related sativas, like for example with the african sativas you have commented previously. Stability is an entirely different discussion to the hybrid vigor.

i think there may have been some misunderstanding with my understanding of- and goals for- my crosses.

my thai-nepal haze (nepalHaze F1 x GHxT F3) keeper cut is done at 9 wks... still has a quite a bit of nepalese influence.
she'll be perfect for crossing to a pure green haze, for a resulting SE asian-oriented line with various flowering times to sort thru.
i haven't necessarily been selecting for short flowering times, just the best high.
and some indoor adaptability by stressing them here and there.

that 1st plant above, GHT x LS, is the side-branchier of the two,
below left...

...with a slightly more robust stem.

the OHSk1 x LS, right, wants to be columnar, has slightly narrower leaves,
& is slightly darker green. it carries over some of the lemon seeder male's
cedar aroma. the GHT x LS has no cedar aroma at this point.

unpictured is my neville's haze x lemon seeder. it's around 1/3 shorter
than the other two, has wider leaves, and comes closest to the lemon
seeder's lemon-cedar aroma, but not quite as loud. the NH mum used
had a clear action-oriented high, with no raciness or paranoia, but it
could make your neck muscles tighten up.

kinda strong.

all three are just wrapping up week 2 of 11/13 today.
they've been under a 6x4ft T5 array up to now,
and will move under hps sometime this week.

working w/ lemon seeder male @ 8 wks of 11/13

lemon seeder is (johnny blaze F2) x (grnHazeThai F3).

had to take down the oHazeSk#1 x lemon seeder cross at 7 wks
due to early and frequent hermis. in the curing jar she's giving
off balsa-wood aromas, like some of the johnny blazes i've grown.

grnHazeThai F3 x lemon seeder has the loveliest aroma-
primarily childrens' chewable aspirin, with a little bit of berry sweetness...

already mapping out her re-veg. low-yielder (like some of her johnny blaze F2 relatives),
but seems to be a quick finisher, as she's got many cloudy trichs and brown pistils.
did i mention how lovely her aroma is?

slower moving, but yielding more is the nevilles haze x lemon seeder cross...

...spilling out oodles of noodles from her columnar structure.
aroma had been mostly cracked black pepper,
but now some light lemoniness is creeping in.
also will be re-vegged.
