Pure Thai Seeds?

The goal here is to find the 100%, untampered, Thai strains with those special, soaring, seering, synesthesia, trippy, psychedelic genetics.

Hopefully this thread inspires commercial seed providers to hop on a plane and travel by donkey to make these wonderful genetics available again without watering the genetics down with short-cycle indicas and other continents since it seems there is an agenda to disappear the highest highs of sativa and couch-lock the globe.

To start I discovered Mama Thai with Seedsman is crossed with Skunk for example so I am not interested in that style Thai.

I will list names/breeder/links so in the event someone has knowledge of said strain then those are seeds worthy of ordering immediately.

What is it that makes Thai so special? THCV gives African strains that high energy but what is it in the Thai? High CBN and THCV? CBG?

I realize there are other seed websites so please if you know of other providers/strains I will add to this list but for the sake of debate right now I am scouring Seedsman.com to launch the search for something on order today. Again I am excluding all Thai with skunk crosses (Blue thai, purple haze x thai, etc) and if I listed one that does not fit the bill let me know.

As an aside Seedsman was offering a "Thai" strain, separate from their Mama Thai, available in 100 seed pack, that is now removed from the website in the last 48 hours or so. Why?

As of right now I have discovered no pure Thai strains though there are pure sativas crossed with Thai and will be listed here shortly.

I can't comment on the final product yet, but I am sitting on a pack of Wild Thailand from World of Seeds; as far as I know, it is not "tampered with skunk". It cannot quite claim to be strictly a landrace since they reproduced it, but, according to them, it could perhaps be considered an "inbred line" raised on the same small island for centuries.

Since you linked it, you probably know as much about it as I do, so all I'm really saying is I was interested enough to give it a try. Not planted these yet for the simple reason I don't have the luxury of allowing two meters tall plants.

Seedsman is perhaps giving away a lot of things due to their contest.

You are right these kind of sativas are less commercially viable; "takes too long", might be too fluffy or foxtailed, relatively low yield on some strains, etc. Many of them seem to under-perform indoors or simply require more power than a lot of rigs can provide. Probably works best if you can sow a whole field and no one will disturb it cause they have their own fields.

There is an article from the 70s on here somewhere, I forget by whom, saying, a lot of drugs can get you stoned. Marijuana is the only one that gets you high. And by that, he meant mostly sativas. You are right these kind of sativas are less commercially viable; "takes too long", might be too fluffy or foxtailed, relatively low yield on some strains, etc. Many of them seem to under-perform indoors or simply require more power than a lot of rigs can provide. Probably works best if you can sow a whole field and no one will disturb it cause they have their own fields.

There is an article from the 70s on here somewhere, I forget by whom, saying, a lot of drugs can get you stoned. Marijuana is the only one that gets you high. And by that, he meant mostly sativas. pure sativas take longer to flower and generally don't yield as well, afghan/skunk is a proven genetic to shorten flowering time and increase yield. people are in it for the money, there is no conspiracy.

I feel you, nowadays weed became a morphine/narcotic like drug instead of the trippy inspiring/creative drug it used to be. I guess the current social trends leaded to that, many people like to arrive home and switch off their brains after a long day getting stressed at work and so on, so the answer to that is stuff like Chemdog and all the new school heavy couchlocking hashplant hybrids.

Some people would smoke a nice NLD and they won't even feel they are high until they realize they are cleaning up the house or brainstorming like crazy while they are trying to relax/sleep... for them the standard for Cannabis is OG Kush and Chem hybrids (which is 90% of the modern genepool by the way). Most of my friends say "Hey dude, this shit is weak, I'm barely getting any stoned and the smell is so subtle". Since then I always save the best buds for those who appreciate them, while I give them the trendy dank hybrid jars for their own pleasure.

On the other hand it's good to see satties remaining as favourites among the elders with nostalgia from the 70s smokes and also the creative minds or youngsters with a more active lifestyle that demand cleaner daytime smokes that would inspire them, rather than getting them lazier and obnubilated.

As for the thais, I'd personally recommend you the Highland Thai from RSC, it's probably one of the bests you could get nowadays. Their Mango Thai and Mekong used to be fantastic too... and their Manipuri just has the perfect mix from Thai and Indian ganja.

You could find interesting soothing effects in some other genepools as Hazes, Africans, Mexicans, Indians and so on. And I think it's all about the particular terpene figerprint that tropical NLDs have, not about any fancy cannabinoids IMO, since there isn't a huge variation among those most of the times.

Conspiracy or simply business. The fact is all really pure sativas/NLD are facing their extinction. They are actually endangered even in their own countries. Mexico, Jamaica, Colombia,... once known and renowned for the high quality sativas. Now are growing the same stinking crap you can get on the streets of any Western country grown by newbies in a cabinet.

For me the saddest thing is that the worst enemy is not the government or the police which chop the plants. They cannot chop all the plants from an entire country. Chopping plants can reduce the genepool but don't shift the strain towards Afghan or Kush. The worst enemy for the good ganja sativa is within the people who grow them and decide to grow foreing or new overhyped seeds. The problem is so stupid you can see farmers growing hybrids outdoors in Toribio-Colombia using lights to increase the vegetative cycle to avoid dwarf plants with a ridiculous harvest. The worst enemy are the narcos who choose speed instead high quality and give modern hybrid seeds to farmers. Also they have some relationships with antidrug agencies like some entrepreneurs who spread low quality hybrids in traditional ganja growing countries. Also customers who are willing to pay for anything to smoke and they don't reject they new and worse strains.

We have new autoflowering strains you cannot keep alive in vegetative stage. Also we have the two thing combined together. So no seeds and no mothers or clones.

As if it is not enough we have people asking for low THC, high CBD plants which were called simply hemp not so long ago. And they are willing to pay for those seeds or for the oil from those buds which were considered waste stubble a few years ago.

About really true sativas I think you can still get GN Luang Prabang from Laos. There was Thai Stick also from GN. And as Mustafunk said from TRSC.

No,my experiences with WOS germination ratio are bad....but i had look on web her plants,thai and columbian,and you can find some pheno from nld long flowering sativa to mostly indica type.
My opinion is that many thai strain of today coming from the super thai x skunk from highquality seeds,a seedbank of late '90,now closed....

I don't see a conspiracy or anything promoted by the government in this case, I think this idea is just silly.

I am well aware of people like Arjan going seed hunting and handing out modern hybrids to the farmers there. I'm still waiting to see what made out of these excursions with GHS.

It's easy to see why some farmers would replace pure 20 week sativas with genetics that will allow for 3 harvests during that time.

A lot of people just want to get fucked up, they don't care about the plant or clear effects, they want to be stuck to their couch drooling.

let's be honest, most of the growing population doesn't want to wait over 120 days for something to smoke, it's a minority that will wait this long for a pure sativa. also not all people who want to grow can do so indoors and if you live anywhere about 40N you're at the mercy of the seasons, that's why some people want autoflowering seeds.

and there's nothing wrong with high CBD genetics, people enjoy hash plant effects sometimes, it depends on their moods.

but to answer OPs question. TRSC is probably the only option or ACE seeds if you want to dig through sativa hybrids and not have to deal with indica influences. I wouldn't grow anything from WOS their finishing times don't make sense for Thai strains.

Couchlock effect depends on the terpene profile mainly caused when high in Myrcene or Linalol.You can still find sativa's 90% pure or more.

This is a classic South Indian ganja strain with a strong and stimulating 'sativa' high.

Kerala is a region with one of the world's most ancient and respected traditions of cannabis cultivation. This strain comes from the equatorial southern end of the Indian highlands known as the Western Ghats, in a region named Idukki - one of the most famous historic centres of ganja cultivation.

These plants are true tropical sativas that grow between two to four metres tall, with characteristic bamboo-like leaves. Buds are loose, airy and resinous with a minty, peppery and fruity aroma, yielding a pungent sweet smoke. The Kerala high is renowned for its energising positivity.

Kerala cultivars are typically planted around June to July and harvested from December to early February. Allow three to four months of flowering for optimum results. The best plants will show very good potency, and all will have the characteristic Kerala high.

A recent test of one plant reported 17.63% THC (or 14.86% THC, depending on how the result is interpreted).
