I used to have a AAA membership, Jelly, it's useful if you need a tow for your car. Once a year you get a free tow if your car breaks down, the membership ($40 or 50) is cheaper than if you paid for the tow yourself.

I was thinking dark horse/success meant which teams would see the most wins improvement next year. Miami finished 7-9 last year so a 5 win improvement would mean they go 12-4 next year, which is very unlikely imho. But Arizona, at 2-14, if they improve by 5 wins that’s 7-9 next year. Browns went from 1 win to 7-8-1 last year, so a 6 win (and 1 tie) improvement. Bears went from 5 wins to 12 wins last year with all new receivers, new coach, and Khalil mack. I think the Cards could do something similar if kyler and the new offense are league average or better. Ur right tho, the rams are probably the best team in the conference, seahawks are playoff caliber, 49ers might be good again, so it’ll be tough for ‘zona, but having a competent offense will be big for them.

Any specific reason why u think kyler murray isn’t going to be that good? Is it a height thing, or a size thing? He’s small, and short, true, but like Russell Wilson he’s got that baseball background so I think he’ll be good at sliding when he’s running, to avoid hard tackles. I think the arm talent is there as well, accuracy and strength are good enough to be successful in the pros, but I guess we wont know for certain till he plays.

So youre still working out the proposed bets: if Oakland wins or doesn’t win the AFC west, pizza is on the line, and/or if they finish .500 or worse he owes you burgers, if they finish better than .500 you buy the burgers? And if Oakland finishes better or worse than your dark horse, im assuming your dark horse team finished similar or worse to Oakland last year (4 wins)?
They all sound reasonable, especially if he doesn’t mind treating you guys to food anyway, so not like anything serious is at stake. Maybe you need to adjust the odds a bit for tougher bets, like the raiders winning the division: if they win you owe him pizza AND beer, if not he just owes you pizza. You know, how like casinos give bad odds on easy bets, like if you bet $100 the patriots win 8 games this season, you’ll only win $20, not $100.

Yeah, I was doing some research on JitB since we don’t have any here, and I think one poll said that if cannabis were ever legalized nationwide, JitB would be the restaurant that benefits the most. I could easily imagine being high and going to their drive thru and ordering a munchie box. Some of their sandwich creations seem like they were dreamed up by stoners: a burger like a big mac, with 3 bread slices, only the bread is made of grilled sourdough and the top layer is melted cheese and mozzarella sticks, bottom layer is burger with Lettuce tomato pickles and cheese ? How can something be both horrifying and satisfying at the same time?
I do remember going to JitB once when we were out west, same trip where I went to I&O. I recall it being decent greasy food, I think maybe I got their sourdough burger? But I didn’t get their tacos. I think ur lucky living in the SD area, that’s where JitB started and their HQ is, so I think all of the locations around that area are pretty good, they give you hot fresh food. I’d totally love to smash some jitb tacos and burgers with you and Hawk some day, that would be wild. Get drunk and high and just scarf down unhealthy amounts of greasy food, nothing more enjoyable, well until you feel it the next day in your head and stomach. :)

There’s this chain here called Checker’s/Rally’s (same restaurant and food, different names although the color scheme is the same) and they only have locations in, shall we say, ‘lower income’ areas, they have cheap greasy food that hits the spot. They have these seasoned fries that are pretty good, I think theyre the same as seasoned fries you can buy in grocery stores, but ive never seen them at other fast food places. But they fry it in the same oil as their funnel cakes (yes they sell funnel cakes) so whenever you get their fries it almost smells like a donut in your car. It sort of messes with the taste a bit too but I don’t notice it too much imo. I keep thinking maybe jitb is the same sort of thing as checkers/rallys, just cheap greasy fast food that hits the spot when ur drunk/high, although Im sure jitb is better than that, plus they have a bigger selection. But if you want a good amount of food for $5-6 or less, these are the places you go to.

oh man, when i was going to school there was a rally burger not too far from campus
they had decent burgers but they were super cheap like you said
i would get three rally burgers and those seasoned fries for less than $5
jitb has a decent menu with a lot of choices so they have something for everyone
im usually just about the burgers/ fries but will occasionally get one of their more exotic offerings ; the mrs loves their jalapeno poppers
yeah jitb is based out of san diego and a freidn of mine goes to their corporate kitchen every now and then to test out new food for them
they give you a bunch of food plus i think like $20 for a couple hours of your time but you cant take the food home with you and its always in the middle of the week/ middle of the day so i cant really make it
its on brother and you and hawk need to pack up into the car and haul ass out west one of these days
my friend was the one who proposed that the raiders would win the west, so there is one bet
i took it a step farther and said not only were they not going to win the west but they wont even finish above .500
so far those are the bets but im thinking i should play a dark horse team too, just to keep it fun
/i think it will just be whos dark horse finishes with a better overall record for the last bet
but like you said, its all in fun between friends so theres nothing really serious at stake
its hard to say why im not really a fan of murrays, but yeah i think hes undersized for the nfl and his playing style isnt one that really transitions well for most qbs
running qbs are good when they can scramble and buy time
it throws off the pass rush and makes it harder for the secondary to cover their man the longer the play goes on but you also run the risk of taking some big hits
m.vick was one of the greatest mobile qbs and as he progressed in the nfl, he learned to use his arm more than his legs
even the big guys with wheels are vulnerable and change their style after taking some big hits
i recall cam newton and how he would move around and cause all kinds of problems for the opposing defense;then in one game i remember the denver D just going ham on him and knocking the fight right out of his game plan
sure a lot of the hits he took were cheap shots but they totally changed his style of play
we will see how murray holds up but am just not buying into his game right now
hope your day is off toa great start brother
its almost the weekend

Yup, I had a rally's near me, they closed down and now there's only a checker's a few miles away. Not sure if there are any more rally's in IL, think it's all checker's now, but it's the same menu/company. Maybe their food is so cheap it's hard to keep locations open, but for a decent meal that's even cheaper than McD's or BK, it fills a niche. :)

Man, it's been ages since ive had a jalapeno popper. One of JitB's munchie meals looks like they had a burger with jalapeno poppers on top of the patty, topped with sliced jalapenos and cheese sauce. Seemed like it would be very spicy, but again, it's a creation straight out of the stoner's cookbook.

Is the food pretty good at the JitB test kitchen? If so, maybe it's worth it to take a vacation day to go down there and try out some new recipes, and take some home too. But maybe youre just fine with getting the food at the restaurants, which, like you say, really have a wide selection for a fast food place, and also seem to have interesting LTO's (limited time offerings) regularly.

It's a pipe dream to think we'll make it out there, Pop, but it would certainly be sweet. In the meantime though we can always just get high/drunk, enjoy football and some good food at home and pretend we're all hanging out together. That's the beauty of the interwebs.

Your bets sound pretty reasonable and if they help keep your interest in the season they'll have fulfilled their purpose. Like fantasy football, nothing is on the line in my leagues other than a tshirt or cheap trophy but it helps keep you focused on each week's results.

Another possible dark horse is San Fran. With a healthy Garappolo and a good draft headlined by Nick Bosa, they could see 8-9 wins next year, maybe more. True, with the rams and hawks in the division, it wouldnt be easy, but if the niners are good again they could go 1-1 vs each team. If your friend dislikes the niners because of their regional rivalry with oakland, that might be a good dark horse.

U make some good points about running qb's. I remember Vick, it was his first full year being the Eagle's starter, he was running towards a score and got crunched between 2 defenders at the goal line. He had to come out and had badly bruised ribs afterwards, had to miss a few games and wasnt the same even when he came back. So yeah, for all his vaunted passing and running ability, he just couldnt handle the punishment he was taking.

I think cam's issue was not so much the hits he took while running, although they dont help, especially last year when he had the bum shoulder, but in 2016, the year after his mvp season, he took some helmet to helmet hits in the pocket that werent called penalties. I think it's because he's so big and strong that hits that would knock out a weaker QB dont seem to hurt him much, like how lebron and shaq in the nba take a lot of contact but arent given foul calls.

I think kyler is going to scramble to find open receivers and run when he can avoid big hits, but ur right, his success mostly depends on how well he can pass from the pocket. Brady barely rushes for any positive yardage (he broke 1000 career rushing yds just last year, his 17th season?) but he's won 6 titles cause he can carve up a zone like no one else. We'll see how kyler does, one worry with him is that he only started only 1 year at Oklahoma (and parts of one year at Texas A&M). Baker mayfield at least started 3 yrs at OK and parts of 1 year at Texas Tech.

i read somewhere that the number of games started in college and w/l record are the best indicators of success in the nfl
the more games played (and of course more wins) are what you look for
we will see how he transitions to the bigs but for now im not on board
yeah brother, that was the season
it started off with denver and conitnue through out the year, they said that because he took off and became a runner he wasnt subject to the same rules you would have given a stationary qb
but yeah, a lot of those hits were helmet to helmet and a bunch more were late/ cheap
we will see how murray does in the bigs but i read somewhere today that the cards will pretty much be the underdog in most of their games this season
i know you guys arent heading out west anytime soon, just having fun and all
but like you said, there is nothing stopping us from enjoying ourselves and having fun like we have been
i really have enjoyed our little corner of the webs and have fun talking football with you
one of the cool things about jack is they are always coming out with the lto's
it keeps people coming back and every now and then one of the new things will make its way into the regular rotation
the only problem with the munchie meals is they are only available after 9p
if this was back in the day when i was younger i would have no problem stopping by that late
but as it is, im usually tucked in and drunk my that time or i just make something at home
/what a drag it it getting old!

Huh, i knew that # of college starts was a good indicator of nfl QB success but didnt know W/L record also factored in, although that makes a lot of sense. Was it Parcells that said you wanted a college qb who won a lot of games?
Then again, even # of college starts isnt that good of an indicator, lots of qb's started plenty of games in college but dont play much in the nfl, but i guess the point is that it's hard to find a Successful NFL QB that didnt also have a bunch of college starts.
That's what worried me about Trubisky, that he really only started 1 year at UNC. He was pretty good last year, for the most part, so im hoping he keeps getting better.

Yeah, cardinals are projected to be a bottom 3 team again, even after all the changes they made. Do u find it interesting that they hired a failed college head coach, kliff kingsbury, to be an NFL head coach? Like, usually it's the other way around: the league only hires the best college coachs (saban, spurrier), and the nfl coaches who got fired are hired by colleges (mike sherman of the packers went to Texas A&M, Wannstedt of the bears went to Pitt).
I guess it's all about offensive innovation and bringing the wide open college passing game to the league, which is a passing league now. And kingsbury's failing at texas tech were all on defense, so if he's got a good coordinator and talent on D he should be ok. Although with patrick peterson getting a 6 game PED suspension, it'll make things tougher on defense.

Who knows if one of us will ever make it out there? Stranger things have happened. :)

I thought munchie meals were available all day, but after 9pm theyre $2 cheaper? I guess paying $8 instead of $6 removes a lot of the value of the box tho, might be cheaper to get something else and add tacos to it...

I figure as we get older that our hours just change, now we sleep earlier but get up earlier and we're still awake the same # of hours. True, we miss out on all the late night activities, but now we get to experience all the early morning stuff. Which, im not sure it's an even trade off, but it's something...

it good advice about wanting a winning college qb, the big tuna knew football and had a good eye for talent
i think trub has the raw material for being an nfl qb, so i wasnt as worried about his history
he is a big dude with a strong arm so i can see him doing well if given the right team around him and the time to learn an offense
we will see how murray does in az, but they are a team with a lot of moving parts and who knows how its all going to fit together
add in the fact that they just brought in a hot new rookie qb (one that dident get cheap) and then kicked him out the door after just one year...
just sounds like an organisation in disarray
maybe one day i will make my way back east
out here they have the late night meals, it looks like they are the same things as the munchie meals
i guess i had my names confused but they are the same things i guess
mostly nights im pretty drunk/high by 8-9p or at least to the point where i dont want to get behind the wheel
/once i change into some comfy pants and sandles im not really going out anywhere i cant get to on foot
yeah i dont stay up as late as i used to when i was young and i kind of enjoy getting up earlier now and having the morning all to myself
i guess its all kind of same stuff , different time; but i still have fun
hope your week is off toa great start baba'
/and you too hawk

Ur right, Trubisky’s main strength is his physical talent, his ability to scramble and run is elite. His passing for the most part is decent to good, but he tends to overthrow receivers more than you’d like to see. Maybe it’s cause his arm is strong, like you said, or maybe it’s more of a throwaway than an attempt to complete it, but it’s something for him to work on for next year.

Yeah, one of us will be wrong and the other right about what ‘Zona does this year. How about if I win (they win 7 games or more) you have to take 12 huge bong rips in one night, and if you win (they win 4 games or less) I’ll have to do something similar, only with edibles? If they win 5-6 games we’ll call that a push.

But ur right, they had a highly drafted QB, one they traded up for, and now they ditched him to go with another, even more highly drafted QB. Im not sure any team has ever done that before, used a top 10 pick on a QB only to start over with another top 10 pick at QB one year later.

I think that’s what theyre called, late night meals. I was watching some of those JitB commercials geared towards stoners and theyre pretty spot on, as far as targeting that demographic. “I want 99 tacos for 2 cents.” LOL

I hear you about settling in once ur home for the evening. Change into ur ‘house’ clothes, get some food and refreshments, then settle in front of the tv or computer for the night. The damn house would have to be fire to get me to leave.
I don’t often go to bed before 10pm, unless ive been drinking. And ur right, having that early morning time before things start to get busy, that’s a nice relaxing way to get the day started.

the commercials are one of the best things about jitb
them and carls jr usually have the best commercials and use humor and sex to target their prime demographic
im gald im not the only one who changes into the comfy clothes once i get home
its like the official end of my day and once the hoodie and track pants goes on im pretty much done
/the deal is really sealed once ive had that first drink and sparked up
i think trubs will continue to develop and should be a decent pro caliber qb; hes not quite the guy to lead the team to big wins but he plays his position and as long as he dosent make mistakes should fit well into the bears overall game plan
right now i see the defense leading the team but i am interested in seeing how your new rb works into the rotation
i like the sound of a fun bet, we could keep it really simple with an over/under type wager
say 8 games? the prize sounds like fun too or maybe we could go with a sig line one
/something fun but not too offensive
so the raiders picked up cincy defender votaze burfect
i like the guys intensity but he takes a lot of cheap shots
i think he is still a force on the field and could be especially disruptive against a slow old man rivers
those will be some interesting games for sure

Ill have to check out some of those carls jr commercials. We don't have carls jr's around here, but we do have some hardee's (think theyre the same restaurant, different names) but theyre not common. There was a hardee's in the burbs around here but the only time i went to it, the food was so bad we actually asked for a refund and got it. That time we ate in, which is rare for us. That location closed down like a year or so later, and no wonder if the food was so bad even i asked for my money back. :comfort:

I like hoodies but never done track pants but they sure look comfortable. May have to look into a pair this winter.

Do you do t shirts and shorts when it's warm, or do you blast the a/c so you still wear pants and hoodies during the summer?

It's never been too big an issue for me to drive stoned, but getting a few drinks in you you definitely dont want to get behind the wheel unless it's an absolute emergency. And you seem like a pretty good cook so any munchies you get can get taken care of at home, with food thats probably better than most restaurants.

Trubisky struggled to move the ball against the eagles in their playoff game, but he did make a pretty nice completion on a long pass to set up the potential game winning FG. Obviously it didnt work out, but i figure a young QB wont be at their peak till year 4 or 5. Does that sound about right? Although, QBs like mahomes and marino who had superb 2nd years may not follow that pattern.

We could do the O/U at 8 games, although that seems high for a team coming off a 2 win season.

We could do a Sig bet; Im not even sure if the links in my current sig even work anymore. Also, 12 big bong hits seems a bit much, even if you spread them out during the day. You want to at least be functional while youre awake.

Yeah, I think you'll see a lot of signings this month, because after may 7 teams can sign free agents without having to lose compensatory picks in next year's draft: if you lose a free agent this year, youll get a compensatory pick next draft, like in the 90's so equivalent to a low 3rd or high 4th rd pick. But if you sign a free agent, you lose a compensatory pick (assuming you have one), unless you sign them after may 7th (i think goes by a certain # of days after the draft) in which case you wont lose it. It seems needlessly complicated, but what it boils down is that youll see a lot of the middle and lower class of free agents sign this month.

Burfict has lost 4M in salary to fines and suspensions for his illegal hits (and PED positive tests), but he's probably also lost some brain cells because he's suffered 7 concussions himself. I guess the raiders signed him because their DC used to be the bengal's DC; not sure how much of a threat he is to rivers, does he rush the passer that much? Maybe hunter henry needs to be worried more, he seems to get easily injured and burfict could go for his knees, that's actually a legal hit since you cant go for the head anymore.

yeah carls jr and hardees are the same place
i guess its kind of hit and miss with them, a lot depends on the crew behind the counter
we have one just down the road, but i dont really eat there that often because ive gotten bad food and service there a few times
the ones i want to try are the ones with the green buritto in them, the have the same menu as carls but also a full on mexican menu like taco bell; its two resturants in one!
i think they have a kfc like that around here too, with kfc and another place tucked into the same building
adidas three strip brother! im rocking some of them right now
i ahve a bunch of complete suits, pants with the jacket to match but dont wear the jackets most of the time
no, in the warmer months i wear shorts and flip flops
shirts are optional around here when the weather gets nice
i like to wear some logoed t's , used to be chargers but now its rams and stuff with various other logos i get
most of the time im skinnin' it
the girl used to get horrified when her friends would come over and me and her brother would sit around in shorts and flip flops
the middle boy lifts heavy on the regular and eats like hes in training 24/7 so hes pretty cut and im still holding my own for an older guy
we dont have ac (other than a portable room cooler) but i dont mind heat
/especially when im half dressed
that would be fun to have a little bet here with the teams next season and a sig bet would be cool
nothing too heavy, just a little sentence or two in your sig line
/i would go with an avitar bet maybe, but we both have sweet signage ( i look for the horse toothed jackass pic when i hit up the thread)
we could still roll witha bong hit bet too, it would be fun for the pics if nothing else
lets think about it and have some fun
so i was giving the dark horse team some thought and think i might have a couple
the leaning towards jax turning things around this season or the bucs getting back on track
if i had to choose right now im all about jax returning to form but tampa bay just signed suh
im not sure hes the piece they need to turn things around but its a step in the right direction
i think jax is going to be lead by the defense but chubbed up under center with nick foles
/jax was gifted a great prospect in the draft landing j.allen
maybe not as dark as some teams but im not hitching my wagon to the jets or az, thats for sure
hope your week is startihng to wrap up nicely and you are all ready for the long weekend
any plans in mind brother?
whatever it is i hope you have a fun and relaxing weeknd!

Yeah, sometimes even the same restaurant can have wildly varying food quality from one day to the next, depending on the shift’s cooks. I went to a checkers a couple weeks ago, late night, had some hot fresh greasy food that hit the spot, went to the same checkers recently around dinner time, burgers were lukewarm and sad. Again, went through drivethru and didn’t feel like going back, although the dogs ate well. :comfort:

We’ve got some combination taco bells/KFC’s, ive never actually ordered both tacos and fried chicken when there, just one or the other. Maybe im not taking full advantage of my opportunity?

Those adidas track suits are iconic, and they make high quality gear. Theyre made out of some sort of nylon or polyester, right, like superstrong but very slick and soft and comfortable? Ill have to look into getting me a set, not sure if I can pull it off outside but inside ill be pimping.

Heh, im rocking the dad bod nowadays so not sure I can pull off going shirtless round the house, and that’s with only the woman around, not young ladies. But I hear san diego is pretty temperate during the summer, doesn’t get too crazy hot like LA, so going shirtless with minimal a/c is probably the way to go, especially if there’s a nice breeze present.

What kind of sig bets are you thinking? Like bets praising the winner, or the winner’s favorite team?

Jacksonville with a new QB is primed for a rebound season, although I think they lost some defensive starters. They cut malik Jackson, a DT, for cap purposes, but they still have Calais Campbell and Yannick ngakoue on the D-line, and like you mentioned they got Josh Allen in the draft at #7 overall when most experts thought he would be gone by then. Im not sure about nick foles as a full time starter though, he started last season when wentz was still recovering from his knee injury and wasn’t that impressive, but played well later when wentz went down with a back injury.

I think the jets with leveon might be interesting, leveon is a top 3-5 RB, and with a healthy quincy Enunwa and a new offensive coach maybe sam darnold can ball out next year. Jets are going through some internal turmoil, however, they fired their GM and the new head coach, adam gase, took over interim GM duties.

It’s supposed to rain a lot this weekend so not sure how much I can do but hopefully ill be busy.

so speaking of dark horses, where do you think the 9ers fall on the spectrum?
a friend was saying how they are way darker than jax but i think as long as jimmyG stays healthy they should be all right
i think they face the same problem as az playing in the nfc west, (rams x2, sea x2) but they should be an improved team
yeah nick foles...
mes kind of like fitzmagic where hes going to give you about four really good starts, and prob four bad games; but what about the other eight?
coming off a 5-11 season i think they will only get better led by their defense
/solid front line, good mid section and a mean secondary
plus dom capers is back on the coaching staff so even if the offense isnt burning down the house the defense will hopefully keep them in the close games
i was looking at their schedule and can see them starting off slow but they should be able to rack up some wins here and there
we are lucky that we live close enough to the coast that we get a nice breeze in the afternoon, if you went a couple miles inland the temps really start to climb
yeah those are the pants,i have some old suits and they are definitely made of a different material, more cotton i think
you can score full sets on amazon for like $40-50 bucks depending on the color
i usually wear just the pants part but sometimes you want to rock the look
you are selling yourself short baba and could totally pull this off man!
yeah a line or two about the winner would be fun, nothing too offensive or bad but just a go rams of something ike that
we got some time so if you want to get creative im all in!
hope you have a great long weekend brother, its summer time!

Hey Hawk good to hear from you! Sorry to hear youre having a crisis, life sometimes punches you in the gut, I know from experience. Hope ya’ll pull through though.
Bears had a minicamp where they had 8 kickers try out a 43yd FG and only 2 of them made it. Yeah, not inspiring a whole lot of confidence, but there’s a lot of time till real games start…
I think ur dad does drink too much if he thinks next years team will be better than the 85 one. But we’ll see, I have high hopes.

If garappolo starts week 1 and stays healthy all year I could see the 49ers doing pretty well, maybe winning 8 games or more. Despite investing heavily in their D-Line the last few drafts their run D wasn’t great, but now with Nick Bosa at Edge rusher they can move soloman Thomas inside, to his more natural position. If their D can be stout again they have a chance to be special, maybe better than the hawks but still behind the rams.
Not sure why foles was better coming off the bench with the eagles, I think he’s more consistent than Fitzmagic and keeps turnovers lower. Ur right, if he can make a play or two and avoid TO’s, with that D and run game they should be very good.
I know packers fans weren’t too happy with dom capers Defense the last few years (he was their DC from 09-17), but he’s just a sr defensive asst with the jags so maybe he wont be calling plays. He’ll also have more overall talent and less injuries than he did with the pack, and no matter how good a coach u are you cant make chicken s!@# into chicken salad.

Yeah, it’s sort of the same here, the lake keeps things cooler and breezier, especially when summer starts, but I imagine with the ocean the effect is more pronounced.

Ill have to look into the track suits online, maybe in the summer they’ll be a bit cheaper if demand is less. I’ll probably wear the whole outfit during the winter, I keep the stat at like 65 cause im cheap. The woman constantly complains but the dogs like it.

yeah good to see you hawk
sucks about the crisis man;we cant choose the cards life deals, but you just play them the best you can
i guess im half as drunk as your dad because i think he is right, this years bears defense will be something special

the 9rs have a decent team if garappolo is there and the defense takes a step forward
i think nick bosa is going to bring the same intensity as his brother and should be a force from day one; plus he will also bring up the guys around him
i see foles as a place holder until jax can find its new franchise qb, but i think he can win a few games and keep things interesting while the defense develops
good point about capers;you are right that he totally has way more pieces on the board in jax and we will see how they play this next year
whats on the menu this weekend baba'
we are heading to my buddies house later today for dinner and bringing a potato casserole thing and a poke cake
/i havent had a poke cake since i was in jr.high home ec.!
but its y buddies birthday and him and the mrs got started talking cake...

Yeah Hawk, so long as you keep chiming in once in a while, let us know youre still around, we’ll be happy.

Joey’s brother seems like hes the most pro-ready of the rookie defensive players, and if he stays healthy all season he’ll probably win rookie of the year.

Foles is 30, if he plays well for 5-7 years he’ll be more than a stop gap starter for the jags, but ur right, if he’s not worth the $$ they paid for him (22M/yr, 2 years guaranteed) they’ll move on and find a cheap QB in the draft.

Capers coached the packer’s D during their super bowl run in 2010-11, that was when clay Matthews was in his prime. Injuries and subpar drafting gutted that Defense starting 5 years ago and Capers coaching wasn’t able to compensate. Mike Pettine was the DC for the packers last year and they weren’t that much better (22nd in pts allowed vs 26th in capers’ last year) but maybe the offense not being great had something to do with it. Rodgers had a somewhat poor season by his standards last year.

When you said poke cake I thought you meant a sushi type cake. Ive had a spicy tuna roll appetizer that was shaped like a small round cake, with the fish, cabbage/carrots, edamame, avocado in different layers. Sort of an interesting take on traditional sushi, and poke bowls are supposed to be a hot new food craze.
But I looked up poke cake and those things look good, you can even use liquor as the ‘filling’ that you pour into the holes. Not sure if it’s possible to get drunk on rum cake, but sweets and liquor, my two favorite things in one dish? Sheeeee…iiiiitt….

I don’t think I ever took home ec in school, maybe I did but cant remember. I do remember taking shop in jr high, and my shop teacher was missing like 3 fingers, so u knew that when he talks about saws being dangerous u better pay attention.

yeah i took wood shop in school
/the teacher was cool and would let me sharpen my knifes with the classes stones
home ec was rad, a room filled with girls and your classwork often included food
last night the poke cake came out amazing! my friend went nutto over it and was eating huge slabs topped with ice cream
he liked it so much, when we said we would just leave him the pan and his face totally lit up!
/the cake good but it was too moist
the lady and girl love that po'ke stuff your talking about and they will eat it up in all styles;im not a fan of raw fish so im not really down
its funny you mention sweet drinks because last night my friends brother had this bottle of baileys that he was drinking
sweet, almost like an ice cream but anything more than a sip and i would have to take one of those lactose pills
but i guess you could soak a cake in something like that, or a kalua (for coffee flavor) and get a nice taste
i agree that n.bosa is the most pro-ready player in the draft
he did pull his leg in ots and might have to learn to harness his intensity, but i think hes going to be something special
i dont think foles is the qb of the future for the jags, but we will see how he plays this year
they dont really have much as far as proven players at qb so its all in on bdn this season
/checks the roster... im sure jax is going to be spending some extra time scouting qbs this year
so got any plans for later today? baba
we have some meat going and are going for a fun walk later today
hope you are enjoying the nice easy start to the week

Heh, ur shop teacher let you sharpen ur knives? Like a small pocket knife, or did you bring a big ass bowie knife to class?

Yeah, im trying to remember if I took home ec and I don’t think I did, I think id remember if I took a class with mostly girls. Plus, I don’t remember actually cooking anything, so…

Yeah, poke cake seems like it would be moist, with the liquid filling going into all the holes throughout the cake. What kind of frosting did you use for it? I like sweets but most cakes and cupcakes from the grocery store has this thick sugary frosting that is just too much for me. I prefer a less sweet buttercream frosting, it’s not so overpowering of the actual cake itself.

I think there’s some poke bowl type restaurants in Chicago now, haven’t been but the woman likes that stuff. Although I can just buy sashimi grade tuna at the Asian grocery store, they sell frozen blocks of red tuna for like $8, I once made the woman like 3-4 poke powls out of one block, she really enjoyed that.

Yeah, the irish cream liquor is best as a mixer, especially with coffee, and for baking with. It’s a little too sweet to drink on its own, but it does have 17% alcohol, half as strong as most hard liquor but a decent amount nonetheless.

I didn’t know nick bosa pulled his hamstring at mini-camp. Dang, he missed most of his last college season with a core muscle injury that needed surgery. Guess all those roids made his muscles too strong for his own good. But seriously, the best ability is availability, he could be JJ Watt 2.0 but if he cant stay healthy he doesn’t do the niners much good…

The sad thing is that if foles is halfway decent, they have a good D like you said, so they might win 6-8 games a year the next 2 years, meaning theyre not gonna get a shot at a top college QB unless they trade up. Tua, Fromm, Herbert all come out next year, Trevor Lawrence the year after that. They might be the answer to the jags at QB but they’ll all go top 5, probably, well maybe fromm might go top 10…

It’s been raining frequently so I haven’t had any grill time just yet but maybe once June hits and weather stays dry for a few days at a time I can do something about that.

happening baba'
i made some pork ribs on the smokey joe yesterday; indirect heat and wrapped in foil they came out pretty good
i ended up tearing a couple of the wrappers so they cooked a little faster than i had wanted but i still got a good three hours on a low heat
i need to work on my dry rub because i think they came out a bit too seasoned for me; a touch too spicy for my taste but the mrs loved them
man an block of sushi grade offers so many options, have you ever made your own hand rolls?
i got this plastic musubi box at a store we have called dyso (sp?) ;its like a 99yen store
they sell all these really cool japanese items for about $1 -$3, but the quality is way better than what you find at the dollar stores
place your sea weed wrapper in it, fill the box with your choice of toppings and cap it and you have this musubi thing that is really good
i dident have anything really good when i was a kid, mostly those buck knifes but the teacher was cool
i have a few nice blades now ranging from edc knives to full on zombie killer hand swords
/actually a 18" kershaw machette
so it sounds like foles might have had a family issue this past weekend
hes been excused from all otas but it dosent sounds like its something with him
also heard richie incognito got signed to the raiders! first v.burfect and now incognito; looks like they might be trying to resurrect the old raiders smash mouth playing style
i am thinking that with all the down time because of the injury, bosa was just pushing himself way too hard and trying to really make an impression with his new team
hopefully he will learn to manage some of that intensity and not over do it on practice
like you said he isnt helping the team taped up on the bench
hope you had a great holiday weekend and your week is off to a great start!
/tomorrow is already wed so we are ahead of the game brother
