Has anyone ever tried this beast? The 250W LED bulb with an E39 base.

"Traditional metal halide HPS usually are 60~80 Lm/W but the corn light can reach 135Lm/W at least double times"

Wondering if anyone has tried these in a hood, maybe for a veg room, since they are 6000k light temperature. I assume they would be equal to about ~500W of HID lighting?

"Need bypass or remove ballast, LED Corn Lights use LED Driver not ballast."

Hmmm, so something like this? https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/CE-RoHS-12V-24V-250W-constant_60706510467.html

They mean bypass your HPS ballast dawg, that bulb runs with no additional ballast needed.

6K is a great color for flower too.

Those are expensive, 50 cents a watt, I have one of these and it's really bright, 300 watts, $60 bucks I'm loving it and want to try the 500 watt version when I get paid again...

I have one of their 100 watt panels also and it is also really bright and only $25.

If I had the extra cash I'd get more Nanolux 315 CMH for my veg but the upfront cost per watt is out of my budget now.

One of the main advantages of LED lighting is the generated light is all directed at the plants. Using a hood and bouncing photons around is going to decrease the efficiency.

Though it may be interesting for a donut grow, I wouldn't waste money on it in a hood.

I have a kill a watt coming to check that, I bought 3 different types of led shop lights, flood lights, ect to try in my new space last month and I'm curious as to power draw.

These led stadium lights have a big range of wattage per dollar price right now and all the driverless tek is seeing big price drops.

I'm guessing that the setups with the drivers are more efficient and they also allow dimming but I'm on a tight budget now.

Right now it's the same price to buy these cheap leds as it would be to replace T5 bulbs!

I have almost 2000 watts of T5 fixtures that are basically scrap metal now, going to hang on to them to use in the spring if I go big for outdoor but besides that they are just big heavy beasts that use expensive bulbs that are too close together for veg anyways.

Chunkypigs keep us updated on what those draw from the kill a watt. I'm interested to see how they perform.

Using a kill a watt:

20w strip led = 18.5watts

100 watt flood = 84 watts

300 watt flood = 210 watts

I guess those lying Chinese are still lying...

Still a decent value for the price but...

Hey that's not as bad as I thought! I expected the 300 watt to be about 100 watts based on how some led manufacturers rate their lights. I might get the 500 watt and play around with it and see how it grows.

This panel @6000-6500K would be good for flower? Would it be to much for a 1.5'x2.0' area? Thanks
