China Yunnan, Orient Express, Kali China

Which of the three produces the best: Potency? Type of high? Vigor and pest and climate resistance? Ease of growth? Weight of bud? Which is your favorite and why? Plan to dust with Mextiza.tt What would make the best cross? Any advice? My outdoor season begins toute suite. I know these have wonderful info in the forums but I'd like a comparison if you find it interesting.
Thanks

I'm curious to see the comments/experiences, my imagination suggests Kali China is "best" in all categories, but in the end it's all mostly subjective.
So we wait and see:)

Yunnan - Orangey, funky mandarin smelling amazingness. Output is low, frost is heroic. Its energetic and mellow at the same time, chatty and relaxed. There are hints of southeast asian sativas and traditional indicas, similar to a thai x OG kush cross, but different. Its a more finicky than the other two as well, low nutes and low stress on this line.

Orient Express - huge output, very commercial weed smelling, but woody, creamier and kinda spicy. High is chatty and mellow, maybe slightly more energetic than Yunnan. As you'd expect with a commercialish line, it can be a bit hungry and responds well to nearly constant feeding and stressors.

Kali China - better than the other two in nearly every regard. It yields more than Yunnan, but less than the production-centric Orient Express. Its also easy to grow. The smell and taste are out of this world (mango citrus). Somehow beating Yunnan's awesome fruity smell and taste by a wide margin. Of the three, its the one I would smack with pollen.

Terpene did it ;)
Cactusflower, it depends what you are looking for.
Orient Express is the most sativaish of those three, tallest to grow, needs a bit more light than those two indica ones.More nutes, yields well.
China Yunnan and KaliChina are more indica, robust, smaller, but yield well.Easier to grow and get great results.
I will put few pictures here, when I visit my greenhouse later today...some KaliChina coming.

Hi Cactusflower,

Terpene and scai explained the differences perfectly (thanks :) )

Orient Express (Vietnam Black sativa/China Yunnan indica) it's a hybrid with more sativa influence, it's more vigorous, branchy and better yielding when is correctly feeded with high levels of nutrients in flowering, it usually produces very big colas of medium density. Orient Express is a great choice for outdoor growing in soil, it produces a lot and it's quite resistant against fungus and water. Its bouquet is mainly earthy/organic and the effect is clear, happy and pleasant without anxiety.

My preference goes lately towards Kali China as it's the chinese hybrid i've spent more time to develop and i'm very happy with the outcome of this strain after the latest selections.

Kali China is a 75 % China Yunnan hybrid with a touch of old Kali Mist, it's overall a refined and inbred China Yunnan indica breed with exotic sativa fragances.

Kali China grows more columnar than Orient Express, with a more hashplant appearance (thicker stems, with bigger, wider and darker leaves). It produces very resinous flowers of good density in a short flowering time, with a very complex terpene profile: mango, creamy, sweet and sour, violets, hash, incense, ... the high is more dreamy, complex and relaxed. Kali China is more indica and more inbred, so it's not so good yielding and vigorous like Orient Express, but overall i rate its quality higher than the rest of chinese hybrids. It's also more stable and more predictable to breed with.

Hope it helps!

Thanks Dubi for the info and great genetics, I'm doing an open pollination with the Mextiza for a seed run now and will end up crossing with some ACE gear down the line, I grow out with the dirt and sunshine in my garden and a friends, and lately have had more thunderstorms than I ever remember for here including hail that really tora things up, I enjoy seeing what different strains do under different conditions, the big heat comes now, buenos dias

Hi Malarkey,

The China Yunnan sativa phenos are quite good yielding, producing very big fluffy colas of woody, incensey and violeta aromas. The high is pleasant and relaxed, yet clear. It frequently shows moderate amounts of CBD, so it's a mix of expansive sativa effects with anti anxious CBD properties.

The sativa pheno usually has an average potency, the good indica hash plant phenos are much stronger but also heavier.
