Sexual Influence When Breeding

Im wondering:

the role the male and female plant plays in breeding...

which sex determines what?

which plant would determine if the f1's would be indica or sativa dominant?

the type of high/smell/taste/trich/cal.to leaf ratio..... and which one would offer the amount?

anybody follow these rambles?

for example:
like if the male determined the amount
and the female determined the type?

or

the male was indica
the female was sativa
and the f1's produced were more indica than sativa?

follow, anybody see what im trying to get at?

Yeah I understand what you mean..im sure everyone does..but I dont know if people would actually know unless they have done extensive research..all i know is that the male great impacts the progeny..but no one really smokes it so cant really tell..yeah someone experienced should just comment instead of me.

I've found that Indica males will strongly influence the flavor of the smoke and female sativas have the upper hand also.I use mostly Indicas and the males will dictate the bud structure and some times the plant structure too(how it branches).Usually you'll get both phenos either way you cross it. Hope some of this helps.

The male contibutes to potency. To test the potency of a male you take the leaf from around the flowers and smoke it or give it to someone with a low tolerance to smoke. Find out which is the most potent male, and use his dust.
