In 2019, Mars Hydro releases two led grow light series, one is Mars SP series, another is Mars TS series.

They both use new SMD chips, using low current to drive while with a lot of them to make sure the whole light output is high.

They are both white colors, sunlike full spectrum suitable for both veg and flower or all stage of your plants’ growing.

They both put high PPE above 2.15umol/j, and they are all with no fan design.

During the past months, the two series have been tested and proved with great growing results and become Mars Hydro growers' favorite new lights, But, many of the growers still have confusion, what is the difference between the two lines? Now, we will give you the answer below.

Cooling System & Heat Dissipation

They produce same heat under the same wattage, but the thick heat sink design makes Mars SP series release more

heat than Mars TS series.

? Why put the better heat sink in the design with lower watts? Besides, I'm not sure it is better. The TS has a large flat heat sink ( essentially the reflector area) whereas the sp has lots of fins. To cool the ts you only need to blow a fan over any area of the reflector for a couple of mins, and it cools the whole reflector, but trying to cool all those fins would be tricky.
I like the look of the sp more, but I dont regret choosing the ts at all.

The heat sink does help the light dissipate heat, at least by separating the power source from the panel.
Since SP was first designed, this light has a heat sink. Later, we wanted to design a simpler light, so TS was produced. That's why TS doesn't have fins.
We will extend the power lines of SP and TS, so that you can choose to hang the power out of the tent, which can solve the heat problem

Penetration

Penetration

What exactly is penetration when talking about plant lighting? It refers directly to the PPFD available at a given distance after the calculation of inverse square and lens/reflector coefficients.

Mars SP can penetrate deeper to plants from the top of leaves to bottom.

Hi Mars Hydro! is this feature available already?
heat is my main concern, and if investing in lights for summer, just need to make sure of heat control,
would it work to have 2 SP150 in a 1m x 1m tent?
thank you!

not sure if it's available on the sp150 but the ts3000 does have the longer cords installed.

I might get one TSW2000 for 1m x 1m tent. :tiphat:

We extended the SP250 power cord so that customers who felt hot could take it down and leave it outside the tent.
SP150 is not very hot, because of the wattage is small. You can use 2 SP150 for 1mx1m tent.

FYI ... I’ve been running three sp150 over a 4x8 at 24” separation. Absolutely no problems! I’ve ran this for months and can safely say it’s a set it and forget it. Veggin to the hip and flip.
For the sp250
I don’t get a tremendous wide foot print like 18” however 4 are enough to cover the table. Due to stretch some are as close as 6” before they show signs of burning. Plan on 36” of depth coverage max you may get more but popcorn below that line. Try and keep total plant height at 5’ in a 3 gallon and pull 3-4 each

That sounds good. buddy.
Three SP150 might be enough for vegging stage in 4x8. but during flowering, more lights might be needed for better harvest.:tiphat:

There will be a dimmable controller on TS and SP lights.
So it will be more easier to use the dimmable function. Are you guys excited?
