New to them I guess. Not new to the scientists protesting clear-cutting forests in the 70s and 80s. This is a good illustration of how supposed established science can become a limiting factor, like some of the resistance to change in the medical and evolutionary advances. [and the stubborn clinging to religion, crystal skulls, shamanism, course in miracles, Emoto structured water, etc. etc.]

I think this was more of a quantitive study.
Not "if", but rather " how much".
"Up to 26%" is a lot.
Davis is about as forward thinking as you can find. It used to be a pretty radical place in a very quite sort of way.
