" pain contracts" controlled substances or MJ not both

a friend just went into his doctor and was told that he had to sign a "pain contract" which basically stated

you have to choose whether you want me to do pain management with legal controlled substances or you want to use illicit substances, but you don't get to choose both.

contracts typically require the patient to agree that "lost, stolen, or misplaced" drugs are not to be replaced and that the patient agree to be drug tested. Patients who refuse to sign such an agreement or who test positive for non-prescribed drugs--i.e. marijuana--are likely to be cut off.

so what bull xxit is this? anyone had a problem with this yet....????

any comments????

i go to the pain clinic for Percocet, tho i use my Medical MJ 99% of the time i always go to get a refill on my pills for on the "WORST" days occur...i signed a similar contract and just have had terrific luck with not being tested after about 9months...if i ever failed i'd just be upfront and honest about the whole situation and explain how the pills can make me vomit so they're last chance emergencies only...yesterday i took a pill and yacked all over the fuckin place...but its illegal to get the Med MJ that helps the pain and relieves upset stomachs...crazy world we live in for sure

been there, although I have known my doc a long time and she doesnt think MJ is bad, too the point where she took it too the head doctor of the place to see if they could make it an exception for me, cause i would take drug test for her and just fail for mj....she kept testing me and i kept failing, but if u have a legit medical problem, imo no good doctor can not treat you cause you like mj.... its literally like caffeine.

unless the friend doesnt trust the doctor, i would be strait up with them about it, I guess this also wouldnt work in the South, or the bible belt.... maybe though.

long story short, my doc agreed through some sort of unsaid terms that if i only call her once every few months for the narcotic, she will just call them in for me and i dont have to see her or be on one of those "contracts"

Speaking from personal experience, all you can do is look for another md who is sympathetic to med mj. Most pain clinic mds/pain specialists require the kind of contract you're talking about. Most deny the efeectiveness of med mj for pain control.

Bad doc. Only people I know on pain contracts are people on OXY's (specifically) or have a morphine/dilauded pump installed or are active in a pain clinic program. They do get random UA's. I called a friend and he just told me that Doctors use the contracts for people they feel are med surfing or even if they just feel you're type A personality or seem to have a propensity for addiction. Its to protect their ass. So if your doc is afraid to let you get the treatment you feel you need then look for another DR possibly.

You should be able to find a doc that prescribes the pain meds you might need without a contract and that needs no knowledge of your pot usage.

Pain clinics are fucked around here. I had a relative go into the pain clinic while they were using just OXY and lortab and when he was done they had him on fentynal suckers and patches as well as the original meds. The people at the grocery store would have to wake him up. He'd be crashed into a display sleeping in his little scooter thing.

Doctors would prefer to have no pain contracts. You can thank the office of "National Drug Control Policy" and the "DEA" for those imprudent pain contracts. The NDCP's ongoing campaign against prescription drug abuse and the DEA's ongoing crackdown on physicians they believe are prescribing opiates outside the boundary of accepted medical practice, togather have made the medical establishment increasingly wary of pain patients and adequate treatment.

Doctors are being forced by the government to turn to pain contracts as a means of negotiating the fine line and clashing imperatives of pain treatment and law enforcement. If you think these pain contracts are bad, just wait and see how messed-up things will be if Obama is elected President and we get "universal heath care." The government will then have total control over doctors and what forms of treatment you can and can't have.

I'll tell my friend to hunt for a new doctor.... LOL we've pretty much stopped haning out with us (me and my GF) since he's "stopping" his MJ use,

He basically told his doctor to get ready to prescribe more pills LOL he told him he's going to start having more pain if he's not on MJ......

LOL he told me, he might get to the point that its "so bad" that he won't be able to work at all then just collect his pension and SS early and not worry about working.. LOL

he'd be making about what he's making now... so ...
"stop" smoking.... and get paid the same... and be able to putter around in his garage and rebuild his 1969 Mustang.... (it seriously needs work)...

SO I GUESS WHAT I'M SAYING IS
US this side :asskick: gov't this side
the Government wants us to be "legally" addicted to the "SAFE" (LOL oh so safe LOL) drugs... and live off of the Government....

All this trouble for a nice HERB plant that grow's naturally and has so many benefits....
