US House passes federal cannabis decriminalisation bill

I doubt if boris will be around much longer.
He’s been privately speaking about stepping down to spend time with his family (or in other words, once he gets his industry payoffs for ‘delivering brexit’ he’s off to an exotic island somewhere)

Comfortably numb!
Would it be correct to say that those of us who grow weed for personal consumption would welcome immediate decriminalization right away, while those who grow weed to sell, might prefer that cannabis either remains illegal at the federal level, or that its decriminalization be delayed by any means possible, to retain their market share, and fend off big corporations eager to monopolize commercial cannabis cultivation ?
Bingo!

Let's hold the party till the new administration comes in and/or the Dems have a Senate majority. This bill will either be delayed or defeated till then, and since Biden seems exactly stupid enough to try austerity at the worst possible time, I assume his dry old balls will be itching to get some new tax revenue to the tune of billions. Let's just hope ol' Mitch realizes the delay is a better option for his party, since people pretty obviously favor decrim right now.
Has it escaped you that GOP has been driving the shockingly high deficits the last few decades? Standard operating procedure for them.

It would truly be foolish for Biden to adopt austerity measures, and traditionally that is what Dems have done when following a GOP administration: tighten the belt and try to pay for GOPs spending spree (while they’re screaming about the deficit they jacked up themselves).

The difference this time is that Trumpmania has ensured that the dire situation is both directly and indirectly Trump’s bag of shit: Biden’ll hand *them* the bill.

If you think Mitch has any welfare but his own in mind, you’re dreaming.

I agree and understand......but here's the deal. The runoff election in Georgia in January is EXTREMELY important. If Democrats win, they will control the Senate. They will then have house, senate and president. This bill will get passed first thing and here come the corporations. If Republicans win Georgia, at least we'll have 4 more years before corporations come in. (I'm left on a lot of things, but balance in congress is needed right now, especially how socialist they've become)
Agreed: the Georgia runoffs are extremely important, and yes, if blue takes it, that will mean Dem majorities in Congress and a dem administration.

I don’t agree that cannabis rescheduling will happen first, and I have real doubts about how happy corporations will be ferreting around in OTC land (schedule 4)...may not seem like big, easy money under those circumstances.

If you think Congress ‘has become socialist’, then I doubt you’re “left” on anything at all.

I too agree it will not pass unless the Senate turns blue. I doubt that though.

This may be the wrong forum for this question but lets see.

First lets say it does pass the Senate.

How can we, the little guy, share in the profit that big corp guys will surely flood the market with? I know nothing about the stock market except that my 401K is in it.

What stocks would you invest in if you had a little insiders info on this passing? Why shouldn't the guys who have put a huge part of there lively hood and even freedom at stake for this plant benefit from it.

There are a lot of smart people on this site with very diverse backgrounds. Surly someone has some thoughts?

Are you off your tits?.....The finance industry definitely did NOT want brexit to happen and sadly, like in the rest of the industrial world, the finance industry runs the show!
So, nope it wasn't industry that did this.

Whilst I would have preferred remain, no deal is much better than a shitty deal.
Dealing with EU on WTO terms will not be that bad.....the EU is not going to punish its own members for selling products, such as agricultural goods, to the UK, nor will they refuse necessary goods from the UK.....but it will be uncertain times ahead for both sides.

It is likely not getting through the Senate, even if dems win the Georgia seats.....to many conservative ****s in both the dems and republicans for that to happen.

If it does happen, then I wonder how they got those mutherfuckers to change their lifetime of prejudice against the ganja?.....Many of those senators, of both parties, make huge money off of private prisons and big pharma...can you see them giving up on their sugar daddies and doing what is correct?.......Good luck with that!

[edit: hey, how come when I wrote the word c-u-n-t-s....it ended up being spelt *****?]

I don’t know if this is the correct place to post this bit of news I received a package of seeds from qxxxk seeds with the green tape last week. The last time in ‘14 they took the seeds. The package had been opened but the seeds were untouched. Both times I had made multiple punches over a very short time from the same bank.

With an even split, and Kamala "actually slavery is pretty cool if I make money" Harris being a potential tie-breaker, it'll be interesting to see if this can pass, if anyone will break rank, or if Joe will allow it. I doubt a veto since, despite his personal beliefs, he can read the room pretty well.

I don't think the bill addresses home growing. I googled it too. Still don't know. But if not, I couldn't care less. Actually, I couldn't care less whatever the gubment does.

:plant grow:

Edit: I guess the states decide that.

Politics is beholden to money, so yeah. I take this as a sign that the politicians have realized weed smokers and freeing convicts is worth a lot of fuckin' money. I'll take a win any way I can get it this year.

Worth a lot of fucking money to the money folks who can buy into a restrictive and complicated ‘legalization’ regimen...not much good for us living’ & dying’ types
