<< been playing online NL tournys n SNGS for several years. depo'd 75$ in 04 and haven't looked back. there is SO much money to be made. i'm pretty much on every online site that allows US playas.

I love poker. I use to play almost every day but have been on a break for quite awhile. Looking forward to having some tournaments in my basement once the cold starts to kick in.

I been playin, on and off for bout 50 yrs..lol really..I started at 8 yrs old as there used to be poker houses where I lived.The game to play for most of those yrs was 5 card stud which IMHO is the best game ever created.Almost 90% skill as compared to lower skills with other games like hold em.I tried online but get too frustrated so gave it up.Still do wk-end home games. Used to run a card club (it was illegal) and got busted for it.First poker house in my area that ever got busted...oops sorry old memories.
These days it is phenomenal how poker (hold-em) has taken off.I wouldn,t miss a poker torney on TV..I love the skill of some of the old timers and the up and coming younger players..They are gutsy..Have fun..

I dont have the patience for poker, therefore, I'm not a very good player and dont enjoy it that much. I do however like Gin & Tonk, betting the ponies & college football.

On the full tilt free rolls I have finished in the top 5 last 4 tourneys. All for nadda as you have to take first to move on to the next satellite. :bashhead:

Sign up for a money account. Playing for money is much more satisfying than playing FFA's. Even if you win the first FFA, round 2 will be even harder to win, because there's many more people in round 2. FFA's are almost like bingo.

Even at the lower dollar amounts, there's still plenty of donks playing, but it's at least better than playing for free in my opinion. I've only played poker for a little more than 1 year, and I started off with just playing the free games to test it out and gain some experience. After a month or two of just playing free games, I deposited some money, made an account, and now I only play money games. Proper account management and playing within your means is crucial to being successful and not letting your account go minus when playing with real money.

It is really not that hard to move money around with the "big guys" that do take us players. Only thing is, it takes awhile to cash out because they have to mail you a check.

I used to play the free money online poker but I found that when no real money is involved people will constantly bluff or max bet with a pair twos. It ruins the realism of play, imo.

Obviously I could play for real money and that would probably solve the problem but I made a promise years ago to never gamble for money unless I am either playing in Vegas/Atlantic City or a game between friends. My reason being that I love to gamble (mainly Craps!) and I could probably easily become an addict if I did not put some limitations on what is a very limited budget to begin with.

it's just as easy to get money off the sites with epassporte. get your funds within 24 hours and transferred to your bank account in the next couple days. waiting for a check isn't bad either when you pay the extra 25$ for courier service.

^True, I just don't bother with them because I do not play for big bucks so I can wait the two weeks for my $20 check.

For me it is more fun to play 1/2 cent blinds than with fake money any day. So that is what I do.

At the lower limit ($1,$5,$10,$20) games, there's still plenty of donks that will bluff like crazy. It's not as bad as in free games, but they're still around.

Sometimes I'll play a tournament with at least 1000 people, and I'd estimate that at least a few hundred are complete donks, if not more. Those usually end up dying out first anyhow, lol.

An icmag tourney with a pword would work. At least we know no one will be -EV for being high b/c we will all be high.
