So i bought a new RO the old one was about done for.

The water on the new RO is 40 ppms but the ph is 3.9 -4.0.

Anyone ever experience this ?

Brand NEW ph / tds meter and calibrated.

(Well water very dirty 600 - 700 ppm lots of iron. The ph was about 7.4 before and after sending it through the OLD RO machine but the ppms where about 330 > the reason i replaced it, older model couldnt find the filters)

Seperate question, should i add some tap to the RO water try to get it between 50 - 100pms mixed ?

So not abnormal just nothing in the water for the PH to read correctly ?

EDIT:

Okay added 1 part well water to 9 parts RO water About took the ph to 6.2 and ppms to 100

3.9 was freaking me out never seen anything like that before.

Most likely. I get 0ppm from mine and if just reading the raw RO water, the meter will go up and down randomly, by several full points. Ends up around 5.4 after nutes dissolved. Think I read that RO dissolves CO2 in the water making it acidic. After 24 hours, the 5.4 goes u to about 5.6 and stabilizes. Source well water is about 7.2.
