But you are bringing it down to -15" Hg at what temperature?

Maybe send the nitrogen gas through a hot water heat exchanger (coil in a bath is fine), as to warm it up and dry from the inside.


Why is it unsafe?

The heated coil sounds good I'll try that thanks

once you dry that outer layer of the column it becomes an insulative layer that inhibits further heat penetration to the core. the problem only gets worse as you progress. use smaller columns or recover separately or accept the butane loss?
