Is that not where one would view their own notifications? maybe I'm misunderstanding the term "notifications".

told you it aint my day! its where private messages is that it comes up but i wanted to know how to access when not there.

It's called 'My Profile' on the top of the page, pull down the 'user menu' and there it is!
