usually i do these steps,
germination on pure perlite bed with rain or distillled water, than seedlings transplanted into a very light mix of perlite, coco coir, optionally vermiculite, and i like to add into this a few spoon of ghe mineral magic, it contains silica and some other minerals, but from this step they are on fed with a light nutrient Ec 0.6-0.8 as you said and increased in few days over 1
That's a lot of extra work for nothing, imo. Try starting them off with an EC of 1.4, I guarantee you'll be pleasantly surprised.

How long can you water seedlings with distilled water only ?
Is safe to wait until they show sign of light green(underfed) ?

That would be 2-3 weeks I guess.

Also is PH a concern when using only distilled water for first few weeks ?

I'm starting seeds in seedling mix to transfer to coco afterwards.
I did straight coco with ok'ish' results but my guess is it would be simpler in seedling mix just add water until they can take at least 400 ppm.

Did you read any of the thread?

As well mixing what I assume is a peat based soil and coco isn't optimal.

Yes I don't plan to keep a lot of seed starter mix in there. Just about 2 inchs deep in 4' small pots. It will then be filled with coco dtw and started at 400 ppm when plants are ready. Then transfered full coco. I have H&G drip clean that I use also I don't think there will be enough in there to lock nutrients up. It's a little unorthodox but seeds in straight coco are a little harder to manage I find. I'm not always at home and a more forgiving medium seems a better idea for fragile little seedlings for me at the moment.

I'm not sure what you are refering to when you say have you read the thread.
Whipedmeat says he sarts with distilled until first fed but does'nt say how long or if the water is ph'ed

Thanks for your answer.
