Hi folks!

Been a long time since I posted on here. Well bout time I start something back up. I have some years of growing experience but nothing major. Here is what is going on so far.

Setup:

-Vivosun 60"x60"x72" grow tent AKA the light leak master. seriously avoid these tents, Ive had 3 plants hermie because of light leaks. Going to be building a room soon, 7'x10'x7'.

-1kW DE HPS, switchable ballast. Spider farmer sf-1000, I bought the led as a test kinda fun thing.

-1-7gal fab pots and plastic pots

-Inkbird Temp/Humid controllers. (these are a damm lifesaver) best 110$ I spent.

- Those honeywell whirpool fans, cheap but effective

- 4-6" inline fans with carbon filters. luckily I live in seclusion so a carbon filter isn't needed, but got em any way.

- Multiple hygrometers for the diff area's of the tent.

- Cool mist humidifier

- Blue labs Ph soil pen. Ph pen(generic higher end chinese one). I find no need for an ec meter as I'm not pounding the plants with salts, and I'm doing 30% run off.

- Bunch of other basic stuff.

Nutes:

- Green planet Hydro fuel Grow/Bloom A+B
- Green planet Root builder,Liquid weight,GPF uptake.
- Superthrive
- molasses
- GroTek Cal-Max
- Enzyme komplete(this stuff is surprisingly good.)
- Epsom salts

Water supply:
Well water which is hard as hell. need about 40 gallons of acid to drop er .1pH :bashhead:. Comes out around 7.6. After mixing nutes it's usually 6.5ph, then I drop it to 5.9-6.3 depending on stage and requirement.

Strains:

Garden of Green - Amnesia Lemon Pie, Phantom Domina Cookies
Europa - HeavyGrapefruit
Dinafem - Og Kush
Northern seed bank - Sister M, Mezmakronic
Bag seed - Tom Ford Pink Kush, Pink death(death bubba x Pink kush)
Exotic seeds - Waiting on some seeds to test for them. Not sure what they sent whether their stabilized or non stabilized unreleased I'm not sure.

Going to be ordering more soon also, I would like to get a small auto flower LED cab going.

Thanks for tuning in folks! I'll post the 2 strains in flower below and the bagseed and mother plants.

Don't think you mentioned what medium you're using.

How you liking that enzyme complete... its actually pretty cheap if you buy it in bulk. Plus Canadian company and easy to source. So this isn't the type of enzyme you include in every feeding? It sounds like you can use it to soak your medium for a day or so to be able to reuse it? How are you using this product?

Hey Unreg, thanks bud! It is a very bushy plant. Starting to get the citrus/astringency. None of the sweeter fruity aspects as of yet. im hoping the sedation is prevalent with this strain.

Mike,

Eh bud im using Promix HP+ mycroz. The stuff honestly is a P.I.T.A due to the increase in sales(legalization in Canada) and lower production quality. Ive had buffering issues with the product right out of the gate, and I had inactive and active mediums. lime was active and not active to buffer the acidity down, or to much lime. which caused medium to be above 8.0pH. Pretty confident at this point I could be a rep for their company and answer any questions. But now I like it and will use it for a long time until I make the switch to SS.

The enzyme komplete I use at 1ml pr L with every last watering I do, doesn't matter if its a flush or a normal watering with run off. As for comparison, but yes it is hella cheap and works with peroxide which I like, and the local grow shop always hooks it up with a discount too lol. The only other product I used was sensizym and that was 10 year ago. I can't remember the results. Enzymes help the plant uptake salt and also help remove salt from the mediums. Enzymes bond with positively charged salt ions. in turn helping brake them down and make them readily available for the plant, and easier to be flushed out of the medium. Oh! the only reason I'd soak the medium is to brake down salts and roots if I was to reuse the medium. but since I water with it every feeding. I don't bother doing soaks.

Og Kush

OG Kush start of week 5. This plant is starting to get some nice purple on the underside of the leaves. The frost is packing on now and the plant is at a nice consistent growth rate. I did not feed with run off last time and did a full 100% feeding. Next feeding ill be doing a 75% ratio and 30% run off. This Og Kush from DinaFem is odd. It has the most sweet blueberry ish terps, maybe a little watermelon. Non of the normal wood/gas/pine/must of the Og I used to know of. But I will not lie this plant smells absolutely great!

Europa - Heavy Grapefruit

Europa - Heavy Grapefruit

start of week 5. The first two photo's are the before and after of the defoliation. This plant is goddam bushy holy shit! It took me well over an hr to get her defoliated to point of satisfaction. This plant has bud sites like whoa! Going to be a great yield-er. Probably going to pick up some bloom enhancer for week 6-7 then cut out nutes, just feed with H20+Mollasess+enzymes till the end. She has a crazy watermelon, astringent, grape vibe im loving these terps. and at 80% indica I hope its good for sleep as I've been having problems. I might end of re-vegging this plant and working it out with the TFPK OR PD if they turn out to be male. Last pic is a weird one lol, but its my hands after defoliation, I didn't not pluck the leaves I cut them, but my hand was literally just coated in grease and thc cement. I am absolutely pumped to see how thee plants turn out.

p.s Forgot to mention this is my first grow in 10 years. I was worried the learning curve would be large due to the market expanding so quickly, but I'm very happy so far. I think I got lucky with the pheno's as well. Thanks for tuning in folks I appreciate the comments and support!

Big update

Big update

Hand is feeling way better. I can at least use 3 of the 5 fingers on it now lol! Here is a proper grow update. I skipped a week because of the surgery. Here we go!

-Used a Organic/hydro salt mixed feed this week for both plants. I wanted the break up the sheep manure compost and get it really well broken down in the water. Compost tea's actually don't do anything to be honest, they're feeding nature and microbiological nature are all marketed crap. Go look into Linda Scott's research into them. but they are good ways to break down compost into the watering solution.

-Both plants medium are at 6.3, I watered with a pH of 5.7 to bring down the soil ph to around 6.2 and the run off with enzymes will help pull some of the carbonates out.

- took off the Lst ties as they are now loose meaning the buds are packing on weight. I use this as a maturity indicator sort of.

- Really stacked the feedings on this run. EC was really high for the feedings, sometimes pushing 20% over the recommended bottle dose. For my first grow in 10 years, I'm surprised I was able to keep up with the stresses and deficiencies/toxicities. I think the 30% run off each feeding + heavy dose enzymes really helped with keeping the root zone up-taking what the plant needs. now for the last 2-3 weeks the plants will just get water and essential sugars, maybe a light dose of Fulvic acid.

HeavyGrapefruit - This plant is getting thick and full! even with a issue now showing ?. Were back to the Calcium issue. getting some spotting on the new buds. the last 2 watering due to my surgery, I didn't water with run off. the EC must of spiked and caused some minor lock out of phos and cal. I watered with 30% run off and a heavy dose of enzymes. In few days the plant should be back to normal. I also fed this plant a quick dose of monster bloom pro to get some pho's and potassium stored before the flush, hopefully boost some G's at the end of the run. I'm hoping this plant will be a monster, but they're has been a good couple cases of stress. On top of the monster bloom I also fed 25% of the standard ratio of Hydro fuel to add a boost of p/k as it looks like the HG needs it, and the Cal-Max being a nitrogen based calcium provides enough N for this feeding.

This plant has a off putting amount of leaf>bud ratio so far, manicuring and leaf trimming has been annoying to say the least. taking upwards of an HR on 1 plant! hoping the p/k booster changes that over the next 4 weeks. The caylyx's stack like a good classic sativa but have the density and stout structure of an indica plant. This would be a hell of a strain to run in a low ceiling room where you can't have much stretch if running hid's. Or the plant will burn and leach. The smell on this plant is insane!!!! it is literally is so astringent it burns you're nose when sniffing it. But it has back notes of grape and watermelon with frontal notes of grapefruit and citrus peel. when you get up close its sweet and a quick sniff make's you're nose burn! Can't wait to see how this strain cures up!

pics:

OG Kush - This plant is an amazingly easy plant to grow, doesn't seem to respond to badly to under feeding or over feeding tbh. Been feeding it the same as the heavy grapefruit which has increased levels of nitrogen because of the cal-max increase, and so far the plant isn't showing nitrogen issue's like the Heavy Grapefruit is. It has amazing purpling capabilities if you give it less phosphorus and some cold. As you can see from the pictures, it is purpling amazingly and the night time temps are only hitting 19c on the low's as I have a temp controller in the tent. This will probably be a re-veg project and seed out project(sorry dinafem I gotta keep this one). This plant produces a gnarly low leaf>bud ratio. I mean trimming this plant will take 15 mins. In terms of a production strain thing would be amazing to run, for a copious amount of factor's. I fed this plant the same mix as the HG but this plant did not receive the extra p/k boost from the part B of the Hydro fuel, as it shows no need for it. the monster bloom will be enough to do the job. This plant is only about 2-3 weeks away from harvest so I don't want to smash the EC with a bevy of bottles at the moment.

The bud structure on this plant is beautiful. The leaf>bud ratio is so low, trimming this plant will take 15 mins tops, that is if it need it. The plant is so frosty that the fans will be good to smoke. The colors....WOW! The shades of purples green, oranges, just spectacular! From any angle you take a picture the plant just looks stunning under some bright white lights. Even my grandfather was stunned by the colors and look, he hasn't really even seen a cannabis plant, so it was an experience for him. The caylyx's show a pointed tip instead of rounded round bodied calyx. Caylyx show purpling at the tips and running down the side of the face on the caylyx. The density of these buds are brutal, when cured and dried. if shot out of a canon, would go threw brick no problem lol!??. Doesn't look like a big yielding plant but the density make me think other wise.

The smell is now starting to turn into a musky, sweet, floral, earthy OG Kush, I'm not getting any gas though. The berry smell is still their and they're is a slight creaminess with this pheno, it's almost like strawberry shortcake ice cream we get in Canada. So far I'm more impressed with the smell on the HG. The smell on DinaFem's OG-Kush, doesn't remind me gas and floral bubble gum like we used t get in the early 2000's. The plant still has an amazing smell and greasiness to it and I can't wait to smoke it but wish it. that creamy strawberry I'm getting make's me drool when I sniff it.

Pics:

Thanks for tuning in folks! much appreciated for all the likes and comments recently. Been working very hard on some projects and finishing up these plants. Can't wait till harvest! Wooohoo! Happy smoking folks! Take er ez!

OG Kush - Well things are slowing down now. Plant is still purple as hell no further coloration. Buds are fattening up slowly. Should of pushed more p/k to her near week 4-5. And cut out nitrate calcium. but its the most readily available at most stores. I made my own calcium acetate solution so more more worrying about cal/mag issues. Hoping the plant is preparing for a fatten up in the next couple days. All in all I'm happy for my first run in 10 years.

Heavy Grapefruit - This plant is becoming a bitch! you cannot keep up with the calcium uptake needed for this plant. the ph of the medium is a perfect 6.1pH(tested with a blue lab soil tester) and the plant has enough of the other macro's. Thank god I made a calcium supplement to combat this. currently foliar feeding in between typing and posting to various forums. Hope fully this helps as the pant easily has 3-4 weeks left and is not showing the pack on I'd like for this lineage of cannabis(sweet tooth x Dynamite). Used way to much nitrogen based calcium and the plant is just leafy as hell because of it, only plus is their will be ton of material for hash. I'm still hopeful this plant will come out a good yeilder with the work I'm putting in.

Ordered on Nov 13th, estimated delivery in a couple days, which will be 21 days total. And that was with International Wiring of funds. Definitely not super speedy, but the wide selection of freebies helps a bit. Got some Orangesicle and Purple Punch freebies that sound interesting, maybe for a future round... God speed!

Peace

Thanks for the heads up dopey! I figure because of xmas I'll be waiting that extra bit haha. I'm still waiting on some tester seeds from Exotic seeds that they shipped on Oct/21/20 lol! Can't beat those extra's eh. Was really nice to see some of the extra's were CBD based strains. T
