Did you ever get to be an EXPERT dope grower like you wanted to be, Canna? Did those 15 different Soil pH Test kits you bought ever make a difference to your grows? Which test kit did you find to be the most accurate? How often do you test? And how deep?

I don't think I'll ever be an "expert". But I'm having fun trying!.

I only got two pH tests. Cheap litmus and the color changing drops. Neither seem to be accurate.

But really I want to get a pH pen if I'm going to keep growing in the coco mix.

Color changing drops are hard to read if your solution is already dark colored.

My best new practice is watering multiple times and trying to stay in the proper EC.

hurt my lower back after a fall from a central leader (trees) and couldnt even move my arms or not hyperventilate until i got something shot into my asscheek at the emergency room. I love what moose wrote because im convinced 10% of all specialists are actually special.
I have yet to find a good doctor to help 15 yrs later.......keep me updated if you can on your progress, if you have had back issues for real you know this cats pain~

I noticed you asked "how deep?".
I didn't realize this made a difference. I noticed that EC is higher sometimes at bottom of jug after sitting because the nutrients are dense.
I'll have to check into this. Get a long tubed syringe to sample from bottom?
