When im bbq-ing I do like to make a bunch of meat, since I find it a bit of a chore to clean and refuel and start a fire, I generally don’t light up the cooker more than once a week or two weeks. And it’s always nice to have leftovers that you can quickly nuke or heat up for a fast meal. I know some people like to go all out and make meals for the week, breakfast lunch and dinner all in individual Tupperware containers, im not quite that disciplined.

Finished rice and mushrooms, sharing a pan.

More cowbell indeed. I think for the rams a lot of their offensive success was having the threat of that run game opening things up for the pass, theyre not crazy with the shotgun set like most other teams, goff starts under center and most of their plays, whether run or pass, have the same formation so it’s hard for the defense to know what’s coming. So if they can get it to more 60-40 pass/run instead of 75-80/25-20 pass/run, that might be more ideal for mcvay’s offense. But then again, theyve been scoring a decent amount so not like it’s broken.

Yeah, NFC west is shaping up to be an interesting division, the 49ers were the 2nd worst team in football last year but are undefeated and atop the division, seattle is next at 4-1 having just beat the rams, rams are defending champs but 3rd in the division at 3-2. Ur right, the MNF game and next week’s niners-rams game will be big for the division…

Damn that looks good baba! Are you as mad as the bears game as me? I think Daniel threw the game.

Thanks Hawk, how ya been? Good i hope.

London games are always weird, and give credit to the raiders, their line dominated yesterday, held khalil mack in check, opened lanes for josh jacobs to have a great game.

It's sad that once daniels took over, bears fans were like, ah yeah, now the offense will be better, and then once daniels actually plays an entire game, we're like, uh is mitch going to be back soon?

Even though he's a highly paid backup, there's a reason chase daniels has been a career backup, and it's not because he's so good. He's average at best, interspersed with enough crappiness that you really want someone else starting over him most games.

But again, give credit to the raiders, their defense was no pushover, not that they needed to be stout against a crippled offense like the bears have.

Ugh... The Browns need a better coach.. Kitchens had another shitty game plan... Baker is starting to worry me a little bit as well.. but I still think Baker is a product of the shitty game plan.. When they have a decent plan, Baker does alright... I thought last night was going to be a loss.. but the blowout really hurt...

That is a scary good 49ers team.. they are going to be a force to be reckoned with this season...

Yeah, another poor offensive showing vs the Niners for the Browns. Again, Mayfield looked really bad, holding the ball way too long, turning the ball over, etc. It’s weird, he had a 20-0 TD-turnover ratio in the red zone last year, and this year he’s had more red zone turnovers than TDs. Freddy Kitchens looked so promising as an off coordinator last year, and he’s still calling plays this year as the head coach, but the O has looked so bad, OBJ isn’t doing anything, Mayfield’s stats look worse than Manziel’s, maybe the browns do need a coaching change unless kitchens gets his head out of his arse.

After investing so many first round draft picks in their D-line, the niners are finally looking like a defense to be reckoned with. Nick Bosa, after having missed his last year in college and much of niners training camp with injuries, looks better than his brother joey bosa in rushing the passer. And kyle shanahan is capable of making a dominant rushing attack with undrafted RB's, so even if garapollo isnt lighting it up they have a competent offense.

happening fellas'
that looks like awesome broccoli and beef baba'
is the gravy just corn starch and water or do you add other flavors to it
the meat looks super tender and i bet it tastes great
the nfc is getting hot with the 9rs blowing out the browns
are the 9rs really that good or have the browns been exposed
cant wait for this sundays game, i was wrong i guess and its the afternoon game here on the west coast; kickoff at 1.05p
tough loss to the raiders for your bears and we will have tpo see where both teams go from here
raiders are playing really well on defense and they are getting some good throws out of carr
i think the real engine of their offense is the young rb, j.jacobs
they have a byw week to enjoy their victory while the bears play a tough saints team
i agree with you mrBungle that kitchens might be the next coach to lose his job this season
pats v giants kick off week 6 and things are starting to get really good around the league

I make a sauce out of soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar (sweet), some ground red pepper, 2-3 spoonfuls of sugar. At the end of cooking I’ll mix up a half spoon of corn starch in a little water and add that to thicken up the sauce into a think gravy. Pretty basic stuff, and it beats most Chinese takeout I’ve had, plus it’s a good way to use up all the vegetables the woman likes to buy.

The 49ers have a good D and run game, and a more than adequate QB and special teams (although gould missed a few FGs last week), that can take you pretty far in this league. Ur right, the game in LA vs the rams will be key though.

The bears best Def Tackle, akiem hicks, played but left in the first quarter with an elbow injury. Without him I can see how the raiders were able to gash them in the run game, I think hicks is almost as important to that D as mack is. Theyre on bye this week as well so he and trubs will have a chance to heal up a bit.

Who would take over the browns if kitchens is fired? Maybe they should have kept kitchens as the OC and Gregg Williams as the HC, that worked well enough last year after hue was fired.

thats a nice sauce you mix up brother!
sounds a littel sweet and sour wth some spice from the red pepper
ive seen a similar sauce that uses fresh red peppers and is a lot thicker but your sounds more my speed
no too hot , not too sweet and i bet the sesame oil adds a nice asian taste to it
the raiders were all over k.mack like white on rice last week and he got his share of double/ triple teams; plus incognito looks like he got in his cheap shots for the day
the 9rs have been pretty good on both sides of the ball but i think part of it is their schedule
/non of the teams they have beaten are playing over .500
we will see how they play this sunday against the rams, but this will be thier first real teat against a playoff caliber team
im still worried because the niners are on fire and the rams seem to have lost their way, but hopefully mcvay is feeling the heat and ready to turn up the fire a notch or two
thats a great question about who would be the best to take over the hc job in cleveland
while im not up to speed on the browns and who an insider thinks would be a good fit, i would say j.gruden is looking for a job and might have better success with the roster in place for the browns
/i read this piece by lavar arrington (x-redskin great) that says a lot of the problems in washington has to do with the ownership
/maybe mrBungle has a better take re: the direction the browns need to go in
hope you are enjoying your leftovers my man and i cant wait to hear whats on the menu for this weekend
i have been having a crazy craving for tacos lately and we are making some this sunday
not real mexican style tacos, but more like taco bell style
/you know the kind with ground beef and ortega taco shells, plus nacho cheese dip and chips beans, the works
hope you had a great week my man and are all set to have an even better weekend

Tough to say who would replace Kitchens ( Definitely not Rex Ryan...lol) It has been such a carousel of coaches it would be hard to pick someone.... I think we just need to go through his growing pains... I'll probably bitch and complain about it all season... but the reality is he is a new coach, and is definitely going to make more mistakes.... As long as it's not the same mistakes over and over.... Ugh...

Other folks I have talked to say they should've kept Williams as HC... I dunno... I think scandals would've been too plenty for Jimmy Haslam.. who is trying to keep his nose clean after that rebate scandal....

Yeah, it’s your basic Mongolian beef sauce I found in a recipe online, adding the sesame oil to it gives it even more of an Asian flavor.
You mention sweet and sour sauce and that’s interesting, I love a good S&S chicken or pork, I guess the sourness comes from apple cider vinegar? But I guess soy sauce has a bit of sourness to it also…
The woman is semi-obsessed with sesame oil, loves it on her Asian-type dishes, so I indulge her. It’s funny, I think it has odor reducing qualities. I used to drop a bit of it when I was making canna-olive oil in the slow cooker, I think it helped reduce the odor of cooking MJ a lot. Also when I’d bake some smelly fish like mackeral, adding some sesame oil to the fish seasoning helps reduce that odor also.

Its funny u mentioned the niners opponents W-L records, after last night I think the patriots 6 wins came against teams that currently have a .220 record, and niners opponents are next with a .240 record, and no other team in the league has opponents with worse than a .360 record. So ur right, niners haven’t faced a team like the rams yet, hopefully it’s an exciting game.

Its hard to bring in a new coach in the middle of the year, and I think jay gruden might get some head coach opportunities next offseason, pros and college offers, so he can wait to get another head job. Although that would be interesting if kitchens were fired soon and gruden hired to replace him.

I know most redskins fans don’t like Snyder as an owner, but they probably don’t like bruce allen as a GM more. U cant really change owners (F spanos) but I expect bruce allen to get the boot after the season.

Crunchy tacos and nachos with that cheese sauce are hella good. Make sure u get some avocado’s on that, I love guac or just plain slices. I think u can make ur own hard taco shells by deep frying corn tortillas in a basket, I don’t think it’d taste the same though plus it might be really greasy. But I do love a nice chimichanga (deep fried burrito).

When u mentioned rex ryan, MB, at first I was like really, that’s a thing(?), then I remembered him and Mayfield got into it a few weeks ago so I get the joke now.
I thought after the ravens game they had fixed their issues on offense but after getting held to a FG against the 49ers the same problems are cropping up again, like u said, ugh (as an OBJ fantasy owner, I sympathize, dude is a top 5 WR and has disappeared).
Maybe they need to let Monken dictate the offense more, or even start calling plays. Cause whatever kitchens is doing as a HC/OC, hasn’t been working very well.

thats a good call brBungle and maybe you need to just give kitchens some time
you have decent a roster to build off of, so maybe its just a matter of time for him to piece it all together
/but you have to admit some of the plays calling has left you scratching your head

we make our own taco shells from time to time, usually we use corn tortillas
they come out super good but thats too authentic
im looking for that ground beef taco bell taco taste this weekend
yeah man, we will def get some avocado too and a nice tub of salsa
/its super easy to make fresh salsa but its football sunday so im going to be in game mode most of the day
im also going to make some bean tostadas; nothing more than a tostada shell and some beans with chopped onions and cheese but man those things are grinding
/man i love those things
tomorrow we are going to a kebab place a foody friend of the mrs sugested
the menu looked good and i love gyros and that kind of stuff
this week we have some fun match ups
the chiefs v texans looks like its going to be a great game with two hot young gunslingers going at it
saints/jag might be fun too
i hear kimara is questionable for the game and im wondering how long bridgewater can keep playing at suck a high level
for jax, the porn-stash has been looking pretty good and dosent make stupid mistakes; plus fournette is finally playing like fournette
of course im all about the rams v sf
it looks like gurley might be sidelined this weekend with a quad injury but i like m.brown as a back up
the real question is how goff is going to react to the 9'rs pass rush
he dosnet seem to do too well when the heat is turned way up and you know they are going to be bringing it this sunday
how are you liking the start l.jackson has had this season
how many fantasy points are you scoring in a week baba'
i was talking to some of the fantasy guys at work and they said a hundy is about where you want to be at to be competitive
im still on the lamar jackson bandwagon and if the ravens defense can get back on track they should be doing pretty well
what a fun start we are having to the season

I didn't even think of Gruden... He certainly has experience, but might be a little older than what The Browns are looking for...
I don't think Freddie's head is actually on the chopping block... I mean he has already won more games than P-eww Hue... I think he will get at least 2 seasons...

Jarvis Landry said OBJ need to get more touches, and Freddie agreed... So it will be interesting to see what happens as far as game planning now that Rashard Higgins is going to be back (Baker's favorite target)... Maybe that will open things up a little more for OBJ

True but that # can be deceiving. The Pat's played Pit when big Ben was still there and Bill's were 3 and 0 (they are still 4&1).
Now Jets, Miami, Wash, and Giants do suck. But for a example.. last I checked those are the only teams Dallas has beaten, so does beating Dal mean anything?

The bears are off this week but we’ve had plenty of gripes about offensive play calling as well, nagy not using the run as much as he maybe should, he seems to prefer short passes in lieu of a run. Part of it might be trying to give trubisky confidence making those shorter throws, but at some point u have to run an offense to pick up first downs, not cater to your QB.

I love hard shell taco bell tacos, Pop, what kind of seasonings do u use in the ground beef mix? I swear they put MSG in the taco bell ground beef, stuff is addictive even though it’s not 100% meat.
Ive never made my own salsa but you’ve made it a few times, what is it, chopped tomatoes, onions, peppers, S&P, vinegar, let it sit overnight in the fridge? You’ve also done the tomatillo salsa verde in the blender before I think. I supposed as long as you have all the ingredients and don’t mind a bit of chopping it’s real easy to make.
For the beans do you make ur own refried beans or just use canned? Ive tried before to make Mexican style beans, never really made a good batch yet though. Those tostadas sound simple and great, just a smear of beans, some raw minced onion and some chihuahua cheese on top? Broiled for a bit to melt the cheese?

Most gyro meat is that sausage like blend they put on cones for slicing off a vertical spit; those are good if heavily salted. I do like it when those kebab places make their own spit meat, layering chicken or beef on the spit along with onions, etc, that’s more real meat than a blended product like a gyro cone.

Kamara picked up an ankle injury in practice this week, he’s a game time decision. Gurley hasn’t played in 10 days, he played 90% of the snaps vs the Hawks but picked up a quad/thigh injury as a result and already been ruled out. Malcolm brown will get the start but I hope to see some of their rookie, Darrell Henderson.

Lamar’s been pretty good, he’s on pace for like 30+ tds, 15 ints plus whatever he gets rushing. Ur right though the ravens D hasn’t been nearly as good this season as last.
Most standard leagues teams average around 100pts or so, with wide variances, a really good week can get you 180+, a bad one less than 50. It’s hard though, sometimes you can have a high scoring team but if every week youre unlucky enough to play another top scoring team you could still have a terrible record.

I think they were trying to get OBJ touches last game, they had him field a punt, which he promptly fumbled. But getting more reliable receivers on the field is always a good thing, I thought Antonio calloway has a lot of talent, but I guess he still has trouble catching the ball.

AG makes a good point, it’s like the dolphin’s perfect season back in the 70s, where their opponents had like a .300 winning percentage. If you played the dolphins once that season your percentage was automatically 6 pts lower, if you played them twice it was 12 percent lower. Because you play so few games in football relative to other sports, one or two extra losses a season makes a big difference in your winning percentage.

morning fellas ! hope everyone is ready for some football
might have to walk to the store because i got into the vodka early but its not that bad a walk and we only need to pick up a few things

salsa is super easy to make and i guess everyone kind of has their own recipe
i start with chopped tomatoes, onion and garlic and the add in cilantro and a little bit of peppers
season that up to taste and you are good to go
i like to leave mine super coarse but some people will blend it to get that smooth texture
/its one of those things that gets better the longer it sits tho so you could make this the night before
for the beef tacos i just sue this big thing of taco seasoning mix i got at costco; its probably like the lowerys or mccormics taco seasoning
i hear you are the taco bell tacos man, there is just something about them where you can just eat and eat
we make our own beans a lot, using canned beans but seasoning them and mashing them up ourselves
but i think im just going to grab a couple cans of rosaritta refrieds
/keeping things easy
the kebab place was kind of good actually, they had the pre-formed leat on the spit, but they sliced it and cooked it on a flat top in their own seasonings mix
i gut a gyro sandwich and the mmrs got like the chicken schwarma
plus we got these potato pasteries called sambosas that were bomb
/seasoned mashed potato with peas and corn wrapped in a pastry and fried
plus they had this crazy vinigrette chuttney stuff that i was dipping everything in
/the guy even hooked me up with a bunch of extra containers
grinding!
the ravens play the benglas today so they might play the run more if they can get an early lead
but it sounds like jackson is having a great season and he sure is fun to watch
cant wait for the rams game to start, this is a must win for them i think so lets hope they bring their best
hope everyone enjoys the games!

I love a good fresh pico de gallo, next time I have some extra tomatoes, onions cilantro and peppers im gonna whip up a batch.
Im going to check out getting a big tub of that taco seasoning, has to be more cost efficient than those seasoning packs. Ive tried making my own with cumin and spices, but it usually doesn’t taste the same.
The halal places around here usually have just 2 sauces, a white tahini (sesame) based sauce, and a red chili based spicy sauce. The Indian joints usually have a wide variety of sauces/chutneys they serve with every meal, a red one, orange one, green (mint based) one, etc. It’s nice u scored so many extra sauces. I love some good Indian/paki food, id try to cook that at home but the woman doesn’t like strong cooking odors inside.
Lamar Jackson only had like 10 fantasy pts passing (250yds, no tds) but had 20 pts rushing (150yds, 1td) so yeah, that’s his thing, even on a down passing day he can still get u a bunch of pts running.
Goff was shut down by the niners pass rush, he just couldn’t get anything going all game. Didn’t help that gurley was out, and the O-line is much worse than it was last year. Im starting to get worried about the rams, their D isn’t bad but theyre not going to win a lot if the O isn’t putting up a good amount of pts.

pop_rocks

In my empire of dirt
im starting to worry about the rams too baba'
the offense is hot and cold and not putting up the points in the critical situations, the defense is still fierce but not shutting down their opponents, even the special teams are playing just pretty good most of the time but missing big kicks
i think there are a lot of pieces that need to be tightened up and its looks like we might be taking the long way around( through the wild card route) if we plan on making it to the playoffs this year
the thing thats bothering me the most is goff
not having the run support dosent help him out, but he is making a lot bad reads and throwing all kinds of stupid passes
even if he still needs some time to learn the game and how to read a defense better, i want to see him at least play a solid game now and then
so is frisco for real?
their defense looked first class last weekend and i think jimmy G is smart enough not to make stupid plays if he dosent have anything in front of him
we also saw the chiefs drop two in a row and the cowboys fell to 3-3
its only the first half of the season and there is still a lot of good football to be played and i still think all of the teams i have mentioned (rams, chiefs,c'boys) are still playoff caliber
the taco seasoning is actually really good and tastes just like the other taco seasoning mixes you would get at the store
/plus i use it in other seasoning mixes when i want to add a cumin spice taste
they had the white creamy sauce you mentioned, but it was that sour stuff that really caught my attention
i can only describe it as herbs and sour but it was really good, maybe if i go back i can ask them what they put in it
you are right about the "salsa " recipe i mentioned is actually a pico de gallo
its funny because salsa is a generic term for that describe a whole range of dipping sauces from what ive seen
but thats part of the fun about sauces, how each different one can be a whole new taste experience

hoe you are having a grea start to your week and enjoying tonights game
/lions are leading the pac' right now
man, what a crazy start to the season!

Goff problems is teams now know that coach is in his ear telling him what to look for by the early D formation. So teams are either showing 1 and switching or setting up after radio time is off. Goff is then on his own to make the right read.
What I would do to help him is run set play no read on a quick snap. Make the D setup earlier or get caught sleeping.

pop_rocks

In my empire of dirt
you might be on to something there ag'
send in a play and run a quick snap so the defense he sees when he walks to the line is the coverage
add in some quick screen plays and slants and dink and dunk your way down field until the big play opens up
