awesome TheGhost....

I am about t minus 5 days from building this bad boy and getting a 250w from htg... awesome prices. etc.

eLigul alot of the pieces like screws and bolts and chains and latches etc i have laying around from years of carpentry and automotive fabrication. weather seal is a constant thing I have laying around for cars etc. Luckily it wont cost me that much for the cab alone... the lights, exhaust fans, and pumps are the killers for this project.

theghost im modding the veg chamber a bit... instead of 2 fluoros imma have 6 fluoros light strips at 15w a pop... they work really well.

I shot some pics today while I had the door open.

The clones are c99 and caliO
The 3 round pots are c99 and the square pot is caliO

This will be the second time round for caliO and about the fourth time round with the c99 (give or take a grow).

I have some caliO hanging at the moment, but I didn't like the way it grew, lots of stretch and it takes for ever to finish.
But you can't judge a plant based on one grow so I am going to give the caliO a second run but only 1 plant.

These clones have been held at a small size for weeks by keeping the nutes and the light levels low. I will need them to go into the cab in about 4 days so they go onto full strength nutes tonight. They were planted into these pots and put on half strength nutes 5 days ago. You will notice that the c99 clones show signs of flowering, all of my c99 clones do this during dormant period but once the clone is planted and given half strength nutes it starts vegging within days.

SoylentGreen: I haven’t counted the number of grows in this cab but it’s a lot. I would not change much, I would probably like a little more horizontal space in my veg chamber but that’s it. I like the sound insulating qualities of MDF but after moving the cab three times I wish it was a little lighter. The cab has taken quite a beating during the moves but it has held up surprisingly well $600 well spent.

so i went to the local hydro store and they had the same fans just 60cfm for 38 bux... i wonder where i can get those 75 cfm fans...

also since i dont have a roof to duct to can i use a curve and drop it out the rear wall of the cab on the outside? using a curve will give issues with venting? anyone know about thiss?

Rugged, durable, quite flat exhaust or intake fans. Rated for continuous duty, 120 Volt AC. Include power cord.

105 CFM - 54 Decibels @1 Meter

so technically if these are $38.95 a piece and you got 2 of them you get about 210cfm total.... so for $10 more a dayton 265cfm blower would be enough for the whole setup? i hear the 265cfm dayton blower runs at 59 decibels.

but if 210cfm can keep a constant 78 F -80 F thatd be enough i guess...

In the cabs current setup the vents do not go through the ceiling, they are piped to the rear of the cab into a mixing box that is injected with ozone. Because of the increase in bends I replaced the fans with 100 cfm fans similar to the ones in the pics you posted. It seems to be working well.

I put the clones into the system today, here we go again

Right hand side C99, Left hand front C99, Left hand rear CaliO

Check out the temp 26.8(celcius) and humidity 78% at 9pm, these are ambient - the lights are not on and the door is open.

so i was looking at at the boards at home depot today and i decided because of my fuzzy math skills it would seem I would need 5 boards or so of 3/4" MDF for the current size you have of 38" wide... well I pushed the bar and decided to use all 49" in width and still maintain the same height you have.

so its looking like I might have a bigger veg and flower chamber.... im wondering if i can supplement CFLs in the cab for the larger flowering area alongside the 250HPS... I didnt want to much extra wood lying around so the total dimensions are now 52"Hx49"Wx25"D

Hey ghost, just wanted to say if i could +rep u i would, this cab is awsome. I am interested in doing something very similar to yours with a little of Yukon's stuff mixed in. I have roughly about 4 feet 3 inches in height, 2 feet in depth, and maybe 2 feet 3inches or so in length to work with. I wanted a cab very similar to yours but i liked yukon's sliding floor for easy resev access. Any chance you can send me some pretty detailed info, including things u would have done different (if any, that cab is sweet lol) I would have pm'd you but I dont have enough posts, long long time reader, new poster.

p.s. stay :joint: everyone. ALSO Huge props to TheGhost for his stealth medi cab.

Ghost-love the system and genetics. I just ran across your thread yesterday and am very interested in your hydro setup. Could you explain more about it and what it's called? It almost looks like a DWC but with the purks of an ebb and flow table. In a system like this you could use it for a sea of green or scrog without changing the actual system. I love it. I don't know why i didn't think of that.

ChroniconCouncl Once upon a time long long ago I used some small 75 watt MH lights as a supplement to a 400 watt HPS in a closet. The 400 watt was in an air cooled hood and I hung the two 75 watters open bulb style. Seemed to work well, I am sure the CFL's would work the same, I would be interested in hearing about your results if you try it.

nerve Thanks for your comments, to be honest I would not change much about the cab, maybe next time I would try to put the res on the outside of the cab to help control the temps but thats something I haven't given much thought yet.
You should be able to find all the info you need in this thread, but if you need info on something specific I would be happy to try and answer your questions.

Connoisseur300 The hydro system is purely DWC all I did was change the way the plants are contained. I wanted the ability to change the plant numbers to suit the cab. DWC has been good to me but its not the ideal system for growing in my opinion, but when you are growing in a confined space then heat is your enemy and I have been able to control the res temps the best with DWC.

cool thanks man, I hope your partner is doin well also. The only problem i see with me having a cab like this is the air cooled light you vent into the ceiling (or did) i cant do that, can i still use an air cooled light and maintain stealth? the other thing is my dimensions are going to be a little bit different than yours because of my space, could you plan a ventilation system if its not to much trouble, one like yours, but im not the best diy kinda guy so i dont want to mess it up before i even start. after the design and ventilation system basically i can follow the directions, im just bad when it comes to making the directions when it comes to this kinda stuff lol. but anyway im rambling, later everyone.

About your DWC system, I'm still trying to understand how the water is changed without removing the reservoir. I'm the type who'd really appreciate it if you could visually explain how things are done. Awesome setup you have sir!

wow ghost, wow. your one of the ones that got me going. Although i cant grow yet until i move in a few weeks, i have collected all my supplies. I found some awesome deals and picked up a 400w hps and 175wmh for 100 bucks all i need is a 400w bulb. I am gong to be running those new cmh bulbs in my cab.

i am just trying to understand your dwc too. This pic made me confused
this pic is from you lifting the top tray up?

how much water stays is on top of the airstones? Do you still recirculate?

nerve: You don't have to vent into the ceiling space, you can vent into the room and still maintain stealth, just insulate the duct and make sure you place the outlet in a hidden spot.
The best way to design an airflow system is to stand back a visualize the air moving through the cab, try and make the air flow smoothly for best efficiency.

ianmkv: I have a submersible pump that sits in the bottom of the res, it has a pipe attached to it that exits the res through a hole. When I want to drain the res I put the hose into a bucket and plug the submersible pump in. It takes about 3 minutes to drain the res.

Poker_Toker: Good luck with your cab. No I didn't lift the lid to take the photo, I have a 2" diameter hole cut in the side of the res just above the water level, I shot the photo through this hole. When the res is at 8 gallons I have about a 2.5 inch gap from the bottom of the tray to the top of the nutes. The nute depth in the res is about 6 inches (haven't checked these dimentions in a couple of years). I only recirculate for the first three days after clones are planted into the tray. I place the line close to the plants. Once the roots reach the nutes in the res I turn off the recirculating pump.
I used to recirculate for the entire grow but I never saw enough gain in yield to justify the recirculating pump raising my res temps by a degree for the entire grow.

I hope that helps.

Thanks for checking out my thread guys.

I am not going to document this grow but here are a few pics from the cab that I shot today.

I just want you guys to see that this cab just keeps ticking along, grow after grow.

Screen at day 9 Flower. This shot was taken after a 30minute training session. The single caliO plant is going to be a big one.

Side view of a c99, branching like crazy.

Here are the clones, they started showing roots at day 7 and these shots are at day 10.

100% of clones rooted.

Close up root porn.

Clones have been fed plain water and put back under the cover, they will remain close to dormant until I am ready for them.

ok so it helps having nicely rooted clones to put in there. I just got a 400w hps and i am wondering what size res i should get?
I already bought the AN nutes that came with big bud, bud blood and carboload so its either single dwc buckets or one res like yours. Nice to see your still going strong, what was your best yield and what strain was it?

Very nice job, Ghost! I love the way you say you built the cab around your ventilation plan and your trays. I'm going to borrow your ventilation system for my new cab. Good thinking!
