First Indoor Grow 9 Strains

I

i0dineAlf

Hi everyone!

This is my first grow in over ten years. :woohoo:

I've been lurking on these forums for the last 15 and finally decided to contribute.

After asking 5LeggedGoat (@The_Nug_Whisperer) and @TwoToneWilly every question on Instagram I had to pull the trigger.

Be sure to give them a follow on IG.
Definitely some of the friendliest people on there.

I started off with 35 seeds (I think) and ended up with 28 plants.
There is no blame on the breeders for this, I'm sure this way my fault.

The listing is below:

Inhouse Genetics: 5 Platinum Scout v2 FEM - (Forum Cookies x A9 Permafrost x UW Hashplant)
Inhouse Genetics: 3 Jelly Breath FEM (Mendo Breath x Dosidos)
Inhouse Genetics: 2 Sophies Breath x Purple Punch FEM
Duke Diamond's Vault: 4 Princess X SSGH (Grail C99 x Super Silver Haze)
Bodhi: 4 Roadkill Unicorn (purple unicorn x snow lotus f2 x snow lotus)
Bodhi: 3 Sunshine Day Dream (Bubbashine (Bubba Kush and Blue Moonshine) x Appalachia (green crack x jj’s tres dawg))
Bodhi: 3 Soar (Colombian Red x Old Mother Ghani)
707 Seed bank: 3 Cat Piss
Thug Pug Genetics: 1 Meat Breath (Meatloaf x Mendobreath)

I am using the soil mix from blazeoneup.
Next round I will try HammerHead's as well.

https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=95395&page=61
https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=228020&page=3

I will be only be using Dragon Fly Earth Medicine nutrients.

All of this is for personal use but the goal is 24 oz.

Started them under two (125 watt) compact flourescents.
Ordered three but a bulb was broke on the way here. :bashhead:

They are currently under a 600 watt hps.
This is day ten for them.

Hope you enjoy the show! :dance013:

PS - Will add pictures when I figure it out lol.

And some pictures...

And some pictures...

The tent is a 10' x 10' x 6'.

The plants were germinated 13 days ago.
Put in cups 11 days ago.
They have only been above the soil for 8 days.

Will most likely do a scrog (without topping the center cola).
Plan on vegging for 4 - 5 weeks.

This 600 watt hps will be replaced with a Gavita 750 soon.
I will be using two for flowering.
This should cover a 3 x 8 pretty decent.
Possibly a 4 x 8.

All criticism welcome. :tiphat:

They will be going into 3 gallon smart pots in a week or two.

More pics in a week!

Day 14 above soil

Day 14 above soil

There may be a little confusion from the previous posts.

Hopefully this clarifies them.

The Inhouse Genetics JellyBreath's are FEM S1. I've heard numerous breeders say S1's are generally not the same quality as the parent. However NSpecta from CSI Humboldt / Pirates of The Triangle disagrees and gave numerous examples on the Pot Cast. Hopefully he is correct. If not, that's ok. I have Jelly Sickle and Jelly Sorbet for next round!

These pics are from day 14 above soil. They will be vegged for three more weeks and put in the 3 gallon smart pots in the next week or so. I was wanting to use 5 gallon but after reading a couple hundred post on the topic, I was convinced 3 gallon was enough.

I will start making the SCROG screen in a week or two. I will also post the tutorial I use in case anyone else needs a reference.

The plants look good so far. The Sunshine Daydream and Platinum Scout v2 are currently the largest.

I will post again in a week or so. Until then I will just be... :watchplant:

Day 22 above soil

Day 22 above soil

The plants have been removed from the small Solo cups into 3 gallon smart pots.

Mixing 81 gallons of soil was a real pain in the ass.

I like the cups completely dry when transplanting.
However, I waited a day too long (and without watering) the plants took a beating. :bat:

Some plants were wilting really, really, really bad.
This definitely stunted their growth for a few days but it looks like they've turned around for the better in the last 72 hours.

They're currently under 1425 watts.
600 watt hps and 825 watts from the Gavita.

Unfortunately, I think they need another three weeks of vegging.
I'm still getting the room worked out.

The 600 watt hps will be replaced with another Gavita soon.
Lots of small issues that will get fixed over time.

Day 29 above soil

Day 29 above soil

Huge changes in a week. :yay:

The plants being in their three gallon smart pots with the great soil recipe by blazeoneup has them growing very fast.

Thanks for posting the recipe. :respect:

They haven't been fed anything except for water.
I will keep them in veg for two more weeks.

At this time, I will be putting up a scrog net.
It will be mainly used for keeping an even canopy.

It will also be used as a guide when trimming the bottom of the plant to prevent any scraggly buds from forming.

All energy will hopefully be going to the tops.

In week 6, I will start using the Dragon Fly Earth Medicine line.

More posts in a week...

The bigger the pot the better

And I personally wouldn’t attempt to veg plants in a 2 gal (or whatever those are) for 6-7 weeks. That’s just in my opinion if you attempt that that will be root bound and suffer

I would veg 1-2 more weeks in what you have them in then transplant to fives, and then veg two more weeks then flower.

Sorry I misunderstood what you meant at first. You are going to transplant in a week and then veg 2 more weeks? If that’s the case I would use the fives and stick to the plan you chose

I

3 gallon pots, not 2 gallon.

3 gallon pots, not 2 gallon.

I think you may have mis-read. :chin:
The smart pots are 3 gallons, not 2.

I will veg them for two more weeks and put them into flower. :plant grow:
They will stay in the 3 gallon pots.

The only thing that will change is a scrog net will be added right before changing the light cycle.

This would be a total of 6 weeks from seed.
The first 2 ½ weeks they were in the solo cups.

Hopefully they have enough space. :rasta:
If not, I will adjust in the future.

Fingers crossed and god speed! :skiiing:

Thanks for reading the journal and input! :thank you:

Day 36 above soil, the good, bad, and ugly.

Day 36 above soil, the good, bad, and ugly.

Well the plants exploded more this week... :headbange

They will not be receiving another week of veg.
The plants will hopefully be put into flower Thursday.

The tallest plant is 26 inches.
The shortest plant (Cat Piss) is around a foot.

So a little bit of organization was done today.

The first thing completed was adding the second Gavita.

They were setup using Hydrofarm ratchet straps.
They appear to be great for hanging lights.
We will see how they work out for the next few months.

The great thing about the Gavita's is the watts can be changed from 400 to 825.

I set both to 500 today and arranged the plants under both lights.

The shorter, more squat plants on the left.
The taller plants on the right.

They received their first feeding of Dragon Fly Eath Medicine Brilliant Black today.

Since the canopy is going to be a good old clusterfuck....
I decided I will make two scrogs.

One for the plants on the left.
One for the plants on the right.

We will see how this works out tomorrow.
The goal is to have both scrog nets setup Thursday.

The only bad thing I currently see is they're growing too fast.
The roots are all over at the bottom of the bags.

The roots from one plant, were trying to connect with roots from other plants.

After they are sexed, I will put them in 5 or 7 gallon pots.
Not sure how I'm going to make that smooth transition.

Now some pics...

And more pics... Roar!!!

So the grow tent is a 10 x 10 x 8 I believe.
I am only using 5 x 10 of the area.

Here are a few shots from outside the tent, all the way to the canopy.

Full view:

To the left... :dancer:

Pink Scrog Up!

Pink Scrog Up!

So I created both scrogs yesterday.
Only one has been setup.

I believe DJ Short said if you use pink string, your yields will triple.
Not sure what page on Cultivating Exceptional Cannabis I read that on.
I'll have to take another look...

Anyhoo to the pics...

When you walk in...

The pink scrog...

A view from the top...

A real fussy sativa...

The left side, with no screen.

I couldn't find any decent timers at Lowe's, Home Depot or Walmart.
So I will order one today.

I will also purchase some 5 or 7 gallon smart pots.
I'm not sure just yet...

It looks like they will get their sixth week of veg.
The timer will go on next week and exactly 42 days above soil.

The scrog on the right will have its legs lowered as well.
It didn't come out perfect, but it was a learning lesson.

Until next time...
Roar!!!!!!

5 gallon bags, bottoms stripped and screen lowered.

5 gallon bags, bottoms stripped and screen lowered.

All plants were transplanted from 3 gallon smart pots into 5 gallon bags.

Five gallon bags are huge.

I asked for 7 gallon at the store but they didn't have them, thankfully.

The 5 gallon bags raised the height of the plants quite a bit.
This messed up the second scrog.

The legs on the second scrog sit too low now.
I will make new ones next week.

The legs on the first scrog sat too high, so they were lowered two inches.

The indica plants really don't need one right now honestly.
Cat Piss is the most short, squat plant on earth.

The plants went without water for four days and it showed. :bashhead:

Lots of the bottom leaves were yellow and beat up.
I just ripped them off and started the defoliation.

Using the xacto knife, I spent five hours taking off bottom branches.

Some more cleanup will be done in the future - after finding out whats male and whats female.

I started training branches, using the string to lead them to unused squares in the scrog.

My goal is to have a head in each square of the scrog.

I put the plants that came from fem seeds in the middle.

Today they got their first dose of Dragon Fly Earth Medicine Lush Roots.

I know you're supposed to wait a week after cleaning up the bottoms and transplanting before putting them into flower.

I said fuck it, the plants are plenty big to flower - I'm putting the timers on.

Only issue was the timer uses two prong input and the extension cords are three prong.

This will get fixed Friday or Saturday.
Friday starts the 12¼ off, 11¾ on.

Next week the intake will be added.
Just need the ducting is all.

Exhaust may be another week or two.

The indica plants...

The bottoms cleaned up.

The scrog filled.

All together now...

Day 50 above soil, Day 3 of flowering

Day 50 above soil, Day 3 of flowering

The plants are getting big! :plant grow:

Today is day 3 of flowering and they are really starting to stretch.

I tied the plants back down again.
I'll do this one more time, then let them grow vertically.

The sooner they show sex the better.
It will be a little easier to have the right scrog finalized.

I have 10 fem plants, the other 18 are unknown.
Hoping for 19 females total.

Got the intake fan but creating a box to kill the sound it makes.
This should be put on this weekend.

The left scrog will be completed this weekend as well.
Forgot to get the pvc pipe, smfh.

Exhaust will be put on next weekend.

All criticism welcome!!!

Left side...

From a distance...

Before tying down...

After tying down...

Last pics before removing males...

Last pics before removing males...

I looked at the plants this morning.

All of the tops I pulled down, stayed down.
However new ones took their place.

Impressed with the stretch and speed of growth.

I figured I would show the right side one more time.
The males will be getting ripped out in a few days.
Want to be positive those are pollen sacks.

It looks like there's at least 5 males in the scrog. :badday:
This should leave around 8 females.

I certainly think the 8 females left can fill the canopy no issue.

Males found so far:
3 Columbian Red x Old Mother Ghani
1 Princess x SSGH
1 Roadkill Unicorn

Only regs showing female are Sunshine Daydream and Cat Piss.
They're just barely showing white pistils.

We'll see what happens...
Definitely glad I purchased some fem seeds as well.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! :moon:
