NC's search!

I guess the search continues always for a lot of growers. We're always looking for those special girls. Commercial guys for that one girl that keeps the boys coming back, bag appeal effect etc. I grow for me and my significant other, so she doesn't have to go to shops that rip her off with bad descriptions, over charging etc. Or street guys where its worse. Some of our best mothers are really shitty bag appeal like our SSSDH that looks like hell but smokes like heaven, not appealing commercially at all. Makes you think how many plants over the eons have been overlooked because of purely asthetic reasons lol. Some of our keepers happen to look nice though, panlawi :)

This is that next batch of girls where we are hoping to find some good canabanoid profiles and terps. And they are fucking ugly  This is a full packet of f13-throwback beans from DJ Short and is going into flower in about 3-4 weeks still. Some are symetrical and dont have crinkle at all, some very crinkley, some pure red stem, some lime green, and every varient inbetween. Im not planing on keeping males, but if the red stem is a boy ill try him out. Topping all to create some bushes. Besides a few low dose fish emulsion feedings, these are water and pot of gold soil only.

Too bad no Smell-o-Vision

Too bad no Smell-o-Vision

Some pic updates. First the cookies, Girl scout Jones has a lemon chem cookies smell, very nice. She has some sterile boy parts on her, not unusual for the fems. The Connoisseur Cookies are low yield but dreamy, super coated and smell like the doughy sweet subtle cookie terps. The rainbow Jones smells straight sour patch kids grape flavor, strong sugary grape smell upfront, subtle sour. VERY nice. The other RJ is lemons and chem, not as unique but nice. And lastly the purple Mexican, pink magenta with low temps at 72F (22C) at night. I will be dropping temps to low 60s (15C) at end of flower to get some nice color out of her, lemon and pepper/spice from this one.

Some real winners from unexpected sources, the purple Mexican has potential to be a winner on terps.

Purple Mexican & CBD Therapy

Purple Mexican & CBD Therapy

Purple Mexican has some berry, fruit, bubblegum smells. She's naturally purple with night temps around 65F. She has the looks, taste and high??? We'll see.
20171102_181347.jpg 20171102_181706.jpg

CBD therapy yields well, but I could tell from onset the dense bud structure was going to need support... I find that annoying lol. If it has the medical effects that we are looking for we may keep it. A family friend with neurogenic pain wanted to try cbd rich topical ointments. I have never made topical applications or worked in the realm (purposefully anyway) of cbd rich genetics, so this is the beginning step of a new project for me.

Conniesuer Cookies: if chem influence of terps is subtle but amazing. The slightest hint of chem goodness.

Girl scout jones. These don't smell very strong of the lemon funk they had earlier in life. I may have pissed her off at Some point. Not surprising to me, I can have that effect on women, wife says I'm a pro.

20171102_184205.jpg 20171102_184148.jpg

Juicy fruit lotus #5 was a hash plant type I have two other cuts of, this is this cuts swan song. Very resinous, smells a mix of fruit and lemons... but the hash from my #4 is cdfm for hash purposes. The flowers are nice too.

Nevils Haze Mango

Nevils Haze Mango

The mango cut. I keep looking through these beans, there is frankincense in this here smoke! This particular cut I'm giving one last grow to get it right, she just doesn't have the legs or umph! I'm giving it one more try, let her go longer, more careful in the humidity levels at cure, etc. I think if I can get it perfect, maybe I can keep this one around, terp profile is dead ringer for mafia and smoke/room smell is frankincense...

She was harvested at approx 54 days, a little early but she kept dropping balls. She smells of burnt rubber and hints of orange or sweet citrus. It is a putrid smell but not very intense/loud. Rock solid buds, few pics of flash on and off to show structure and resin production.

f13tb / la nina / sssdh #2

f13tb / la nina / sssdh #2

Some f13 in flower a few weeks, these are fairly uniform. Not all are pictured. One mutant male, one mutant female. 6 total fems, 7 males. Maybe unlucky odds, or good luck depending on your ambitions/view points lol. Clones of all fems and select males are being kept until we isolate the better females. Also a la niña from MNS older stock, circa 2010. And my sssdh keeper from a pack dating same time frame, pretty haze phenom.

La niña & SSSDH

La niña & SSSDH

I love SSSDH. Even with tons of nice stuff in the wee pantry, these jars get low quick. The La Niña has that typical white widow early flower smell, clean floral etc. Not a fan of that, in the past that smell has lead to some uninteresting terpene profiles.

The purple mex is nice, it's the winner of that grow for sure. Smells of dark berries and incense/spice. One friend put it as "purple + incense". The effedct is good too, nice and heady, calm, warming effect... you feel the body in the way down just a little, it's nice. Super relaxing bud. Pictured on the left, ace panlawi is right if you're curious

I wish I was a better photographer. Battling a borg invasion, introducing predatory mites. These lil fuckers love my haze hybrids, the f13 they could care less it seems.

Pictured f13, sssdh and la niña. The f13 are 3-4 weeks, they are fairly uniform in pheno minus the one very frosty stacked bract crinkle pheno. There are some ace Panama haze and 90s haze (sssdh x nl5hz) just starting first week under 11/13. I'm really busy at my real job this time of year, flowering girls have suffered :comfort: I just want to comfort my girls and give them tthe TLC they need.

Thanks for peeking in guys. More than anything this thread is tracking my grow skills development and the cuts I have as I dial them in.

Up soon is a very ACE, very HAZE grow. The guys currently being vegged and jumping into flower next in 6 weeks or so include Thai Chang Mai x Malawi (3rd gen Golden Tiger) Green Haze Honduras, and some home made Skunk Haze x Golden Tiger f1 gen, and some other haze plants from Mr Nice & Nirvana. Should be fun! Hope you guys stick around.

Flowering in final weeks

Flowering in final weeks

My f13 throwback/reproductions are coming to final weeks flowering. The SSSDH and La Nina still need time. Hopefully these are a little better photo representations than previous posts.

The f13 phenos I see represented are in three categories, and if you treat this as an f1 cross of f13 x bbf4 that's normal I guess.(Which I now do, this is less a reproduction and more a cross in my limited horticultural opinion & vocabulary). Blueberry leaning, f13 leaning and a few a mix of growth characteristics. Mostly im categorizing by growth, they haven't been sampled. The terps... interesting. They are dispersed across no particular pheno and contain: Candy/blueberry, lemon, hash plant/resin, and oddly one very ugly smelling burnt rubber/tire (a bb pheno).

50/50 mix
