I said, back in 2014 that Walmart of weed was going to dominate the market, What now?

Legalization has brought a huge cannabis mononoply to Canada and Cali. and some Med states as well.

Terra tech is taking control of the market share very quickly.
I tried to warn of this back in 2014 but the news was not recieved well.

Does anyone think that the Walmart of weed is a good thing for consumers?

Pretty soon their may be just one supplier running many small companies from the shadows.

Do you think it will this be good or bad for canna consumers?

Thanks
Shag

Will hopefully raise the price of non wal mart weed. At least that is how I used to feel about it. Not as sure now?

People must see a difference. I shop generic about as much as possible. Some generic is not worth it. We're not all rich. So it's a pick and choose.

Suppose co-ols have a lot to do with having a voice. But who runs that ya know?

what do you think was the better path?
when something goes legal, it's a legitimate business opportunity
and often that means big players get advantages, it may suck but that's the real world we live in
laws that create a niche for smaller players? nice work if you can get it
but the history for it pretty sparse

I’ve been raising the alarm since ‘06...

Legalization by definition IS regulation!

I am all for the Walmart of weed. Because they will never be able to produce a top shelf product a small time grower that is willing to invest time and energy to creating the perfect plant.

Growing weed is part science and part art. One without the other will leave you with an inferior product.

To borrow an analogy, I'm not worried about Bubba and his Budweiser. I'll never appeal to him. I'm looking for the guy who wants the craft brews, and is willing to spend more to get a better product.

But Sam Adams is now making a decent New England ipa.... I say it’s pretty much a given that these companies will own states with larger population. Small farming communities will own the places those ass hats don’t wanna live. Maine is still only medical, the big guys that have the definition of mids are going out of business already. Small creative high quality caregivers are killing it but the prices are deflated.

Good luck with you mail order swag investment.
You may be partnering with dirty cops to make cash off canabis.
That has a strange ring to it, what does that sound like to you?
Partnering with people who have imprisioned cannabis users to make money, I would not say that too loud.

None for me thanks, Canada is getting screwed.

What’s Wrong With Canada’s Cannabis Legalization Plan

It’s prohibited under the Cannabis Act, for example, just to possess a budding or flowering cannabis plant in a public place and citizens can be imprisoned for five years for doing so.

No transparancy, you don't know what your buying.
And what your buying is renamed and rebranded with names like snoop dogg kush.
Might be cool if he had a cut, but it is someone elses stuff rebranded.

Again no thanks.
Why would you want that crap?

The Cannabis Act has also introduced a total of 45 new cannabis offenses. the potential punishments for these offenses are comparable to the penalties for crimes like “pornography with children, terrorism, and assaulting police.”

“I’m sorry to say I cannot celebrate. There are now 45 new federal cannabis offences & many harsher penalties under #C45. Pardons & amnesty aren’t included. Criminalization & gov’t anti-pot propaganda continue.

Thousands of peaceful people continue to suffer arrest, jail, criminal records, exclusion for pot — while cops & politicians who opposed legalization & ruined lives with the law are cashing in on legal weed, with no apology, the list includes 40 former police and political officials who are now financially benefiting from legal cannabis.

The Canadian government has yet to make any concrete promises as to what measures it plans to take to make things fairer for citizens who were prosecuted under soon-to-be outdated cannabis laws.

Shaggy I'm not saying it is right, or fair, or ethical but it is reality. I think in five or ten years it will be mostly big corporate Cannabis that controls markets globally. Maybe I don't like it any better than big corporate anything but I have to deal with it. My preferred way of dealing with it is to invest in it in as prudent and profitable a way as possible.

Ok, so at least you see it for what it is and you are honest about it.:tiphat:
I see your point, I too think it will all be huge corperations running the show.
I hate big corporations, but sometimes I shop at walmart, not often.
So we are similar in our views, I am sorry if I sounded like I was attacking your views.
I was really trying to defend mine, but kinda went about it the wrong way.
I do think your right when you say the train has left the station, but it is off the rails...LOL

Oops. Clicked like.

Actually the right thing to do is boycott coorperate cannabis and let everyone you know you are against it. The roll over and take approach is bullshit! Trying to invest in something you do not agree on is the dumbest shit ever! This kind of logic will destroy any chance of this plant ever being truly free.

Lame. Sad part is people that think like you are way too common.

Every consumer good in the developed world today is monopolized. Legal cannabis will fall into the same capitalist model.

Great thing is it is legal... Everyone can home grow, or buy/(give a donation) from a home grower.

Some people buy "local" "organic" tomatoes, lettuce, milk, etc. There is that in cannabis also for those who want it (most don't want to pay for it). For those who don't care will buy cannabis at commercial prices.

Large scale indoor is as good as small scale indoor maybe better. Temps, lighting, humidity are all be more dialed in. Many grow managers have horticulture degrees and much more experience then the average criminal grower not scared to go to prison. Large outdoor grows are getting dialed in also light dep, green houses.

All positive unless you were making money from illegal sales, then.. game over for you. Time to get a real grow or real job.

Let me correct that- Everyone will be able to grow. Weed is becoming legal. It is a process. Times are changing.

Just like prohibition, it will most likely always be regulated but everyone will eventually be able to grow a plant. We already have at least 3 states Colorado, Cali, Oregon, and more a leaning/getting ready to fall.

Of course things are strict when things start up. Culturally it's not all there yet. It's getting there slowly as people are conditioned to be open to more possibilities. It takes time because the propaganda really did a lot more damage than most of you realize. If you really care it's not enough to grow it and post here. It takes reaching hearts and minds. If ya don't want to do that, then you just get a vote. Getting all upset does more harm than good, because it paints a picture of bad character.

This is the inevitable result of capitalism. If you don't like it then it's capitalism that needs fixed, not the cannabis market.
