The wife and I were out shopping in the northern part of the Philippines a couple years ago.There are always people asking for donations,and many of those are children (for obvious reasons).One little boy (about 9 or 10) approached me with an outstretched palm that contained the 5 pesos that someone had just given him.I took the 5 pesos and said Salamat (thank you) multiple times,as if accepting a gift.
I'll never forget the look on his face.
I gave him the 5 back along with 20 more.
