Clones placed into Soil Bags

I have some clones I was thinking about just cutting a slit in the Fox Farms Oceans Forest Bag and plunking one down in the center and let the roots just colonize the entire bag.

good or bad idea?

If you do that. You better make lots of holes on the bottom side
of the bag to let out the excess water or it will be a wet mess.

Post pics of before and after.

is there any evidence of plants growing larger with Horizontal versus Vertical bedding?

Not that I know of but horizontal would be much easier though.
Why don't you try both for comparison and post those results.

just transplanted into Smart Pots instead, makes more sense economically
