Hey y'all, this is my first grow beyond a solo cup..now they are in 5 gallon buckets and i grow outdoors, bringing them in at night. I am growing from seeds that came in my sack. I got lucky. One is very skunky, and the other is lemony. But i dont know what i have. Just know i planted in march, and one plant has done way better than the other. Any advice to give, id appreciate. I read alot. And follow what seems to be good advice on threads like these.

They look good. Few tips:

1. Let the leaves and branches grow naturally. The more leaves the faster the plant can grow. Make sure plant gets at least 14 hours of light a day. It will start blooming when it gets 12 hours of light or less a day.

2. Start with a good organic dirt like foxfarms ocean forest, happy frog or roots organics or something with perlite (white chunks) These have added fertilizers so you will not have to feed in veg, maybe will have to feed 1-2 times in bloom but probably not much. Stay away from miracle grow and cheap soil.

3. If using fertilizer I suggest going with dry stuff like roots organics dry nutrient line grow/bloom. You just sprinkle some on the top then water only needed a few times during bloom (top dressing). You can use any liquad fertilizer though and just add it to the water. If you go to your local grow store they will have lots to choose from. I like the dry stuff because its cheaper and you get alot of it.

4. Only water when the dirt on top first inch or so looks/feels dry.

Main things are good dirt (organic w/ earth worm castings). Good water. Lots of light.

I started giving bloom nutrients last week. Being my first successful grow beyond a baby, I'm not sure when to harvest. I know I haven't done everything right this time, but I have learned a lot, regardless. I used a combo of organic soil and regular potting soil. I got lucky with my bag seeds from corn I got.I planted the one in question late february. She has been flowering since April, and now her tops are hard and dense. Since I don't know what strains I have, I'm not sure how long they flower. I don't want to miss my window of opportunity for harvest. I have a magnifier. The trichomes are turning cloudy and the pistils on the ops are mostly orange. Do u need to wait for the whole plant to be ready for harvest? Any help it advice is appreciated.

I would harvest when 10-20% of the trichomes are amber, beyond that it gets less psychoactive for my taste. Often times the top most bud will be farther along in terms of maturity, not a lot but some. For example on a Christmas tree looking plant you could take the top third of flowers and leave the lowers to mature more if they are behind. Not bad for a first try, took me a few attempts to get flowers, but I was also fifteen years old when trying.

This is probably my 4th attempt. And I'm happy with it mostly. I read too much and got excited a while ago. I trimmed too many leaves. And topped it when it was just started to flower. Then did lst on both plants. I really thought I killed one, but she came back much stronger. Now she smells like fruity pebbles. My son is really hoping for that strain lol. I call her Jane and this one is Mary. Haven't named the others yet. I only have one baby that i know the strain. Last week I was blessed with a blueberry skunk seed from a 4.2 gram sack. I terminated it that night. Planted 2 days later. She is doing great already. What do I need to feed them this little?

Mary, Jane and Happy look like they are low on nitrogen, I would give them 1/2 - 3/4 strength fertilizer like Pure blend Pro or a fish hydrosylate. The soil mix looks like it has a decent amount of wood chips in it and that will use up some of your nitrogen more than if it wasn't there. Not a bad thing necessarily, just have to make sure enough fertilization is available.

looking good. my two cents would be to get a bag of kelp meal from your local feed store. kelp meal has everything you need for veg and flower and itll grow some amazing plants:) steer clear of the stoner sciences around like bloom and veg nutes or shit like roots organic. get sphagnum peat moss lava rock and the best vermicompost you can find. amend the vermicompost with around 1 cup or kelp meal per cu ft then pre soak the peat with aloe or something with a high saponin content. then mix it all together and you can plant right in it. make sure to mulch!
Much love

I would definitely not give your plant any fertilizer that contains nitrogen in flower that is big no no. Harvest when plants have milky/cloudy trichomes. You can wait until they have a 10-20% amber if you want but this is not needed. Some strains continue to throw white hairs. Do not harvest off the appearance of the hairs go by the trichome heads when they are 90% cloudy or milky you can harvest.

Root organics/fox farms is good stuff and is usually coco or peat moss based it also contains kelp meal, sand, lime and bat guanos already added. You don't need to ammend it or mulch it. It is much easier for new growers.

It is also not "stoner science" that there are different bloom & veg nutrients. Plants need different nutrients at different times in their life kelp meal is not all your plants need LOL.

This isn't "stoner science" but ACTUAL science.

ive gotten amazing results using only kelp meal teas on shitty bagged soilXD better then any bottles ive ever run. i just mentioned kelp because its one thing she needs to buy. also feather, fish, fish bone, and soybean meals all are good but why use then when you got neem and kelpXD soybean? feather? they dont sound too healthy at all.
