You have already learned the first, and most important lesson. It IS gambling, and it is their casino. They make the rules, and change them when it suits them. FASB 157 being classic example.

It very much is a big rich mans casino. If the $GME story has taught us anything it's that the game is rigged by people who privatize the profit while socializing the costs.

That's why the hedge fund was bitching in cnbc about how 'unfair' it is for the masses to fuck up their little game. We found an exploit and they are facing potential infinite losses.

I'm just learning, as well, but for now, it's a game whose entertainment value cannot be understated. I've spent what I normally spend in a weekend at the casino and frankly it's way more thrilling.

An investment club is a good way to approach it if you wish to take a traditional approach.

Everyone wants to jump on someone else's bandwagon. Learn to read a balance sheet and profit and loss report. Then you can see whether the current price is low or high for yourself.

I have a 401k but this situation with game stop really caught my attention.

I read a story that social justice warriors in Asia want in on the action. I figure the tug of war might continue, but should be resolved in the next three months...probably a lot sooner.
I am thinking of buying some out of the money calls and puts with a one to three month duration.

I think I'm going read, watch reddit, and wait for the market to crash then put what I have into the market.

can someone enlighten me? i get how crypto works in general but what i dont get is how do you turn the coin into money? if you transfer it to a bank they are going to ask questions and also you would be taxed on it so what good is a million in bitcoin if you want to buy a house or do anything that leaves a trail. it seems to be only useful for shady transactions.

I assume it's like weed stocks, even though weed is federally illegal you can legally buy weed stocks and make or lose money.

What good is a job if you get taxed on your pay? Oh yeah, you get to keep and spend the rest.

I been on a reddit kick lately. Got in the weed stocks by accident because I'm 100% a believer long term but they got pumped so I sold early last week and rebought Friday. Bought zom at $1.08 at the advice of reddit and almost trippled my money. I took my money from that and bought CCL at 20 a share, I'm really betting on cruises. I bought XOM at 50 a share for the dividend and I believe higher oil prices should shoot up the stock.
