So...what's up today?

At least I was in the same state.....

Morning another cold one. Lots to do today. Don't know where to start. Not gonna worry about it until I finish this cup of coffee.

Brewing beneficial tea for the girls so that needs to cook a couple more hours.

I have 5 starts showing roots so will up pot them....the rest are about to pop soon as well. I moved two Lucinda's into flower yesterday to make room for the starts in the veg room. And sprayed for bugs first thing as well.

Wow, guess I have already done a bunch of stuff....more coffee...

Yes.....but is it contagious? - just by living around crazy people - you find that your mind is challenged by madness - and maybe you want a taste?

Then that thought crosses the mind - can I define sanity?, and what if I were to go mad - would it really be that bad? - and could I make it back to the land of the sane.....again? <where ever that is>

I'm very familiar with the gospel of the family Malkavian, I am just too soft now in my 30s. The mirror is the self, and the world, our perceptions shape the image we see in the mirror, and therefore influence the world around us. In order to see beyond the barriers put in place by society and human biology, the mirror, one's own perceptions, must be shattered, forming countless shards of possibility from a limited whole. "Break the mirror, idiot." was my mantra in college and my 20s, and I would love to return to that mentality someday, but as someone who did not achieve business success in his youth, I feel the need to lay down some roots before letting the crazy bloom again. So, going to therapy and cooperating with my doctor like a good boy for a while, I keep up the good diet and activity levels, they don't pump me full of poison, 5mgs a month instead of 500 twice daily.

I am scared for my life.

I apologize for introducing a sad note to the thread.

I just went for a follow up appointment with the root canal dentist.

I am continuing to have extreme overwhelming pain in my mouth, mostly in the teeth area, on the left side of my mouth.

The endodontist said, "everything is OK". He refuses to do a root canal on teeth #12 & #20.

The 3 teeth that have suffered the most abuse the last 3 months are #11, #12 (upper left canine) and #20 (lower left molar.)

I told the endodontist, this is not pain that I can live with. I don't want pain that I can only live with by taking an opioid or opioid mimick.

He said, you'll have to see a pain specialist.

For some reason he doesn't see, when it comes to tooth pain, he is the pain specialist.

I do not mean to be gloomy, but this is the kind of pain that leads people to seek euthanasia.

I am just fvcking shocked that they are not taking my pain more seriously, in the senses of making it go away short term (painkiller - what I am taking comes not from a dentist, but an online pharmacy) and long term - killing the teeth that are having the pain.

Meanwhile the dentist that got the ball rolling, who did the cavity filling that got infected, is nowhere to be seen.

Part of the situation is, tens of thousands of Americans are in very similar situations. For some reason, their pain is not taken seriously by American doctors.

I honestly would not bet that I will be alive in 3 months, and that scares the SH.T out of me.

American "doctors" have a huge problem with treating situations that don't fit into the standard textbook categories.

Painkillers are only a temporary fix.

The standard responses, "oh well then you have a psychological problem", completely miss the point.

I have a tooth problem that may not be addressed by the standard of care, of dentists where I live.

I will probably be writing the Dugoni school in SF to ask the dentists there for help.

Sorry for making such a sad post.

I live in fear of the next time I visit a dentist, with years of hard times and neglect having taken their toll. They totally refuse to work with you or are they pushing for major surgery and long term hospitalization?

"Health Care" in Oregon is the worst I have ever seen, anywhere.

That has been true in terms of general care.

Now it is obviously true, in terms of dental care. Dentists in Southern Oregon are not able or willing to treat tooth pain, that is caused by an Oregon dentist. They choose to be bound by a strict definition of the "standard of care" which is beyond broken. It is F-22-ish.

Could you elaborate on your own tooth pain ? Details don't bother me at all. I described the tooth numbering in another post.

ALL TOOTH PAIN CAN BE TREATED - because dentists have the option of killing the nerve.

I also live with constant eye pain. However, one of the options, Enucleation (removing the eye), doesn't sound good.

With teeth, if the tooth is beyond help, you don't really need the nerve anyway.

The nerve was helpful, for a while. But most human beings just want to be able to chew your food, live without pain or with manageable pain, and maybe to be able to smile for the photograph.

I will be writing a lot of academic dentists, the OR state dental board, etc., asking for help.

Please don't be concerned that me talking about euthanasia means I would give up easily.

I will probably go so far as to update my resume and to write some of the Silicon Valley CEO's, asking if I can work for them, and temporarily have medical care that takes my tooth pain as seriously as their doctors take their health.

It is possible that I would have better results, simply by crossing a state line, and using the services of an endodontist in California.

If the endodontist today had scheduled me for a follow up visit 2 weeks out, and agreed to neutralize the problem teeth if the pain persists - that's all I want.

Oh lucky for me genetics have blessed me with tooth nerves that quickly die off once exposed, so pain isn't as much a factor, it's just those broken fragments of molars sitting in the back of my jaw are a festering wound that could turn into an abscess at any point, or they may already be doing so and my fear of the dentist will be my downfall.

Sorry to hear about Oregon health care giving you the run around, and everyone always says Portland is supposed to be this haven for progressives, go to think. Gosh, for years people in Mexico have fled to California for better lives and health care, now people in Oregon are considering it, sad day for our country.

I definitely understand your fear of the dentist.

I suggest going to a teaching hospital - the Dugoni school at
https://www.dental.pacific.edu/
is one example. Since you appear to be in Denver, for sure there are good dental schools.

Just talking with the other patients waiting in line, you will learn which students are worth your trust.

Then the trick is finding the miracle student. I started out with a guy named Dr. Raja Shah, an Indian-American, who was just superb.

Then they passed me off to a woman student, whose lateness for our first appointment caused us to only get 1/2 the work done that we planned.

I asked to be transferred back to Dr. Shah.

He took care of 8 cavities and one crown replacement. The crown replacement was a work of art. It also drew in a few of the professors. Then the anaesthesia wore off, while I had a tooth stump on the lower right that looked like a bloody Mayan pyramid.

So it was a little like a patient waking up during an appendectomy and talking shop with the surgeons. I couldn't help but be fascinated.

I also suggest learning as much as you can about dentistry itself. So you know the status of each of your teeth, and the names of the pieces of tooth. Each of those pieces of root has a name.

I understand all too well that it is agonizing.

Then it's a matter of being a little like Steve Jobs (without being an asshole). Just keep insisting on, not perfection, but help getting healthier.

Simply refuse to put up with a bad dentist, or a dentist that treats you like a farm animal. I would much prefer an honest dentist who says, "I know the condition is very painful, but the DEA is breathing down my ass and I can't write prescriptions for pain medications." That's better than just ignorring the situation.

The dentist today suggested that I might go to a "pain specialist" - but he didn't give me a prescription for any pain medication.

Not to scare you, but those bits of tooth have the ability to become necrotic - dead tissue. Embedded in your skull.

Sounds like we have something in common !

The problem is that they are 1/2 inch away from the blood supply to your brain. If the situation goes bad, it's a month in the hospital and a $500,000 bill. Also your body is weakened in that situation, and that is when Domino Effects occur. E.g. a stroke or a heart attack.

The pain from an abscess is bad enough.

OH YEAH -
https://www.medsmex.com/

I suggest making DAMN SURE that you have a ready supply of antibiotics.

28x 500 milligram Cephalexin
28x 500 milligram Penicillin
28x 500 milligram Amoxicillin

I have now been prescribed all 3. Your immune system might need help, if an infection onsets. Having antibiotics could save your life, or make the difference between an outpatient situation, and an inpatient situation (where you need to be hospitalized.)

Don't leave your health in the hands of Assholes.

I also suggest making DAMN SURE that you have pain medications that will help you deal with the pain. So you can keep up the rest of your life, and a tooth or medical situation doesn't cause you to miss paying a bill - and your credit score is reduced.

I'll save access to pain medications for another post.

If you do get a phone call from a Viagra telemarketer, ask them if they have a website. Some of those people selling medications over the phone are quite professional and they actually help people.

DAMN I WISH I COULD SMOKE A DOOB RIGHT NOW. My gums and everything are still sensitive.

Will probably go and get a selection of edibles soon. Who knows, maybe a CBD gummi bear is exactly what I need !

...Don't leave your health in the hands of Assholes.
Thanks for the advice, i'll look into getting work done at the teaching hospital, we have a couple here in Denver. There's also a dentist who does free work once a year, but you gotta start lining up at 4am on Christmas Morning and potentially wait for hours just to be told they are full up.

There's also that fear that i'll end up one of those guys who gets half his teeth pulled all at once due to a few years of neglect and a long stint without a dentist visit and be stuck with redneck/meth head mouth for the rest of my life.

The whole situation can be overwhelming.

I think it helps a lot to have a friend or relative along, to "pound on the table" for you. To remember your initial goals for the medical session, and to keep the "doctor" from steam rolling you with some doctor bullshit.

I played that same role for a woman friend who had a terrible crippling and painful result from LASIK eye surgery. She was painfully light sensitive. Every time I drove her to an appointment, I made sure the staff gave her a room with the lights dimmed.

I can be extremely assertive. At least I helped her a little bit by making her medical appointments a little less uncomfortable.

I suggest that teeth be pulled one at a time. Christ that's traumatic enough.

How you feel is obviously VERY FVCKING IMPORTANT.

Losing teeth makes people feel old. Feeling old sucks.

I suggest fighting to keep every tooth.

That can be a double-edged sword. I tried very hard to keep my Tooth #11, which was recovering from an infection.

I would have done my other teeth a favor if I had had the root canal on September 21, instead of October 9.

Meth Mouth is fascinating, to me.

Because I usually take medications for chronic pain, that affected my saliva. Made my mouth drier.

Smoking Cannabis then makes my mouth even drier - and that's not good.

XYLITOL GUM - Get Some. It helps to restore your saliva - assuming you smoke Cannabis.

"Xylitol is a sugar alcohol used as a sweetener."

How it works - the bacteria that attack your teeth, think the Xylitol is food. So they consume it, and then starve to death. It's like giving the bacteria that rot your teeth, a case of Anorexia.

I would be very screwed without Xylitol.

Evening all.

Sorry to hear about your dentist issues Phatty. My wife and daughter both had major dental issues last year. My wife was handled so poorly we are changing dentists. Don't really want to get into it. But this was the dentist fault. My daughter grinds her teeth so bad that she actually ground away some of her jaw bone....had to have it replace withe cadaver bone. All worked out and a good job was done...

Got a shitload done today. Going fishing tomorrow...oh and have wood to stack at my cabin. Going alone this time ..... no time for the wife and dog. Hopefully will have some picks of the adventure...

Will check in early tomorrow and then bug out.

Taking my neighbor up there with me...this is why...

My God, the pain must have been 11 on a scale of 1 to 10.

Sounds like it resolved healthy.

That is the main crevice that sweeps below one of the thoroughly picked over 'mother lode' pockets in my backyard.

It continues to the Northwest, and crosses the property of the piece of land to my North (which is not built and is owned by another neighbor's brother ... they're not doing anything with it), and on to the next neighbor, who has 55 acres, which is Ground Zero for what was a Placer Gold mining operation 100 years ago.

That neighbor has most of the Gold. Once I went over there and he was preparing for a board meeting (with his grandchildren), by going through a few cubic yards of black-sands.

He pans it enough to pick all the gold out of the black-sands, then gives a 5 gallon bucket or 2 of concentrated gold sands to his grand-children at family gatherings on the weekend.

He is also not super social - doesn't like outsiders, i.e. people from California, the young people that grow 1/2 acre of pot down the road, etc. He's the one that called me up on September 5 and told me he was going to kill my cat, who is one of my best friends. i.e. he is a Mixed Bag.

SO FAR, I have mostly flour gold. About 1 ton of fines (screened to .015 particle size) and 2 tons of gross fines (gravel mixed in).

Assays show 24 grams to 30+ grams per ton in the good parts.

The amount of work to recover the Gold ... seems infinite.

I would like to build my own shaker table, but for that you need your full wits about you. I was going to make a small one, and use the 60 hertz armatures from the $10 shavers at home depot.

Wow, saying that, I'm almost selling myself on finishing the project.

My guideline is the shaker tables at the Bjorkdahl facility in Sweden, bought by Elgin Mining in Canada in 2012 ... which was then bought by Mandalay.

https://www.mandalayresources.com/properties/bjorkdal/

They used to have a picture of their shaker tables. They put the ground up ore on a table about 5x10. It has running water etc. A huge room with about 100 shaker tables.

The gold is concentrated in a triangular shape, about 2 feet long, 6 inches across, with other sand on both sides.

I fled abusive family and half-assed medical regulations just to be considered an outsider after 12 years, more than 1/3 of my life? Some Californians saw the writing on the wall from the beginning, and fled the wild west of weed asap. I did my research, and decided CO was the best fledling medical state there was, threw in my lot and set down roots, rewarded 12 years later seeing Colorado become the model for cannabis laws, both medical and recreational.

@ buzzmobile......hunker down my friend that storm is a monster. I just looked at it on the weather map and damn it is huge. I am afraid with the earth's temps rising storms like this are gonna become more normal. Hope all in its path are doing what is necessary to protect their property and themselves as best as possible.

I wanted to drop by to say Michael is not welcome here again. We had minor damage to our home but our county got hammered. We had a lot to clean up but the old house held together. We got power back Monday and this morning the internet was up. We survived another one. Hurricanes are not fun.

The grow did reasonably well in the dark.

Dreamt last night about gold panning, thanks guys

Get any Dream Nuggets ?

I had about 20 bags of pot on the Kitchen counter.

Went through that looking for seeds, put most of it in a Compost Container, to make worm castings.

Added 'Cujo' to my Netflix Queue.

A real productive day !!! /sarc
