Is It Really Legal?

The voters say make it legal. So the legislature changes the law puts all kinds of stipulations on taxes, licenses, and limitations on how much you can grow. On growing, what ever your limit is - 3 plants - 6 plants, 12 plants - you grow your plants and there's a good chance you may not be able to sustain your self until the end of the next season.

Let's exclude people like forum members who have devoted allot of time effort and money to learning to grow. The average person seems to have little chance of sustaining themselves with a successful grow. If you have friends or family in the city or that can't grow, and you want to share with them, you become a criminal for growing enough to share. The system is geared to eventually make you a customer of the big money guy who had the legislation tailored to fit them.

All in all, if we were talking cucumbers there would be no issue. It just seems that, even though it's legal, they still want to villanize pot growers with the restrictions put in place by lawmakers who have not lived up to the voters wishes.

Yeah, not legal like tomatoes, but they do have a lot of laws and regulations around alcohol and tobacco so it's understandable.

Really you should be happy with legalish weed majority of the country don't have it let alone the world.

I'd say your pretty much on point with your assessment.
The powers that be DO NOT want to relinquish the control they've gain, so far, and they are fighting tooth and nail to keep it.

ALSO...
According to BLACK'S LAW DICTIONARY...
A LICENSE is:
Permission from somebody (the State) to do something that would otherwise be illegal.

SOOOOOO.....
How can they call it legalization when they are requiring LICENSES in some places?

They're playing word games folks!

All true. When the voters speak, our _representatives_ job is to do what they are told, not drag their feet and sell us off to the highest bidder.

I guess we had to start somewhere. It's nuts that an ounce of weed in a dispensary costs enough to fund an entire grow for you and your friends.

it is an intoxicant. fact. it is the SAFEST intoxicant. also fact. it may never be as "free" as we wish it, but it will get to be like home-made beer/wine in time, where the law will not give a damn as long as you are not evading taxes. :tiphat:

Here in Massachusetts, the money for the NO propaganda came from drug and alcohol companies, the church, police, and a billionaire who lost a kid to heroin. The republican billionaire, Sheldon Adelson, made his money in Vegas on gambling and booze.

It would be wonderful if the voting proposition included a clause that looked into why these groups were able to ruin so many lives for so long while they perpetuate their own agendas. And they're still getting away with it.

Interesting observation that can apply to pretty much everyone here!

If the English king put similar hemp growing regulations on the colonies
and called it "freedom"

he probably still would have had the Tea Party and a whole bunch of angry colonists to deal with.

Americans have been cowed by the 20th century version of "freedom".

Always been slick with the wording. First British colony in Va was required to pay taxes with cannabis.

I either didn't know that or had so long forgotten it, it's good to see it brought up.

I repeatedly run across stuff you say from history that makes me remember good cannabis facts.

You can bet if cucumbers and tomatoes got you high, they’d either be licensed and taxed or illegal.
The premium is paid for getting high... above all, our governments do not like their people to feel good.
If there was a way to tax smiling, we’d all be either skint or miserable.

Well, if the stupid ass politicians would simply make cannabis totally legal it would be worthless pretty much. But, you can't fix stupid.
