What are Metal halide 'self ballast' lamps?

Came across these 250W Metal halide lamps ; they say they are 'self ballast' -what does that mean? cheers

Give us a link.

Self ballasted usually means that the lamp needs no external ballast. All it needs is normal AC house current from any wall receptacle or fixture.
