I'm not sure if this is the place for this, but i'm posting it up.
I received a large bottle of Chianti wine from a relative.
This bottle of wine is old, wasn't going to drink what was in it.
The cork was so dry rotted, it took quite awhile to remove it.
I managed to drain her and rinse her with a bleach solution to kill the wine smell.
i used a dremel and a diamond wheel (with plenty of water)on it to cut off the top foot or so of the bottle to make for easy reaching to spark.
(sorry about the sideways pic)
after the cut
i sanded the rough edge w/ dremel bits.
started out w/ 60 grit, to 120, then finished her off w/ 220 grit sand block.
then i proceeded to hit it with a wire wheel and polished her up.
unfortunately i don't have the downstem just yet, it is on order.
so any update will most likely be this weekend or later, depending on delivery of parts.
the downstem will be 14mm ready, w/ a rubber grommet for the glass.
any ?'s, feel free to ask.
i have never done this before FYI, kinda winging it after some online tutorials.
