I tried using PhotoAcute for averaging multiple shots in different focus to a super-resolution picture but it keeps crashing, any of you know a good alternative?

Gee its been over a year since you first asked, sorry Yekke.

I attempted my first stacked image recently myself so I'm no authority on the matter, but I was successful & more than happy with the result.
Adobe Photoshop is what I used. I'm unfamiliar with Photo Acute.

I would suggest to check all the minimum requirements needed for Photo Acute to operate on your pc or mac.
If your OS is on par then you could try uninstalling the software then reinstall it again.

Ok, I just had a quick read of a review essay by Uwe Steinmueller from '07....

The header read: PhotoAcute: Super-Resolution Science & Engineering or Fiction

Then his Conclusion: Super-Resolution with PhotoAcute is no fiction.

Good luck & I hope you get it sorted.
