Thinking about doing a no till sip maybe two 40 gal totes or something.
Anyone use no till sip before?

How did it work out?

I won't be able to move them so I can just plant right in them again?

Do I need to add less aeration. I'm following the standard coot recipe.

It's either that or 4 25 gal smart pots which I probably won't be able to move either.

Hi. I dont yet have any experience with SIP in 4x4 but I am going to do that when my tent arrives. (Its on the way)

I will use 8 no till 50l square fabric pots with modified coots recipe. Maybe 9 if I can fit oscillating fan in there.

Are you going to use perlite in your tray? I was thinking maybe trying vermiculite because it holds water better. Does any one have experience in which is better.

I have run SIPs on everything from 1 gallon pots to 4x8 beds. They work well in all conditions.

Perlite is your best option. It will hold plenty of air and water and roots will grow heavily through it if you keep your water level correct.

I like to use 4" of perlite with 2.5-3" of water. This will give you a 1" air gap between the pot and the water level.

I like to use pond liners with a 2x6 frame. If you use a float valve you can dial your water level in and auto water.

Also keep exposed perlite covered because algae will grow eventually.
