Any other “Micro-Dosers” Here?

I’m sure this is a weird thread, but the concept is actually becoming more and more common (from my findings).

From my experience there are three types of people when it comes to using Cannabis.

A) The first don’t like it at all, they’re just not wired to enjoy the effects.

B) The second group are people that can use large quantities without adverse effects. These individuals can use concentrates and consume edibles without any adverse reactions.

C) The third group is like me. These individuals like the effects in moderation, although too much too fast can trigger an anxiety response.

I enjoy using cannabis but I am also prone to anxiety if I consume too much. I’ve learned how to limit my consumption by “micro-dosing” to avoid the anxiety. Basically I will take small puffs and space them out so that I can work up to the amount that “hits the spot”. I’ve also noticed that going from not high to very high in a short period of time can increase the anxiety. It seems like (to me) that if I gradually work myself up by spacing out my usage, I can allow myself to get “higher” while still enjoying it and not working myself up into a frenzy.

I’d describe the anxiety as “head games”, and usually it will end up playing out with some brief paranoia and racing heart, before going away altogether after about fifteen to twenty minutes. I’ve gotten used to it, so I generally just wait it out (This too shall pass) and remember the more enjoyable effects are on their way.

I’m also more prone to enjoying an indica or indica hybrid than a pure sativa or sativa hybrid.

Anyone else out there? Any tips on getting over the “anxiety” response from using cannabis? Should I be experimenting with High THC / High CBD strains that are more evenly matched?

Tolerance can go up and down although it is self-regulating in other words up to you what and when is a micro-dose. Prior users might get some anxiety, or paranoia trying it again. Some anecdotes here seem similar meaning lower dose, indica is less anxiety prone. Funny I was at the dispensary and people behind me asked if they had any prerolls or gummies and walked out when they did not. Edibles and such are cool but you have to know the brands I would imagine because some random untrained grower (has it happened?) using warehouses to manufacture all the little packages and everything, combined with rules taxes and employees, really drives up the price. It always helps to know where the ingredients come from.

Be careful with Indicas as your brain won't register when you go overboard but, your body will let you know.n 20-30mg CBD will take care of that though :)

Smoke buds that have been jarred for more than 60 days.

I have stash that is aged 6 months or more that would make you
lose your mind after more than a few hits.

Tolerance and set and setting play a big role in any session I share with friends.

My bubble hash and cobs are mind bending.

yup, i smoke but a fraction of what i used to. of course, weed USED to be $35 or $40 an ounce too. now, the better shit is 10 times that. price aint the problem though. tolerance has gone to hell on a hand cart since i quit smoking multiple doobs a day. must be that "getting old" thing i hear about...:tiphat:

Edibles

For me, I love taking sativa capsules that I make that have approximately 100 mg of THC. I find them highly effective to relieve arthritic pain.

Amazing long lasting intense high that can last all day long. If I'm feeling bold, I will also supplement a cap with a few tokes.

I once experimented to see how many I could take. I passed out and slept for 14 hours after I took 7. That was a BAD idea, and I won't be doing that ever again.....:peek:

Yeah with edibles you will definitely fall asleep (if too much) but other than the occasional news story about a dog finding a stash or something that's the closest thing to a recorded overdose afaik. Contrast this in its entirety with the lethal dose or toxic concentration of so many, if not every pharmaceutical drug prescription or otherwise.

If you are prone to unwanted anxiety or paranoia, CBD strains or hybrids are the way to go. First hand experience here. Find the right plant and it's the best of both worlds. Social or work situations it's all I'll smoke. Your mind won't get twisted or lost, but you'll get a nice lift to enhance your experience whatever you're doing.

I usually take just one hit from a small bowl.

Once I tried to weigh the crumbled bud on a scale that measured down to .01 grams ... it registered as .00 grams.

Since then I got a milligram scale, some day I'll try it again.

Thanks Scrappy Do you have any favorite strains?

It's not the herb it's your mind. Deal with the issues that bring you anxiety and panic and you'll be able to smoke as much as you want all the time.

I agree and although I'm uncertain about what's in the commercially available extracts I'd also try one of the newer vape cartridge and batteries. Expensive but it can be very mild and clear headed, not the same as smoking. Perfect for a micro-dose where a heavier user might find them a little too costly.

Todays genetics suck so bad you have to microdose to get anything out of it for more than a day. Since the mids 80s the ceiling has been dropping lower and lower. I dont think most people realize how much higher you get off old school genetics. You just can't microdose old school genetics.

Put me in that 4th category. The closer to tripping shrooms the better. And the closer it taste to shrooms the less that's going to happen. Fucking "earthy" weed seems to be a thing these days. Aint no one getting high off that shit

I was thinking the same thing.
I probably sound repetative but I highly recommend strong psychedelics. Blast right thru the anxiety with a fat dose of reality.
