Yeah it’s a shame, you would have thought they would looked after the strains that made them the company they are today.
I don’t understand the marketing, we clearly know the flower has changed. And dumb arses like me keep buying the same beans in hopes that we will find them classic tastes
People that really know the difference are few and smoked their own pot😂😂 the rest are tourist buying prerolls and wannabe budtender that buy by popularity name…
Even the Dr. grinspoon if you grow the plant the structure have nothing to do with the original one… since I’ve discovered some US breeder , one Spanish and some close friend I’ve completely dropped the Dutch seeds

@bibi40 That looks really good. I can't wait to visit the dam again sometime in the future. I really want to get some nice hash again, as it is not available where I live. Reefer seems like it has stepped up pretty much from what I've heard.

Didn't know reefer before , but for sure a good place for the new school hash ...

will just light a blue cookies stick ,
seein the aspect and texture i 'm unsure it's fresh frozen , likely static i guess , since it's really different ,
but once again , not so much experience in this kind of stuff ...

ok , pretty tasty for sure , fruity , fresh ,
did i want some more for everyday ?
yes ...
did it worth the price ?
for try it yes , but no more ...

not as good than the Tangerine squeeze ?
no , to be honest really good , but really far of the Tangerine squeeze quality ...

we did try Manali cream too ( 12,5€/g ) ,
was a bland taste with light effect , no comment ...

will reports about Terps army next ...

:tiphat:

edit :
had to reportt than the second smoke/try was really better on this, blue cookies, and i can vouch for it

First stop was to original dampkring ,

once again the " haza " /10€/g was the best deal in my opinion,
did try the " bab-taza " ( 14€/g ) which was a good traditional , but just on par whith what i can get at home for a littlest price .

on the weed side their Mexican haze was really good and trippy !

big up !!!

Nice reviews @bibi40 … looks like some tasty hash. Amsterdam prices seem to have gone wild since my last visit.

@GrayZone

I know the coffeeshop you are refering to and indeed it is one of the better ones. Though one I don't visit often these days, especially since Covid19 as during that they even more turnt into a place for locals and hashwise there is not happening much.

Too had the hashish you mentioned since the very beginning they first sold it. Good quality on the average indeed but haven't had it since years(and to be fair again don't expect it to have changed much.).

As usual to be fair again while I don't like chains[said one here is pretty big now throughout the Netherlands and e.g. are connected to some degree with Tweede Kamer and otthers as well] for several reasons too often I give them credit for being one of the first pioneers in regards to establishing a constant supply of the hashish with foreign genetics[read western genetics grown in Morocco]and creating their 'own line'[wich others did before though, too] before many others jumped on it[and passed them but credit where credit is due once again!] until this very day where we all have those supposedly different sections with silly names producing high grade with foreign genetics in Morocco.

The hashish you mentioned is by the way one of those and not traditional, not only identifyable by smell and taste but also the strain name[which this chain is selling a seed version of obviously].

Again, during Covid19 they even more focussed on the locals which I'd never judge at all but as written above in my previous report I explained why coffeeshops for locals are too often not what I am looking for.

Anyway, I see your good intention and no problem you mixed something up. Enjoy your next trip!

@Hasch

Nice sativas, huh? I really appreciate Katsu for sitting down and atmosphere sorta while in the area but since having a strong priority for hashish[always take a look at their for my taste uninteresting menu though] I on the average don't buy there as this tends to be a place for locals as well and despite their reputation their quality has seen better days and is overrated in my humble opinion. Just another myth.

Hardly personally found or have seen any standouts in a long time.

No offence intended but for your mentioned search it could be nice enough. However, I couldn't give you directions at all grasswise for several reasons but despite I a bit again pulled Original Dampkring below to pieces and it being a very commercial place these days I highly recommend to take a look at their menu for sometimes rare 'sativas' as e.g. every now and then they have C5 and such listed. Not on this visit by the way but on the previous in December it was on.

@bibi40

Thanks for your reviews:tiphat:!
Bummer you set foot in this shithole which is Rock-it but no drama since this is part of the fun and a balanced holiday, at least in my eyes. As reported haven't seen any quality hashish from Libanon at coffeeshops in recent years and your encounter at this coffeeshop is bizarre to say the least. At least you liked it!
Cheers again!

It's a pity too about the Manali Cream you tried at Reefer , if you fancy such try Bluebird for still a selection around the corner or Original Dampkring but attention please especially these days I wouldn't stake my life for it not being just lousy overpriced mid-grade quality from Nepal, India and the likes!

Don't bother!

Will take discussion about your findings to the discussion thread about Imports.

Back to Amsterdam in March:

Reefer:

Place by the way was rennovated a couple of months back and now suits their expensive and in parts exclusive menu way better though now is a sterile place like many others.

Unsuccessfully on one hand all interesting pieces from my most favourite section on their menu - as well as the Tangerine Squeeze Bibi40 raved about - were still listed, but, guess what, -were sold out[funnily the Mulberry of the producer of Tangerine Squeeze was back and was recommended by the staff and advertised as 'cured' but while I in retrospect should have gone for it new 'flavours' are priority ; was also a bit more expensive this time for what ever reason but looked and smelled the business! ]
then on the other hand
they had some wares from the mentioned cheaper line of a hyped producer from California , Usa imitating Moroccan style hashish[from appereance member Piff Rhys Jones mentiomed a few months back] in stock.

So chose their Pink Runtz for 26€ a gram. Very sweet taste and all over stone as well as high. Good stuff, no doubt but didn't impress me when having a choice[ needless to say again back at home a different story if available of course].

Original Dampkring:

While I always enjoy staying here for a consumption unit and seeing the new tomcat again it too doesn't happen too much on their menu for hashish which I scanned as usual.
The Bab Taza I had in December and member Bibi40 some weeks later was still on and looked like the last time – though for several reasons
I wanted something else and anyway greedy for new gear any time so opted for the Niqa for 14€[put up a picture here, #1-3!] out of sheer desperation for some classic Moroc.
I kid you not but my inner quality detector told me to stay away when budtender opened the tub and praising it as one of the best traditionals.

Well, I took it nonetheless which then confirmed my concerns as it was stale in taste and providing a medium stone ; just too old.

Since I had 'Niqa' too when it first appeared on their menu[they are notorius for selling different batches under the same name but they are not the only one ; it is pretty common]years ago and inbetween every now and then to my liking as well
I have to ask again: is this maybe the same batch of the very first try back then someone saved and didn't store properly? Disappointing mid-grade quality now after this 'aging', haha.

That I wouldn't buy for 4€ at home if at all[maybe if they would pay me 4€ each if that makes sense, anyone?]. Typical procedure of in fact real tourist traps and to me similar if one would sell rotten bananas for the same price without discount fresh ones go for at the supermarket.

Big let down and one reason apart from still day #1 in town for a short travel[did I mention before this country is so conveniently small?]elsewhere to get hold of the real deal classic lineage and high grade quality from a private source[put up a picture here, #4-7].
Balance sorted me thinks:biggrin:.

Het Gelderse:

Asked to see a couple of options and went for 'Wedding Cookies' for 22€ a gram.
Bingo!
Now that was something: deep taste sorta leaning on the kush side but complex accompanied by a strong high!
By the way produced by the same section I tried in December for the first time and back then also one of the best. Again this time and alone worth the hunt in town so easily the best on this one!
Looking forward again trying more gear of this section in the future to say the least, spot on yet!

Green Place, Bagheera, Solo, Siberie, The Plug,
Catch 33 [ Since we visited inbetween before this trip during stays in town we were already then informed that announced take over
by Spanish Social Club from Barcelona La Kalada did not happen but they still have a huge menu of their wares and are connected somehow according to what the staff told us ; this time they had an expensive item on the menu I would have been very keen
to try since this statiic sift was produced by a famous nowadays so called 'hash artist' I have on my radar since a while – though of course
it was sold out unfortunately but taking this turnover into account I hope they will offer other gear from them in the near future ] , Greenhouse, Barney's , Tweede Kamer and Terps Army were visited with no success as well.

Despite I got a cold halfway down the trip and thus logically stopped consuming for several reasons which is always a bit of a letdown but life thankfully cannot be planned fully ahead the sun was blazing down on us mostly and we all had a lovely time.
Again, there will always be next time!
