UK Police use drone to scan heat signatures in rural Norfolk
On a plus side the pensioner did not get any jail time for 700 plants.

Makes one wonder how extensive their drone ops are.

At least back then they were limited by the availability of funding for the helicopter pilot, maintenance, fuels costs. These drones end up being exponentially cheaper.
