There's no such thing, as you being an Engineer, database or otherwise, so you wouldn't know what we do.

We DO troubleshoot databases and many of us are hired specifically to do that - and that ALONE.

When I was the Electronic Engineer in charge of the Grand Canyon National Park's wireless communications systems for a year or so,

one of my duties was to drive to a remote, third-party
emergency and tourist

in-flight cellular telephony site.

I called another Engineer on the East Coast, and togeher we calibrated the cell site's computerized transmitters and receivers,
the switching,

in tandem with their own remote administration sensing equipment and computer systems.

The LAST thing I did, after I had the hardware in line, MOST times,

was physically turn on the specialized internal update modem, and update the databases for it, physically from their headquarters.

I had to reach in and physically turn on a switch, because if they let it auto-update, it had a propensity to crash.

The cellular company from their office, tested the databases for the cell site that updated,

while I waited live, on the phone.

When the cell site wasn't updating right,

or wasn't reflecting the proper active client lists,

or wasn't handing off correctly,
